What I wore:
Dress: Jeanswest Heather textured maxi dress in eggshell (C/O)
Shoes: Rebecca Minkoff Georgina studded gladiator sandals in blush (on sale!)Bag: Louis Vuitton MM damier azur neverfull
Why I wore it:
Perfect for the 'maxi impact' instagram style challenge for SummerStyleFile, this dress was what I wore to go have our annual family Santa photo back in December. Trying to get Baby Boy, Toddler T and Cooper all happy and smiling at the camera was interesting though!I really liked wearing this maxi dress for the photos - although I did take it off when we got home again as I figured untying it and tying it back up to breastfeed in would get too frustrating. The Louis Vuitton Neverfull and nude studded sandals made a really nice accessory combo too. It was fun wearing this dress for the first time without a baby bump, as I was pregnant the previous times I wore it!
Last worn: pastel maxi dress, studded gladiator sandals, Louis Vuitton Neverfull.
Other ways to wear: pastel maxi dress and purple bag, studded gladiator sandals and denim shorts, Louis Vuitton Neverfull and metallic jeans.
What I wore:
Necklace: Nibbly Bits Abacus teething necklace in pop
Tee: Atmos&Here grey v-neck tee with rolled sleeves (similar in black or white)Skirt: Target navy side split maxi skirt
Shoes: slim gold Havaianas
Bag: Louis Vuitton MM damier azur neverfull
Why I wore it:
Unlike the beautiful maxi dress above, this outfit was being worn for a much more casual occasion. This is what I wore to take Baby Boy into hospital. It had been a possible course of action discussed at our last specialist appointment so we knew it may happen in advance which made it a little less scary. This was a nice causal outfit, great for settling in and meeting some of the team who would be investigating Baby Boy and supporting us during our stay. While the goal is to share everything I wear on the blog, I won't be posting the hospital outfits. I shared them on instagram, they are basically variations of this grey tee and maxi skirt outfit!
The hospital room outfit photos aren't the usual quality I'd have for blog photos so I hope you don't mind if we skip 2 weeks of hospital style. They were a nice distraction from everything and fun to share on Instagram but I have lots of other outfits to post anyway. I'm usually 2 weeks behind with outfits but for some reason posting December outfits in January makes me feel like I'm even more behind!
Last worn: slouchy grey tee, navy stripe maxi skirt, gold Havaianas, Louis Vuitton damier Neverfull (above).
Other ways to wear: slouchy grey tee and black skater skirt, navy stripe maxi skirt and cross body bag, Louis Vuitton damier Neverfull and purple jeans.

I can imagine hospital pictures not being the best quality. The lighting in there is nothing short of awful!

ReplyDeleteThat maxi dress looks beautiful on you. It's great that it's a versatile enough piece that you can wear it both pregnant and postpartum!
ReplyDeleteThat two weeks in hospital must have been so stressful, I'm glad you guys are home again. I hope your little love is doing well. Looking forward to the post-hospital style posts!
Thanks Cassie! It was so good to get out of hospital.
DeleteI agree - maxis are the best for all occasions! Love the dress in the first one but I can see how it would be inefficient for breastfeeding! That's a shame, but at least it looks pretty! :]

Both are lovely! I am particularly partial to the stripe though, because I love anything with a stripe. I'm hoping to expand my maxi collection for Australia, so far I've found one maxi dress on Boden that's long enough for me. I love it and I'm looking forward to wearing it in warmer weather :)
ReplyDeleteMaxis are perfect for our weather - glad you found a long one! :)
DeleteMaxis are great to wear on so many occasions. That light blue maxi dress is seriously gorgeous on you. The cut and the color are perfect! I think it's so funny that we have opposite weather....I cannot imagine wearing a Summer maxi to go see Santa just as you couldn't imagine layers and coats! Haha!

ReplyDeleteThat maxi dress is such a pretty color! I love your devotion to the maxi dress/skirt as a petite gal--it gives me hope for myself! :)
ReplyDeleteYou just need to find the right one! Or the right tailor...sometimes both, ha!
DeleteBoth looks are great--you always remind me to pull out my maxi skirts and dresses! That second look especially reminds me that I need to wear my striped maxi more. I hope you're having a great weekend Mica! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad I could inspire you! :)
DeleteIt must have really felt different wearing the dress without a baby bump! I really like the first one. It has a dressier look to it, but still seems wearable for everyday occasion because you can easily dress it up or down. Plus that color you chose is gorgeous!!

Maxi is the best for the girl who loves dresses but doesn't want to worry about their bum falling out while chasing a toddler. (; You are the queen of all things maxi and always will be! Hope you are having a great Monday! (:
