What I wore:
Necklace: pink beaded disc necklace
Singlet: Jeanswest Carla maternity cut out tank (non-maternity version)
Skirt: Target black and white striped maxi skirt
Shoes: black slim Havaianas thongs
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote in plum (on sale!)
Why I wore it:
Wore this to work from home and attend an OB appointment in the afternoon. I'd been thinking that this black maternity tank would look nice with the striped maxi skirt, but I wasn't too sure when I put it on. I decided to try brighten it up with some colourful accessories. Although the pink necklace and purple mini MAB tote bag don't match, I thought the colours were nice against the black.I still feel this was missing something though - maybe a colourful scarf would have been a better option.
As it's the second time I've worn this tank, and I'm reviewing everything I buy to make sure I'm buying things I'll actually wear, my purchase review:
I really like wearing this tank, so I'm glad I bought it. While I already had a plain black maternity tank, this one feels different enough with the cut out details that I'm glad I bought it too. Pleased I bought more maternity tops in this pregnancy, I'm really enjoying wearing them. Although I bought this near the end of the second trimester, I still feel I'll get enough use from it in the final trimester.
Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarers, black maternity tank, striped maxi skirt, Havaianas, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote.
Other ways to wear: black maternity tank and denim shorts, striped maxi skirt in the second trimester, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote and denim shorts.

What I wore:
Necklace: Happiness Boutique turquoise and coral pendant necklace (C/O)
Top: Jeanswest Sonny maternity tee in lagoon marle (C/O)
Skirt: AT by Atmos&Here Mars striped maxi skirt
Shoes: slim gold Havaianas
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff metallic silver mini MAC (on sale!)
Why I wore it:
I'd been thinking about more ways to wear this non-maternity skirt, and thought it would look great with this green maternity tee. After a few days of sickness and pretty much being stuck on the sofa, I had a busy morning running errands and taking a fully recovered toddler T to his gymboree class. I wasn't sure what to wear and could only think of this outfit idea. I decided to wear it anyway, although I wasn't sure a maxi skirt was the best choice for running around with toddler T. While I did like the outfit, I wished I'd worn something other than a maxi skirt for the class as it wasn't the most practical choice with the slit in the side.
I also didn't realise until halfway through the day that I'd picked gold accessories and a silver bag! Not a conscious decision, I just grabbed a necklace without thinking, and not a combination I'd wear again.
Last worn: green maternity tee, striped maxi skirt, Havaianas, Rebecca Minkoff metallic mini MAC.
Other ways to wear: green maternity tee and denim shorts, striped maxi skirt in winter, Rebecca Minkoff metallic mini MAC and a printed tee dress.

Mixed metals are so on trend ;)
ReplyDeletehaha true!
DeleteI'm loving the colour pop with the necklace in the first look and I didn't notice the silver bag and gold jewellery in the second until you pointed it out, still looks absolutely fab! I spent all last summer is side split maxis until I took my then 4yo niece to the park - wasn't until I was half way up a climbing frame beckoning her down I realised it wasn't the best idea! x
ReplyDeleteViva Epernay
haha yes it's trickier with a split in the side of the skirt when running around with a toddler!
DeleteLoving how casual and simple the first outfit is, and you did a lovely job brightening it up with the accessories. :) <3 And I think the necklace in the second outfit is gorgeous, and that the silver handbag actually works quite well! <3

Love the pop of colour necklace in the first outfit. And the metallic bag is so cute!

I cant even start to imagine being pregnant in the summer, I think the heat would kill me! Maxi skirts are a great option, and I have a similar one to the first that I love in summer just with a plain white tee for days of running errands.
ReplyDeleteAnd I actually think the pairing in the second outfit worked quite well, the silver went great with the turquoise and the necklace picked up the color from the stone. But the again I do know nothing about fashion...

I am spending a lot of time in the pool...haha!
DeleteYou are a very stylish lady from what you share on your blog, so thanks for the compliment on the mixed metals :)
I actually like the subtle tones of the second look - even though if the skirt was not practical and if the chains did not match. I think you looked sweet.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lorena. I think if I had different accessories I would have liked it more :)
DeleteI really like how the black tank looks with the striped skirt! The colorful accessories were a great finishing touch

I like the pops of colour in the first outfit - I think that a coloured top might have been more visually interesting than a black top, though. I love the minty-blue in the second outfit - nothing wrong with mixing your metals! It adds a nice touch. Lovely, you are! I hope the heat eases for you soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sheila, I think a different top would have been better :) I'm hoping the heat eases too!
DeleteI love the neck piece you're wearing and the striped skirt is very nice ,i guess you're ready for spring.

It's summer here in Australia :)
DeleteI can only imagine how hard it is to just have clothes in the way of your belly. So, these types of items must be very comfortable on you. And guess what? It looks absolutely beautiful on you. Your belly! <3

The top outfit is so chic! I love everything about it especially the red necklace, You look great. Gemma x

I love that red necklace in the first outfit, and the minty top in the second is so soft and pretty. Hahahah sometimes I wear skirts places that end up being totally inappropriate for skirts. It's the worst!

I know that feeling! Skirts can be inconvenient sometimes.
DeleteI didn't even notice the contrasting gold jewelry/silver bag! I love both looks but the second is my favorite. I think it's because of that gorgeous green top, I just love that color!
ReplyDeleteIt is a lovely colour! :)
DeleteI'm loving both looks with you created with your maxi skirts, Mica! I especially love the second look, mint is beautiful on you! I hope you have a wonderful weekend :)

Your SAHM style is ten times that of most moms I know. Honestly I feel like I'd be pajama and sweat clad a lot of the time. Yet after following your blog, I see there's really no excuse. You're really pregnant, have a toddler, staying at home, and STILL manage to look effortlessly put together. Have a great weekend Mica!
ReplyDeleteHaha when I don't have to go anywhere you know I'm in my PJs! The only reason I'm not in my trackie dacks (sweats) is the heat!
DeleteYou have inspired me to wear longer (slightly shorter than) maxi skirts. I just got one from Zara and it is so comfy! <3 You look really cute in both!
ReplyDeleteSo glad I could inspire you to try some longer skirts!
DeleteI totally get you, dear. It's summer in my country too, and although I'm not pregnant I can't stand strechy clothes are all because of the heat! I can't even imagine how annoying it must be for you! Yet, you managed to wear perfectly put together outfits, the second maxi skirt is gorgeous. I'd wear so often during this months!!

Looking fabulous Mica. And so comfy! Xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous outfits! I love how the second maxi skirt has a small slit in it. It just adds a lovely touch!

It is a nice touch, even if it doesn't make it the most practical for a gymboree lesson!
DeleteYou look adorable in the stripes! I'm also loving that red necklace.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how stylish you are and you're in your third trimester! I would probably just wear pjs all day long!

I do when I don't need to leave the house, haha!
DeleteWhat a smart idea to wear your regular skirts with maternity tops! Since I have no kids, this is not something I've had to think about, haha! :) As always, I loooove your Minkoff collection, especially that plum MAB tote! So gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love those striped maxi, both of them are so lovely! I like the tops you paired them with and the necklaces are the perfect accessory for both of these looks. You always look so stylish and pretty...even in Summer:)
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your kind comments and inputs onto the things I wasn't too sure about in both outfits. :)
ReplyDeleteYou still look so sexy with your baby bump! Such a beautiful pregnant woman :)
