Colourful Skinny Jeans, Black Tanks and Rebecca Minkoff Love Bag

Two slightly different outfits, both featuring bright pants and black tanks.

What I wore:

Away From Blue | Dinner Date outfit black tank pink leopard print skinny jeans RM Love bag

Away From Blue | Rebecca Minkoff Love Cross Body with pink leopard print jeans
SunniesRayban new Wayfarers
Jacket: no label white drape jacket
NecklaceDogeared silver wishbone necklace layered with Dogeared 3 Wishes stardust bead necklace
TankJeanswest round neck lace detail top
Jeans: Portmans pink leopard print skinny jeans
ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs two tone flats in blush and black
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff Love cross body bag in grey

Why I wore it:

This is a little more dressed up than I'd normally get for working from home and doing daycare drop off / pick up, but we had an evening out planned to have dinner with a friend so I put a little more effort in.

I was trying on a few different jackets in the morning, trying to find a nice one that would work with this, when i saw this little lightweight one. I'm pleased it's getting warmer in Brisbane so I can start wearing things like this again. I've really been looking forward to spring!

BagRebecca Minkoff Love cross body bag in grey

Why I wore it:

I was in such a rush on this morning, and already late, so you get a quick pic with my little fluffy and not so fluffy children photobombing! It's impossible to keep toddler T still, but most of the time he likes to run around behind the tripod. I usually manage to grab a photo without him in the frame for the blog, but didn't have time to take a few shots this time.

As this peplum tank is sleeveless, I added the cardigan to keep me warm, but ended up taking it off later in the day as it was a gloriously warm spring day.

Last worn: grey cardi, black peplum tank, red skinny jeans, black ballet flats, Rebecca Minkoff Love bag (above).

Other ways to weargrey cardi and a printed dress, peplum tank worn tucked in with a skirt, red skinny jeans and a printed cami, ballet flats and maxi skirtsRebecca Minkoff love bag and a little black dress.

  1. I love those pink jeans of yours. I never think jeans are interesting enough in terms of colour and pattern (but these certainy are!). I don't think I've ever noticed jeans in Portmans before...of course you can never go wrong with Marc Jacobs flats either.

    1. Yeah Portmans isn't the first place I think of when I think of denim, but these are perfect !I've been really impressed with them :)

  2. Those patterned skinny jeans are amazing! I really like the print of them and by keeping the rest of the outfit black and white, you really kept their statement status...I did love this first look.

The second outfit is also lovely....I do like those red jeans...and how cute is your toddler photobombing this shot. You look fantastic!

  5. I need more colorful skinny jeans especially a true red pair. Love those pink leopard skinnies, so much. They would be perfect to link with the pink-themed linkup I have on currently. Thanks. =)

  10. Again, congrats! Though I totally knew months ago. (; It was back when you did no buy July when you bought that blue Target top. I looked at Joshua, showed him the pic, and said "Mica is totally pregnant." He looked so confused and said "she's tiny! How do you know?" I still have no idea, I just knew. haha. Super human mom powers? haha

I love peplum everything. I have a large bust and very small behind. Peplum gives the illusion that I'm proportionate. Sadly peplum is actually hard to find here. Isn't that weird. ?? I also love me some colorful jeans. I like that I can getaway with them at the office without looking too casual. They are so functional!

    1. haha definitely super mum powers! We didn't even know when I took that pic! :)

I found peplum was huge here a while ago now it seems to be harder to find - was definitely easier when it was the 'trendy' thing. Very flattering, especially for a little bit of starting-to-show baby belly! ;)

  14. These printed pants are so great, especially for a change up in style form the regular denim. I also really like the second outfit with the red pants very much. I love grey, and this cardigan would be a perfect versatile piece for me. <3

  22. I actually really like that your kid & the dog are both in the photo, that's how life truly is. Busy and not everything is always "perfect" looking, unlike a ton of other fashion bloggers I see. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but your photos are just a lot more real! If that made any sense at all haha
