Scarf: Alexander McQueen magenta skull scarf in roses print
Jumper: Jeanswest 'Marion' grey textured crew neck knit
Jeans: Jeanswest 'spoylt' super skinny jeans
Shoes: black slim Havaianas thongs
Cosy casual outfit to have family visit for the day. Added the scarf for a bit of colour and interest, and just wore my Havaianas as I didn't venture out of the house. My favourite part of this outfit is the jeans - back into my pre-pregnancy jeans so soon! I was getting a little bored of the three maternity jeans options I've been wearing for months, so I went hunting through my pile of denim during baby's nap time to see if there was anything that fit yet.
So pleased that I could squeeze into these! I have multiple sizes of jeans hiding in the wardrobe...hopefully I'm not the only one. The combination of these being one of the larger sizes I own and a low waisted style means that they still fit despite the leftover baby belly. Which is wonderful, as I had tried on two other pairs of jeans (too high-waisted, too small) before getting to these. I can't even remember the last time I wore something that didn't have an elastic waist, it felt really nice wearing my old denim. I last wore these particular jeans 7 months ago, when I was hiding the beginnings of the second trimester bump!
Last worn: Alexander McQueen skull scarf, grey knit, skinny jeans, Havaianas.
Here's what I wore to go to the park:
Jacket: Juicy Couture Long Sleeve Original Zip Hoodie in 'Silver Lining'
Singlet: Jeanswest 'Jenni' basic singlet in festival fuchsia
Skirt: Jeanswest plain jersey black maxi skirt
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs pretty nylon Eliz-A-Baby bag
Another really simple "stay at home" outfit. Only needed the shoes and baby bag when I went out in the afternoon for a bit of a walk with baby T and to take Cooper to the park.
Comfort (and anything that isn't pyjamas!) is what I'm looking for now as I spend some time with baby T being a stay at home mum. My favourite pregnancy outfit combination of singlet and maxi skirt is still a favourite of mine post-pregnancy. Just needs an added layer or two now we are into the winter months.
I last wore this skirt and tank together in summer during the second trimester, with a beautiful statement necklace. This winter version of the outfit would have looked nice with a necklace or scarf, but it was warm enough in the afternoon to just need a jacket, and I don't want baby T getting tangled in a necklace chain.
Last worn: Juicy Couture hoodie, Jeanswest singlet, jersey maxi skirt, Converse, baby bag.

hehe, I think I'm just disguising the leftover baby weight well - easy to do in photos, I managed to keep baby under wraps until part way through the second trimester. Don't have any real advice!
Deletecongrats on already fitting into your pre-pregnancy jeans -- that's amazing! love seeing these casual outfits, as i've been really into dressing simply & casually lately.
ReplyDeleteps love how cooper is standing where he usually does in the first picture! he doesn't even have his leash on, but he knows how to pose!

Haha I'm quilts of having three different sizes jeans (ha and I'm not even pregnant). These days due to the sport training I have been doing, my muscles on my thighs have grown (sigh) so jeans have become less favourable for me to wear! Skirt and more skirt please :)
ReplyDeletePs love that red Alexander McQueen scarf! Such a beautiful pop of red!!
Skirts look cute on you! And I'm sure jeans would too, but you have to wear what you are comfortable in :)
DeleteComing over from the linkup. Congrats on fitting back into your pre-pregnancy jeans! I think we all have multiple sizes and fits in our closet. I really like your scarf!!

I could not wait to get back into my regular clothes after having my daughter. And yes, I definitely have multiple sizes in my wardrobe, too. It's always exciting when you keep adding to the pile of normal clothes that fit as you get back to your size! You look fabulous!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's great being able to fit into more and more clothes as time goes on - opens up all of my wardrobe again, it was getting a little limited near the end of the pregnancy!
DeleteYay for fitting into a pair of pre-pregnancy jeans! You had such great maternity style - it's nice following your transition into post-partum fashion. I hope I can do it as well as you! :)
ReplyDeleteYou will look fantastic! :)
Deleteyou look gorgeous here mica. new mum glow! and how do you get back into old jeans so fast? i just checked out that mbmj baby bag, love it - so roomy too. tempted to get one for myself!
ReplyDeletesteph / absolutely-fuzzy.com
Just a combo of them being a larger size and hitting juuuuust below the leftover baby bulge ;) You're not allowed to exercise until after the 6 week checkup when you get the ok, so there isn't much you can do!
DeleteYay for being able to fit into pre-pregnancy jeans! That was so fast!
ReplyDeleteLove that scarf in the first picture. SO cute!!

I have been living in Havaianas too this summer. They are so comfy, and ideal to walk around the house in (and to be honest I went into the city a few times wearing them too...). I'm also happy to read that you are wearing your regular wardrobe again so soon! Have fun working out new outfits with the re-discovery of your wardrobe ^_^ xo
ReplyDeleteOh yes I wear my Havaianas everywhere - unless it's winter, then I wear my converse, haha! They are very comfortable :)
Deletelove that grey knit! :)

I have loads of different sizes in my wardrobe - and not just jeans. Sometimes, I can wear an 8, 10, 12 and 14 in the same outfit and they all fit. Plus I have clothes from various stages of my life and weight. I suffer from chronic oedema, which means I get lots of bloating and need lots of different sizes and styles.
ReplyDeleteI got back into my jeans about a week post birth but they were lower waist style so there was a bit more room, if you know what I mean!
Thanks for joining Wardrobe Wednesday x
Ah, yes! I have a lot of different labels in my wardrobe as well - it's crazy how random the sizing can be here in Australia! It's good you can have clothes to suit different stages as well :)
DeleteYou rock those maxi skirts Mica! Looks so good on you. I never thought you got big for your pregnancy. You did well. Those jeans look great on you. You're doing awesome!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kim! You're the biggest cheerleader - during and post-pregnancy!
Deletewow! what a surprise to see you on my screen sans belly :) Congratulations and you look great, and I know what you mean about wearing ANYTHING that doesn't have elastic. thanks for joining #RealMomStyle -Maria
ReplyDeleteYes, so nice to go out without elastic waist some days! Although there is no denying that they are comfortable, hehe!
DeleteThank you all for your kind comments!
