I certainly made up for not shopping in March! There was a bag I'd had my eye on at Shopbop and when the friends and family sale came along I couldn't resist picking up a few other things too with an extra 25% off.
What I Bought in April
In the video:
- Rebecca Minkoff unlined saddle bag in cherry red
- Tai gold alphabet necklace
- Marc by Marc Jacobs logo plaque ballet flats
Not in the video:
This tank was a last minute add on at the Iconic. I picked up a couple undies in their sale and was 50 cents away from free shipping. Instead of paying $7.95 just for shipping...I paid $9.98 and got the tank and free shipping! You can never have too many stripes.
How I Wore It:
- Rebecca Minkoff unlined saddle bag in cherry red (worn six times)
- Tai gold alphabet necklace
- Marc by Marc Jacobs Logo Plaque Ballet Flats (worn four times. 1, 2, 3, 4)
- Atmos & Here Oregon stripe tank (worn twice: here and here)
I didn't do too badly wearing everything. I have a goal of wearing things I buy at least twice in the month after I've bought it, so that I'm making sure I'm buying things I'll actually wear. The only thing I haven't worn is the necklace which is to be expected as I'm breastfeeding and try to avoid necklaces while baby's in the uncoordinated newborn phase. I know I'll be wearing it soon.
Despite not getting out the house every day with a newborn, and figuring out postpartum dressing the second time around, I managed to wear everything else twice or more. I'm sure people who follow me on instagram are getting really bored of seeing that Rebecca Minkoff bag now...but it's the perfect size and goes with everything! Being crossbody, it's perfect for looking after two boys under 2 as well!

Easier to avoid a tangled baby that way, haha!

hehe, I do like your pink one too!
DeleteI LOVE your new RM crossbody bag! I agree stripes are a wardrobes best friend. Perhaps I also need to set a goal to wear things twice in the month. I always struggle when the seasons change, because I feel like there's this awkward phase of trying to remember how to make all your items work again. I'm totally going through that right now!
ReplyDeleteI find it's the best way for me to make sure I'm buying things I'll wear :) I know that change of seasons feeling - this time around I have the postpartum period on top of it, it's tricky.
DeleteI love that bag! Such a fun shape and great pop of color!

That Rebecca Minkoff bag is so pretty, and it looks so good with the outfits you've shared. I always choose bags in boring colours so this has inspired me to think outside the box a little! Oh and I'm the same with shoes. If I find a pair that works I'll get them in all the colours!
ReplyDeletehehe I'm bright with my bags and boring with my shoes! I think everyone has some accessory they're more adventurous with :)
DeleteWow amazing haul! LOVE the new bag, it's soo pretty! I have been looking at that saddle bag too it's si nice with the studs. Also love your new flats. Have a great weekend. Gemma x

DeleteI love the color and style of that bag, it's so fun! I like your goal of trying to wear and item at least 2 times in the month you got it, and I'm impressed you were able to do that even with a newborn!
ReplyDeleteI think buying such wearable things helped :)

That's a smart buy with the cross-body Rebecca Minkoff bag. I love the colour. I used to have a grey pair of flats like that, I love them. I should take advantage of those Friends and Family sales. Happy weekend Mica. x /Madison

I am loving this bag! I have been considering buying the same one in a pastel hue - it's too cute! I also love having the goal of wearing something twice in the month that you bought it. I have a similar goal to only spend money on things that I know I will be able to rewear multiple times.

It holds a lot :)
DeleteHi Mica... I always enjoy stopping by and seeing what lovely items you're showcasing. This wrap up is perfect for giving us a great showcase of your style. I especially adore the floral kkimono cardigan on the bottom left hand side of the graph. I'm into kimonos and florals and have tons of ideas planned as well. Can't wait to see what else you come up with in May.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!

I'm a big fan of kimonos too! That one was a great $3 sale bargain
DeleteSo many lovely purchases, especially the red handbag! It's so feminine and I love the colour - I like how you can easily style it with any outfit to give a pop of colour to your look. :) <3 The necklace is beautiful also, I love the simple design! x

WOW what exciting purchases!! The bag is stunning. I really want to get a saddlebag. I adore the Marc Jacobs flats. They are the same pair I have in gold. You're right, they certainly are comfortable. There's just something I love about a new pair of their flats!
ReplyDeleteYes they really are the best flats I've found! I love grabbing them on sale.
DeleteI am loving your purchases! They're such staple items in any wardrobe!

Love you minkoff saddle bag!
ReplyDeleteLove those black flats, they really will go with everything!
ReplyDeleteWith the cross body saddle bags, how do you find the rounded bottom holds up to wear and tear from putting non-rounded items in it? (wallet, etc...) I'm intrigued by the style, but I'm wondering if the rounded edges are going to bulge if you know what I mean.
I have a big wallet in my saddle bag and so far the rounded shape hasn’t stretched out or been an issue- my wallet kind of ‘floats’ in the middle of the bag as it’s too big to reach the bottom. Doesn’t bulge out either, despite it being unlined. It's a great bag!
DeleteGORGEOUS bag! I especially love it where you paired it with the floral kimono and the red lippie!
ReplyDeleteMacarons and Mischief
The color & stitching on the bag are gorgeous! Nice purchase!

Seeing if you wear something twice in the month you buy it is such a good idea! I might need to implement that myself--I still haven't worn two of the things I bought last month, although mainly because it's been so cold and rainy here for "spring"! I love that RM bag, so cute!!
ReplyDeleteIt's tricky when the weather is unexpected!
