For my recent pregnancy, I implemented a third trimester pregnancy capsule wardrobe to try make it a little more fun.
The third trimester is definitely the time to repeat outfits that make you look and feel good, and to do so unashamedly! Find things that work for you and wear them as many times as you like. I've included 55 outfit ideas for the third trimester below, from both of my pregnancies. You can click on the links under the images to view more info about them.
Office Outfits:
In the third trimester, I still wore my ASOS maternity pencil skirts often, but the standout pieces were my wrap dresses. They were such an easy outfit that always fit the growing bump and never failed to look good. I wore wrap dresses a lot! I was able to find some regular non-maternity dresses in my wardrobe that still accommodated the baby bump too.
1: tartan skirt, blush pink blazer | 2: grey tee, tartan pencil skirt | 3: black maternity tank printed pencil skirt | 4: print mixing in the office
1: monochrome pencil skirt outfit | 2: grey and blue | 3: printed pencil skirt, pink accessories | 4: layering with a graphic print pencil skirt
1: wrap dress and Chloe Marcie bag | 2: pink and purple accessories, black wrap dress | 3: black wrap dress, orange bag | 4: maternity wrap dress, LV Speedy bag
Maxi Dress Outfits:
Just like in the second trimester, I found many of my existing maxi dresses still accommodated the bump nicely in the third trimester. Anything stretchy works. My maternity maxi dress was worn often, as I love the pink colour, but I wore my non-maternity dresses too. Maxi dresses have the benefit of never getting indecently short as the bump grows and pulls them up, so you can get a lot of wear from your existing pieces.
1: tie dye dress and fringe bag | 2: black maxi dress, silver clutch | 3: printed dress yellow clutch
4: blazer and snake print maxi | 5: blue printed dress, denim jacket | 6: belted blazer over a maxi dress
1: MEV maxi dress and fringe clutch | 2: Chanel bag and pink maxi dress | 3: bright accessories with a bright dress
Maternity Denim Outfits:
When I was in the final trimester over autumn my maternity skinny jeans were worn a lot. Recently, having an incredibly hot summer and being in the final weeks over a few heatwaves meant that I was wearing my denim shorts more. I bought all my maternity denim at Jeanswest, they were so perfect I didn't look elsewhere.
1: black tank, denim shorts | 2: printed kimono, maternity denim shorts | 3: striped tee, bermuda shorts | 4: floral kimono and long denim shorts
1: green and blue | 2: red bag and kimono, denim shorts | 3: black tank, statement necklace, denim shorts | 4: printed maternity tank, shorts
1: floral kimnono, skinny jeans | 2: ninja baby tee, maternity jeans | 3: striped tee at 40 weeks pregnant
Maxi Skirt Outfits:
My existing elastic waisted jersey maxi skirts saw me through both pregnancies. And despite the different brands and low price points, none got stretched out (even when worn around a third trimester bump!) so I could go back to wearing them post-baby too.
1: black and grey, yellow clutch | 2: print mixing and a maxi skirt | 3: maternity printed tank, black maxi skirt
1: graphic tee, maxi skirt | 2: layering up a maxi skirt | 3: red bag, neutral outfit | 4: pastel pink and purple
I hope that you found this post interesting or useful! I'd love to know what your favourite outfit was, and feel free to share or pin this guide for others. I made a second trimester outfit inspiration post too.

Really cute looks Mica! My favorite is the blue maxi with jean jacket. Looks so cool! I also SUPER LOVE the tshirt your sister gave you. It always makes me giggle. So glad you could still use it for the second pregnancy.

again, another super helpful post full of cute looks!!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing how you dressed at all different stages of pregnancy. I LOVE that bright pink maxi!
ReplyDeleteI repeat my outfits all the time unashamedly. Probably the reason why I am such a fail when it comes to fashion. Luckily repeating makeup looks isn't frowned upon!

I repeat outfits too, I think everyone does :) I try make them a little different with accessories, but in pregnancy I don't try as hard and I repeat everything head to toe a few times, haha!
DeleteI'm just impressed you got dressed at all! I have a feeling yoga pants would be my friend when I'm preggers!
ReplyDeletexx Leah / www.eatpraywearlove.com
I save them for the postpartum days ;) Having the capsule wardrobe helped with getting dressed too!
DeleteYay for another post like this! I think it is so helpful to see it all in one place. I love how you restyled things and really got use out of your basics.

DeleteI think a capsule wardrobe during your pregnancy is SUCH a great idea. You want to remain comfortable and if you've got pieces you love, it's perfect!
ReplyDeleteMusings & More
It worked really well, wish I had done it last time too, haha!
DeleteYour constant attention to tiny outfit details, such as accessories, and bags just blows my mind. There are times I accidentally re-wear the same outfit in two weeks and you never seem to wear the same one twice, but re-wear your entire wardrobe? Crazy! You are seriously so inspiration and "real" when it comes to dressing and staying functional! I admire it!
ReplyDeletehaha I am always trying to come up wit different ways to wear things, although it helps having a massively overflowing wardrobe. And a love for accessories ;) I'm looking forward to wearing more of it now as tings slowly settle down post-by.
DeleteYou look so cute with your bump! I love the idea of a capsule wardrobe. It really makes you maximize the pieces in your closet. I love how you remixed so many of yours! I seldom think of styling my dresses in different ways but I love how you switched up your accessories for a new look :) Thanks for the inspo!
ReplyDeleteMili
Accessories are great for changing up looks! :)
DeleteYou're such a stylish mama! Love all your outfits and love how you manage to mix and match so many things :)
ReplyDeleteHope you and baby are well!

You have such an eye and such a purpose for why you choose and why you wear the things that you do. I'm not sure what your office job is but I definitely think you should start doing styling in some way shape or form for other pregnant women. You have a gift. USE IT!

DeleteWow, you've got some amazing ideas and looks here, Mica! I love how you've demonstrated with some of the looks that you can wear the same dress multiple times and really create a different vibe if you change up the accessories! Thanks so much for sharing, beautiful, and I hope you're enjoying your new month!

I do love my accessories! :)
DeleteThese posts are so fun because I get to see outfits you wore before I started coming to your blog, so it's just kinda interesting! Especially the dresses like the Aztec print + lace LBD. I always thought it'd be really hard wearing dresses during pregnancy but you look really good in all of these :) Haha, the ninja baby tee is probably my favorite, it's so cute!
ReplyDeleteSam | http://mybeautycloud.com
I regret not adding that Aztec print dress to my capsule wardrobe - one of my favourites, not just in pregnancy.
DeleteSo cute lady! Can't wait to see your little bundle of joy.

such a fun post! your pregnancy style is fantastic!

This is the part of dressing for pregnancy that I'm totally dreading, because I remember how hard it was last time to find things that worked. But look at all these cute looks--I will keep all your remixes in mind to help me feel inspired in my third trimester. So impressed with all your remixing!
ReplyDeleteGlad i could give you some inspiration! I find the second trimester trickiest. Third trimester you just accept you can only wear a few things, second trimester you try things on and are shocked when they don't fit any more, haha!
DeleteIt's so amazing how you can create so many different looks. I hope you and baby are doing well!! :o)
