Here's what I wore to go visit family:
Necklace: vintage gold initial necklace
Shirt: Jeanswest 'Aubrey' pintuck yoke henley in deep teal (new purchase)
Skirt: Target grey marle maxi skirt
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual plus Disney Couture Winnie the Pooh bangle
Bag: Marc By Marc Jacobs Classic Q Fran bag with gold hardware in carob brown
This was taken about a week after baby's arrival - we were welcomed over to the in-laws for dinner. They very kindly suggested that we come over early, so we wouldn't be in a rush, and so that they could help look after baby for a few hours for us. It did take us about 3 hours to get ready and leave the house though, haha. At least we weren't late for dinner, as we had been planning to go over so early.
This top is one of my purchases from the Jeanswest 40% off sale before baby was born. It seemed like a nice easy option to wear, as the parcel had arrived a few days earlier. Probably could have used an ironing first, but I'm not beating myself up over it! Partially tucked the top in to the waistband of the skirt to try disguise the post-baby belly a little.
Last worn: grey maxi skirt, Converse, Marc by Marc Jacobs Fran bag. First time I've worn the top as it's a new purchase.
Here's what I wore to go on my first solo outing with baby and Cooper:
Sunglasses: Rayban new Wayfarers
Necklace: custom Cooper charm by Silhoupette
Shirt: Jeanswest 'Melanie' Stripe henley in black/coconut
Jeans: Jeanswest maternity skinny jeans in black
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs pretty nylon Eliz-A-Baby bag (new purchase)
Stroller: Steelcraft Strider Compact (new purchase)
Another new Jeanswest top! Again, this one was from my sale order. When we were in hospital, we got many people offering to help with housework and food preparation, so my clothes were generously washed and ironed. The tops being new additions at the front of my wardrobe means I've gone for those first though, because I'm looking for easy outfits and getting dressed as quickly as possible.
Wore this simple black and white outfit to head out for the first time with Baby T on my own - just a walk to the grocery store with baby and Cooper - and then to spend time with my family who visited us in the afternoon.
Learnt from the previous outing to my in-laws, where I still had my handbag and ended up with so much to carry, and just carried my things in baby T's bag so there was less to hold!
Last worn: Ray Ban, Jeanswest maternity skinny jeans, Converse (see above). First time I've worn the top and bag on the blog as they are recent purchases.

ReplyDeleteThanks Sheila! He's adjusting to life with baby, he's very confused by his new baby brother, but getting used to him and more comfortable with him every day :)

ReplyDeleteHow is Cooper dealing with the new sister ?
I think you look marvellous and can only imagine that you are getting use to all the new things.
hehe, I saw your comment on my other post too. cooper loves his baby brother, gets more used to him every day :)
DeleteYou look great Mica! I can't believe you have time to blog. I really like the stripe top on you. I miss having walks with my baby in his stroller.

Yep, I get a few minutes to myself here and there as baby naps so I can build up a blog post. Not at the same rate as before, but every now and then I can post :)
Deleteloving these comfy henleys -- so cute! can't believe you're getting around so much right after having baby T. love cooper's face in that first photo, he looks confused! haha

Yep, trying to keep active to help the recovery! :)
DeleteYes, the handbag transition might be a bit of a crisis for you ;D. How's Cooper going? I know you will be, but be mindful with him. My little poodle was a shocker around children. Never did harm, but boy, there was potential.
ReplyDeleteHow good are people that do some housework for you!!!!! Xx
haha, too many bags, not enough hands! An interesting handbag problem to have!
DeleteGrowing up around dogs I know to always keep an eye on the two of them - don't want Cooper upsetting baby or baby upsetting Cooper! :)
And yes, we are so lucky to have people who came over to help with housework and cooking in the early stages - was so helpful!
Congrats beautiful and you are definitely glowing!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the baby cuddles.
Really like the maxi skirt, I've been looking for one for some time but it's hard since I'm so short X
I'm a shortie too, I find trying them on in store helps :)
DeleteYou are looking so gorgeous post-baby! I am hoping I look like that when that happens :)
ReplyDeleteLove the striped top! And yay for having people to clean/do laundry for you!
Yes we are so blessed to have people helping us with housework! :)
DeleteThat grey skirt looks so comfy! Perfect meeting of casual without looking lousy!

Very understandable Mica! Only blog when you can doll. So nice of your family. I bet everyone had a great time. How is Cooper adjusting to the baby?
ReplyDeleteCooper is slowly getting used to his little brother! :) Quite an adjustment for him though, baby crying can interrupt his usual nap times sometimes haha!
DeleteYeah, newborns have a way of making the world revolve around them. :) I can't imagine trying to keep up a regular blogging schedule with a new baby! You look amazing and I love your "first outing" outfit with the striped top and skinnies! Congrats on Baby T!
ReplyDeleteGina -- On the Daily Express
Thanks! It's nice just being able to post when I can - plus I don't always have an outfit as some days I do just stay in PJs! haha!
DeleteI love that you are wearing "non-maternity" styles...you look cute and still comfortable:)
ReplyDeleteAesthetic Lounge
The jeans are maternity ones though, definitely couldn't be back in my regular jeans a few days after giving birth!
DeletePersonally I'm a massive fan of colour so I prefer your first look just cos I think the colour reflects onto you skin and makes it glow! But you look great in both and really appropriate for a new mum. I hope all is going well with the change? I have just started following you on bloglovin. I will leave my link as I would love you to also follow. (but no pressure!)
