Dresses, Converse and Alexander McQueen Skull Scarves. September Purchases

Dresses and Converse twice in a row! Such an easy option for a stay at home mum. I've worn these two dresses one after the other before as well, just back in the cooler winter weather. Now the spring weather is here to stay, the tights are firmly packed away and it's back to bare legs!

Here's what I wore to go out for lunch with baby and Cooper:
away from blue asos grey colour block skater dress converse skull scarf
SunglassesRayban new Wayfarers
ScarfAlexander McQueen magenta skull scarf in roses print
DressAsos grey skater dress (on sale!)
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black

Thought I'd give this dress another go, after realising after I bought it that I don't really wear neutral dresses. Hopefully I can make this one a wardrobe keeper and actually wear it.

My only problem with this outfit was that when I went out with baby T in his carrier, I kept tugging at the skater hem of the skirt as it caught in the breeze. I'm glad spring allows me to wear pretty dresses without needing tights, but it does make me more conscious of flyaway hems!

Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarer, Alexander McQueen skull scarf, Asos skater dress, Converse.

Here's what I wore to go to my mother's group meeting today:
SunniesRayban new Wayfarers
ScarfAlexander McQueen pink pashmina in skull and floral print
DressAtmos&Here navy stripe tee dress
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
BagMarc by Marc Jacobs pretty nylon Eliz-A-Baby bag

I really liked the outfit combination from the previous day, despite the flying skirt issue, so repeated it again. Skull scarf, dress and Converse is such a nice, easy outfit. I do prefer this outfit over the previous one though, only because I adore this dress! It's quite a thick material so I want to get the most wear out of it I can before the days get too warm for it.

Wore this out to my mothers group meet up with baby T. Although I did have to be careful about how I sat down sometimes, as baby T isn't mobile I'm wearing dresses while I can. I know it's only a matter of time before I'll be running around after an adventurous crawling little baby, and no doubt my go-to outfits will change again!

Last worn: Wayfarers (above), Alexander McQueen skull scarf, striped tee dress, Converse (see above), Marc by Marc Jacobs baby bag.

My September Purchases:

Another month already! While I haven't yet worn all of my August purchases (will post about that later!) I do want to share my September purchases. Just like the previous months, I'll be trying to wear each item twice over the next few weeks and reflecting on each new wardrobe addition after I've done so. You can see my goals and why I'm doing this here. Just like last month, I've already returned something, and I'm hoping to get a lot of wear out of the remaining items.

What I bought:
Zalora maxi skirt (returned)
Ruffle hem tank
Willow printed tee dress
California drop waist tee dress

Boots and Skinny Jeans: Printed Shirt, Grey Tee

Ended up taking photos with boots and skinny jeans twice in a row! I really like wearing boots and jeans in cooler weather, it doesn't last long here in Queensland.

Here's what I wore to visit family and go shopping:
SunniesRayban new Wayfarers
Necklacecustom Cooper charm by Silhoupette
Top: Jeanswest 'Ruby' mixed print shirt
JeansJeanswest 'Fiona' skinny leg pant in shiraz
ShoesAcne pistol boots in "skin"

It's the first time I've worn this shirt on the blog, but not the first time I've worn it. I bought it back when I was still pregnant and Jeanswest were having one of their 40% off sales. For those early days of breastfeeding, a button up shirt over a breastfeeding singlet is a great outfit idea when you have to get out of the house and you want to feel dressed up. I just wasn't organised enough when I wore it to get a photo for the blog.

Wore the shirt this time with skinny jeans and ankle boots, just like the suggested styling idea on the site. Was such a nice outfit, even if I didn't fully think it through. Baby T was being babysat by family as I had a few errands to run in the morning, and then we had a family BBQ in the evening. When I went to leave baby for a few hours I realised that I hadn't brought a bag for my own things - they were just in the baby bag! Ended up carrying my wallet and phone around in the morning, wishing I'd thought a little longer about what I was doing to have realised I'd need a handbag for when the baby bag was left behind. Just too used to going out and about without a handbag now I guess.

Last worn:Ray-Ban wayfarers, burgundy skinny jeans, Acne pistol boots. First time I've worn the shirt on the blog.

Here's what I wore to spend the morning at the beach:
SunniesRayban new Wayfarers
Jacket: Just Jeans dark brown cropped cotton trench coat
Necklacecustom Cooper charm by Silhoupette
TeeGrey v-neck tee with rolled sleeves
JeansJeanswest blue skinny jeans
ShoesAsos Cleo leather boots in tan
BagRebecca Minkoff coated canvas mini MAC in berry stripe

This tee is becoming my beach wear tee! Wore it to the beach last time too. It was a much colder and windier day this time around, but we went to out local dog beach despite the weather. It gave baby T his first chance to see the sea - after he slept through it the last time - and let Cooper stretch his legs and run off-leash. We left the baby bag in the car and wore baby in his carrier, so I made sure to take a handbag with me this time to have somewhere to store my camera and phone as we walked. Didn't want to make the same mistake as the day before! A cute little clutch was all I needed for the essentials.

The boots seemed like a good idea that morning to keep my feet dry and warm as we walked along the sand, as it was much too cold to go for a dip. We ended up walking in a lot of muddy and wet sand as the tide was out though, so leather boots were not the best choice. My feet stayed dry, but the boots look a little worse for wear! There are one or two days a year I wish I had Wellington boots, this was one of those days.

As this is the second wear of the grey tee from my August purchases and I'm trying to review what I buy, the final verdict:
I love this tee. I've only worn it with denim so far, but I know from experience that it pairs well with skirts too. Having this tee in other colours meant this purchase was always going to be a keeper, and something I knew I would wear. I'm really pleased I could score it on sale, as it's always been sold out in my size every time I've seen it previously. Very pleased with this purchase! I've actually worn it more often than I've taken photos of it, such a good tee.

Last worn: Wayfarers (see above), cropped trench coat, grey oversize tee, skinny jeans, Asos Cleo boots, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC.

Good and Bad: Wine Tee, Printed Skinny Jeans | Stripes, Owl Print and Maxi Skirt

Two very different outfits to share today! One that I loved, and one that was more comfortable than photogenic.

Here's what I wore to have a visitor over:
TeeAtmos&Here rolled sleeve oversized tee in wine
JeansSass and Bide 'The Archetype' feather print zippora skinnies
Shoes: Wittner 'Bolla' black bow detail flats

Nice casual jeans and tee outfit! I knew I wanted to wear these fun printed jeans, but I couldn't decide on a top. I've worn them with black and grey before, but wanted to try something a little different. Ended up picking this lovely burgundy tee, a different colour combination to what I'd normally go for. I think it worked quite well colour wise, and I love the slouchy tee with the fitted jeans. Would be so happy to wear something like this every day, one of my favourite outfits!

I was at home most of the day as I had someone over, and I only really went out to walk Cooper so I didn't need any extra layers to keep warm. Which was a good thing, as I'm really not sure what scarf or jacket would have looked nice with this! Used up all my thinking power wondering if burgundy and yellow would go nicely together ;)

Last worn: burgundy oversize tee, Sass and Bide zippora, black ballet flats.

Here's what I wore to go to the doctors:
ScarfLiquorish owl print scarf in grey (on sale!)
TopAtmos&Here 3/4 sleeve stripe tee in berry white (on sale!)
SkirtJeanswest plain jersey black maxi skirt (on sale with extra 40% off!)
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black

Bit of a cooler day with some rain, so I layered up for a short trip out to the doctors with baby T. I've paired this scarf and skirt together before, on an outfit I wasn't completely happy with after looking at the photos. Wanted to try the combination again though, as it is incredibly comfortable!

Thought that it may look better with a slightly more fitted tee underneath, but after reviewing the photo, I'm thinking again that it's not the best combination. I do prefer this outfit over the previous time, but I think the scarf and the skirt together just have too much volume, what do you think? Maybe best to keep the big blanket scarves to outfits involving jeans.

Last worn: owl print scarf, striped tee, jersey maxi skirt, Converse.
