Leopard print tee, Asos and Sass & Bide further sale reductions

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, my Sass & Bide sale purchases arrived and I was eager to wear them right away! Casual Friday was the perfect reason to wear the printed tee.

Here's what I wore today:

Tee: Sass & Bide "New Day rising" tee
Necklace: Juicy Couture bonsai tree charm on a chain, both gifts from my bestie.
Bracelets: The usual
Jeans: JeansWest 'Spoylt' straight leg pale blue jeans
Shoes: Nine West
Bag: Balenciaga 2009 GSH day in tempete

Closeup of the accessories which I kept simple as it's a neon leopard print tee - it doesn't need much else ;)

Also got a couple of sale emails I wanted to share.

Wrap dress, outfit inspiration websites

Feeling better and so back to the office today. Had some very productive meetings, lots to think about on a professional front.

Kept my outfit simple :) I love wrap dresses as they are so easy to wear but look very polished too.

Here's what I wore:

Dress: Asos
Singlet underneath: JeansWest
Necklace: gift from DH, don't recall the brand
Bracelets: the usual plus some made by a friend
Shoes: New Look
Bag: Louis Vuitton MM damier azur neverfull

Closeup of accessories:

I'm very excited that my Sass & Bide sale picks arrived today so I'm planning on wearing one of them tomorrow :)

Had a discussion on the Effen Haute forum today about what websites you browse for fashion or outfit inspiration. I find blogs really useful, and I'm often saving outfits or pictures to come back to later. Sometimes I'll leave the computer and try an outfit right away - like the rolled up jeans and heels look. Which doesn't work on shorties like myself!
I've never come across a retail website that I could think of going to specifically for outfit inspiration, do you have any?

The most basic of outfits, What I wore

As I wasn't feeling too well today I worked from home instead. Not as busy as the office, but it does mean it feels a little lonely. Was glad to have Cooper there to cheer me up - he decided to nap under the sofa for most of the morning which was hilarious to see. He really misses the Christmas tree I guess!

He looked so cute with his little fuzzy face poking out from under the sofa, made me giggle!

I always find it's better to go through the motions and get dressed when I work from home, even if I'm not going to be seen by anyone. Makes it easier to think about work than sitting in PJs! DH even asked why I needed to take a photo of what I was wearing, as the only time I left the house was to walk Cooper.

Not every outfit is going to be pretty or stylish or fashionable, I'm just trying to document what I wear.  In fact I often think I really don't understand fashion at all, I just buy things I like (I still have a Chloe Paddington from 2005 even if it's not the "it" bag anymore). So apologies if you were looking for a fashionable outfit picture!

At my very heart I'm a comfort over style person, jeans and a tee was my "uniform" for a long time. I have more tees in my wardrobe than anything else. If only I didn't have to wear business casual to work everyday, they would get more use! It's nice to branch out now and then of course, but sometimes the familiar things are just what you need.

So here is what I wore today - falling back on my old default outfit of jeans and a tee.

Tee: Asos
Necklace: Chanel (via Reebonz)
Bracelets: The usual
Denim shorts: JeansWest
Thongs: Cotton On

If we had gone out anywhere other than walking Cooper, I'd have dressed this up with a fun scarf to add a bit of interest.

The Adventures of Tintin, What I wore, Balenciaga Part Time

Busy day today - first day back at work after the Christmas and New years break, and my sister's generous boyfriend took us all out to the movies.

We went to see "The Adventures of Tintin" movie. It was good. Would love to hear what you thought of the Tintin movie if you've seen it :)

I liked Snowy the dog, he was very cute! I think Cooper is more laid back and peaceful than Tintin's dog Snowy though.

hehehe!

Here's what I wore - I wore the same outfit to work and the movies.

Dress: French Connection Melanie striped sleeveless dress
Belt: Cotton On
Necklace: House of Harlow 5 station necklace in black and silver
Bracelets: The usual plus some freshwater pearl ones made by my friend
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs
Bag: Balenciaga 2010 Part Time GSH

I've made a couple of youtube videos of my Balenciaga part time bag if you are interested :)

This video shows how much a part time bag can hold (and stars the fluffy Cooper):

This video shows what the Balenciaga part time looks like when worn:

I have a few videos on my youtube channel of my handbags - I took them to add to the Balenciaga reference library threads on the Effen Haute Forum.

Sad Cooper!, What I wore

DH and I spent the morning taking down the Christmas decorations and tidying up.

Cooper was not amused, as he had been enjoying sleeping under the Christmas tree during December. Here's a pic of him using one of the presents as a pillow!

Cooper sat under the tree giving me the puppy dog eyes when the boxes for the tree and decorations came out! He was very sad to have to leave his favourite spot, but soon cheered up with a couple of treats :)

We went to my parents for dinner in the afternoon. We had a really delicious meal, and spent some time watching old home movies afterwards. Lots of fun!

Here's what I wore:

Top: Jeanswest
Scarf: Gift, Target
Necklace: Chanel (via reebonz)
Bracelets: The usual plus one freshwater pearl one made by a friend and a gifted glass pearl one.
Jeans: Sass & Bide
Shoes: Balenciaga sorbet RGGH studded sandals
Bag: Louis Vuitton MM damier azur neverfull

Closeup of accessories:

My parents have recently returned from a trip and brought us some gifts - this beautiful necklace was a Christmas present made by one of my friends. I put it on right away, and loved the way it looked with what I was wearing. Also got some really nice tops for work from my parents and grandparents that I plan to wear as soon as it's cooler.

Feeling very blessed having such generous friends and family :)

Happy New Year, What I wore

Happy New Year! Hope everyone has had a great start to 2012!

Cooper made it through the fireworks without too much stress wearing his little thundershirt. Really good investment as it kept him calm and he only barked once or twice, so we were all very happy ringing in the new year.

After a late night we had a relaxing 1st of January, with dinner at a friends house in the evening. Delicious food and wonderful company, we stayed quite late! Here's what I wore:

Dress: Vero Moda (via asos)
Belt: came with dress
Necklace: Made by a friend
Bracelets: The usual, plus red crystal bracelet made by a friend, and Hermes Kelly double tour bracelet in Rubis
Shoes: New Look
Clutch: Balenciaga Sang 2010 GSH flat clutch

Closeup of jewelry:

If you're interested I did a short video a while ago showing how much the flat clutch can hold and size comparisons with some other Balenciaga bags.

NYE 2011 What I wore, Sass & Bide sale steals

Hope everyone has had a fantastic 2011 and that 2012 is even better!

Does anyone have any plans for NYE?

DH and I have been out to the shops this morning but are spending the evening staying home watching the fireworks on TV and making sure our dog Cooper isn't too stressed by local displays.

I wanted to wear something comfortable but NYE calls for some sparkle too, so I'm wearing my French Connection foil singlet, RM Nikki metallic silverstreak bag and some blingy jewelry.

Top: French Connection (via asos)
Necklace: Chanel (via reebonz)
Bracelets: The usual plus a swarovski crystal one made by a friend
Jeans: Sass & Bide
Shoes: Cotton On thongs
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Nikki in silverstreak

Close up of Jewelry:

I also made my last purchase of 2011 - I picked up two tops from the Sass & Bide online sale.
I got the new day rising tee and the musical genius tank. Looking forward to wearing them in the new year :)
If you haven't already, do check out the sale, they add new things to it occasionally.

However you are celebrating, have a great end to 2011! :)
