What I wore:
Dress: JayJays feather print maxi dress
Shoes: Wittner 'Jasmarie' studded sandals
Bracelets: the usual plus gifted silver cuff
Bag: Balenciaga giant hardware Day bag in 2009 tempete
Why I wore it:
The style challenge for the day was 'hair bling' and so I decided to wear this little sparkly star hair barrette that I've held onto since high school. I rediscovered it recently as part of my wardrobe clear out. I've been holding onto it for years despite never wearing it! It was fun to wear it for a day, as I usually tuck my hair behind my ear anyway. Wore this to have a post-Christmas BBQ with family.Last worn: feather print maxi dress, studded sandals, Balenciaga Tempete day bag.
Other ways to wear: printed maxi dress for the beach, studded sandals and a wrap dress, Balenciaga Tempete day bag and skinny jeans.
Beautiful blue maxi dresses under $100:
What I wore:
Scarf: Hermes twilly worn as a headscarf (Confettis D'ex-Libris from 2009)
Necklace: gifted Eye Candy LA gold and turquoise cuff necklace
Dress: Jeanswest 'Chantelle' crochet detail blue printed maxi dress
Shoes: Cotton On thin strap thongs in black
Bag: Balenciaga giant hardware Day bag in 2009 tempete
Why I wore it:
Wore this to tackle the stores soon after Boxing Day. Hubby had some things he wanted to buy and I was curious to check out some of the sales. After my bestie sent me pics of what the crowds looked like on boxing day itself, we followed her advice and left toddler T with his grandparents, which was the best decision. We got to the stores shortly after they opened on the 27th, but it was still madness! I usually wait until January before I venture out to the stores, this was the first year I've ever attempted the post-Christmas crowds in December. We did pick up some bargains but I'm not sure I'll be attempting it again next year! Might stick with online shopping. The style challenge for the day was 'hats', but shopping isn't the best environment for a hat so I just wore one of my Hermes twillies in my hair instead. I also had the chance to wear my new necklace I got for Christmas, a gift from my wonderful bestie. I really liked the way it looked with this dress, even though everything else I was wearing was silver, I think it worked.
Last worn: Hermes Twilly, blue printed maxi dress, black thongs, Balenciaga tempete day bag (above).
Other ways to wear: Hermes Twilly as a bracelet, blue printed maxi dress for a first birthday party, Balenciaga day bag for the office.

Nice dress! I love the print. Gemma x

i bet those maxi dresses are the most comfortable thing!! looking great, mama!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, your body changes so quickly you cant rely on things that fir one day to fit in the upcoming week as well. And I feel like I have entered the stage where everything I attempt to wear is just plain uncomfortable.
ReplyDeleteLinda, Libra, Loca: Beauty, Baby and Backpacking
Yep, I'm finding that a lot now I'm in the third trimester too. It's tricky dressing a growing bump every day! Fun too though :)
DeleteLove the print on the dress! U look lovely!
ReplyDeleteThestyletune.blogspot.com
You look so pretty in blue! Love your new necklace in the second outfit. Fun to try something a little different with your hair. I feel like I always do the same thing.

Straight A Style
Yes style challenges are great for encouraging me to try new things, even if it's just a small change :)
DeleteLoving your blue maxi looks! I too have held onto a few accessories from high school that I just dont wear. I'm glad you had it though to use for your hair bling prompt. I believe that was a day I skipped. I have nothing of the sort. haha
ReplyDeletePost Christmas sales her madness here too. Of course, I left the baby and man at home to tackle the crowds. (; I managed to score some awesome sweaters 40% off! It was worth the crowds and stress. (; Have a lovely weekend Mica!
I really should get rid of it, I have held onto far too much from high school haha!
DeleteI'm glad you did so well in the sales! I think I still prefer shopping them online, the crowds were really bad!
I love the color of that bag! And love the color of your station necklace! Goes with everything

You look great. Love the bag.

These worked! and I was happy to read you left the baby with the grandparents in order to go to the sale.. I have seen so many sad, tearful eyed babies at malls that I feel so bad for them. Specially when its in crowded places.
ReplyDeleteIt was just SO crowded! There wasn't a lot of room I'm glad we didn't try navigating the crowds with a stroller! Usually he doesn't mind coming shopping with me, haha. But post-Christmas sales we will definitely not be attempting with a stroller!
DeleteYou look so beautiful in both outfits, Mica! I, too, like to cherish items I've had for years and I also still have some things from High School, which I feel was just yesterday; scary how time flies! I know, it's the same way here in the states on Black Friday. The stores are crazy and people get injured over fist fights over a t.v. that they'll be tossing out next year to buy a new one again. It's very dangerous! I don't know if it's like that over there, but it was certainly wise for you to leave Toddler T at home!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have an amazing day and weekend ahead, beautiful!

Jalisa

Oh it's not as pushy or as bad as the black Friday sales - we've heard all the deaths and injuries from them every year, it's scary! It's just crowded and I don't do well in crowds.
DeleteLove the first dress... I can't see the hair clip too clearly, though... but the second look, that headband looks great! Nice use of hair accessories!

haha thank you! I certainly don't feel flawless!
DeleteI hear you Mica! I use to shop the stores right after Christmas and it would be MADNESS. LOL I would be so tired afterwards. I now shop online, but feel you can get some better deals by going into the store. Glad you left the little one home. Love the prints of both maxi dresses :) Hair accessories are cute.

I think you can find better deals online sometimes! Especially in sales, there's more chance of finding your size online ;)

ReplyDeleteMica you look absolutely adorable with the headband <3 I love the paisley print and blue is really a beautiful colour on you (enhances your gorgeous blue eyes)
ReplyDeleteAwww, your cute belly, Mica! <3 Haha, we also leave our little one with his grandparents every now and then while shopping. It would bore him anyway. :) Beautiful artsy dresses, Mica! Especially your first one, looks gorgeous with the accessoiries. Have a lovely weekend!

Maxis and baby bumps are a wonderful combination!
ReplyDeleteYou sure know how to rock a maxi dress - looking fabulous as always!
ReplyDeleteBoxing sale is great, but I really hate the crowd and how rude people get to pick up stuff. I guess comfy dresses are best for this stage of pregnancy, at least you can be comfortable and still look pretty! x
ReplyDeletewww.elabellaworld.com
Luckily we didn't come across many rude people, although it was very crowded!
DeleteSo beautiful♥♥♥

I have saved too much from high school I think! I still have my old school uniform somewhere I'm sure....need to be better at decluttering!
DeleteYour baby belly is just the cutest doll! You are just looking amazing in these maxi dresses x
ReplyDeleteFlorals&Smiles
Oh, your belly is adorable! I miss being pregnant and stretching things over a growing bump.
ReplyDeleteI lived in maxis during all three of my pregnancies!
Maxis are a great go-to in pregnancy! And always long enough to cover the bump, haha!
DeleteI'm jealous at your summer weather! And good work on leaving the kiddo at home... probably would have been too crazy at the mall.
ReplyDelete7% Solution
Gotta take advantage of what works! Love the dresses you wore. That sparkly barrette you've held onto since high school was a great way to add that sparkle to your hair :D
