Purple Tee, Printed Skirt, LV Neverfull, Patent Heels | Knit Jumper, Printed Dress, Pistol Boots, MbMJ Fran Bag

Here's what I wore to work on Monday:

Top: Cotton On purple long sleeved top
Skirt: Vintage pencil skirt from The Thrifty Kitten
ShoesWittner 'Lumen' heel in patent leather
Bracelets: the usual
BagLouis Vuitton MM damier azur neverfull

A very similar outfit to the last time I wore this skirt. I had planned to wear a nice warm knit jumper as the top, but it was more oversized than I remembered and didn't look good with the skirt. Really needs a more fitted top, so I dug out this old long sleeved top. The purple worked well with the skirt last time, so went with it again.

Last worn: vintage skirt, Wittner heels, LV damier azur neverfull. First time I've worn the top on the blog.

Here's what I wore to work today:

JumperAsos crochet shell top in cream
DressFrench Connection 'Woodblock wonder' panache dress in white/geranium rose
ShoesAcne pistol boots in "skin"
Bracelets: the usual plus Edenborough Evans 'Ivy' silver cuff
BagMarc By Marc Jacobs Classic Q Fran bag with gold hardware in carob brown

Last year I saw a few bloggers trying the "jumper over dress" look and looking great doing so. So I was excited to give it a try now it's cooler. I don't seem to have the perfect top for it though - it's a tricky thing to master! It's not as simple as just picking one I've found, you have to think about length and fit of the top. Still not sure if I like this look on me, but it did keep me cosy all day. If you have any tips for layering a jumper over a dress, please share! :)

Last worn: crochet jumper, printed dress, Acne pistol boots, Marc by Marc Jacobs Fran.

  4. I like how you really planned your workwear everyday! Sometimes I'm so lazy and feeling very "in attractive" all I do was throw on some good old cotton t and a pair of dark denim and off I go lol

    1. haha I prefer to sleep in as long as possible in the mornings, so always pick what I'm wearing the night before. Means I can be as relaxed as I want when finding something to wear :) And dresses are my go to on those kind of days - easy! :)

p.s. I like to add a belt if going for a knit over a dress - like this http://www.thankfifi.com/2012/08/camouflage-matchy-matchy/ or if you have pockets in your dress, tuck a bit of the jumper into one of them.x

  7. I love your skirt and dress!! They're both such gorgeous prints. I think the jumper over dress look works well the way you did it - I totally thought that was a skirt. And of course, your bags are fabulous as always :)

    1. A belt would be really nice! I'd love to pair it with a skinny navy belt but I don't have one, an item on my shopping list definitely :)

  24. looking fabulous Mica! love the first look with that cute pencil skirt.

I think the number one thing for me when picking a jumper for a skirt is that because it's usually baggy I feel I look like a giant potato sack lol

but that's why I always make sure to cinch my waist in with a belt ;)
