Instead of just sharing what I've bought, and having the goal of wearing it twice in a month after buying it, I thought I'd do a wrap up and show how each purchase was worn.
Let me know if you find these kinds of posts interesting!
I didn't buy anything in February, and ended up doing a no buy month / Frugal Feb with Kiki from According to Kiki. Partly because the third trimester is not the time to be buying any new clothes. Nothing fits! As can be seen by the one-off wears of a couple of non-maternity pieces I bought.
What I bought in January:
How I wore my purchases over January and February:
- Jeanswest Carla Maternity Cut out tank (non-maternity version) (worn 6 times)
- Jeanswest Sol Maternity jacquard tank (worn 4 times)
- Jeanswest Florence print long line tank (worn once)
- Balenciaga Day bag in 2005 magenta (worn 12 times)
- Cotton On 'Gemma' cocoon kimono in Laos blossom navy print (worn 4 times)
- Slim gold Havaianas (worn 10 times)
- Be Free maternity/nursing bras - worn countless times, but never visible on the blog.
- Atmos&Here Betsy jersey wrap dress in watercolour print (worn 3 times)
- Atmos & Here Arlene wrap top in navy (worn once)
The Balenciaga day bag I bought has had the most wear, which is good since it took up most of the budget!

You can see my third trimester capsule wardrobe starting to come through with this wrap up of photos - I'm sticking to just a handful of pieces that still fit the baby bump at the moment!
Overall I'm pretty pleased with how well I've used the things I bought last month, although I did expect to get more than one wear each out of the non-maternity tops I bought, the baby bump just grew too quickly. Both pieces will get lots of wear post-baby.

I need to find a time to go shopping too! You have had a really good selection :)
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. You can definitely see your belly growing a bit with the round up photos and it's so cute. You know what? I love posts like this. It's interesting to see what people buy and how people wear them. And it's lovely that you ended up having a no purchase month!

Maxi dresses are great for pregnancy! I'd love to see what you are wearing in your pregnancy :)
DeleteI think this idea of keeping track how often you wore what you purchased is a great one...I'm totally interesting in reading such posts.
ReplyDeleteLovely outfit recap! so lovely to see the development of your pregnancy, you always look so pretty.
Thanks Ivana :) It is nice seeing a bunch of pregnancy photos together, shows how the bump is growing! :)
DeleteWow, you really did a good job of wearing your new pieces!! I can't quite wear most of my new things that much since now they're usually statement pieces and it would be weird to wear them once a week, haha! But I do wear them a good amount

haha yes you are still getting lots of wear from your pieces! I'm trying to add more basics to my wardrobe so it would make sense I could wear them more :)
DeleteAmazing monthly purchases! You look so chic!

Thanks Corinne, I'll need to give that a go! Although it might be a long post with all the photos I have, haha!
DeleteIt's so cool to see how you actually wore your purchases, especially the Balenciaga bag since I see it in almost all of the pictures :) I really liked the look of the black cut out tank - the design that I saw in the video was pretty!

Love the addition of seeing how many times you have worn and restyled it. I always rewear and restyle thing (they just don't always make the blog).

Yes it's great to look back and see all the different ways you can wear things :)
DeleteI never thought a bright-colored bag could be so versatile, but you wore it 12 times! Makes me think I could pull it off. It's great that you made it such a closet staple.
ReplyDeleteI think it works so well as I wear a lot of blue, it's a very nice colour to pair with blue, haha! :)
DeleteI do find my bright bags quite versatile!
Love that you actually show how your outfits are worn(I normally do that too within by budgets) because that is so rare. Plus it's nice to see how people style things. Stopping by from the linkup

I think it was nice to look back on it too, I'll definitely do it again in future! :)
DeleteI noticed how much you love printed items, especially striped ones :) You look lovely as always!!

Yep I love my stripes, haha! They look great on their own or with other prints! :)
DeleteYay to our no buy! I sort of failed on the toddler end of things, but I successfully managed to go a straight 29 days without a single top, bottom, accessory, or anything for myself. I'm so proud! I did notice here and there a few things I'm really in need of. Whether it be for the season change, or replacing worn out pieces of my wardrobe. I think I'll allow myself to fill those holes this month and do another no buy in April. Honestly, I can't believe how easy it ended up being! Aside for the toddler clothes, of course. (;
ReplyDeleteI'm proud of us both too! I think Feb was easier than no buy July as there were less tempting sales...haha! I'll always have a hard time not buying toddler clothes, I love how cute everything is! Plus they grow so quickly they always need more...
DeleteI love seeing this round-up of what you bought, and I think you made some great purchases in January! That wrap dress is my favorite! And way to go for not shopping in February.
ReplyDeleteI think being in the third trimester helped with not buying anything for sure!
DeleteYou purchased some really nice things. Love those wrap dresses and maternity tops. Those bags are beautiful.

It's funny how a growing belly kind of forces you into a capsule wardrobe, isn't it? Fortunately you have some great pieces in there, and look quite put together in your photos. How much longer do you have to go?
ReplyDeleteI noticed that you're wearing the same bags frequently. Did I miss you reselling some, or are you just really loving those bags at the moment?
Not much longer, just 3 weeks now! Crazy how fast it's flown by! :)
DeleteI was really loving my new magenta bag so I wore that a lot this month, but I have been rotating through a couple of favourite bags at the moment too, the rest are all in storage in boxes under the bed, not the easiest to reach while in the third trimester, ha!
Thank you all for your kind comments and words on the new post format - glad you enjoyed it! :)
