Third Trimester Pregnancy Outfit Inspiration: 55 Outfit Ideas

Third trimester pregnancy dressing comes with it's own set of challenges! A lot of the regular wardrobe options that could be worn in the second trimester are outgrown in the third trimester, reducing the outfit possibilities and making getting dress rather uninspiring.

For my recent pregnancy, I implemented a third trimester pregnancy capsule wardrobe to try make it a little more fun.

The third trimester is definitely the time to repeat outfits that make you look and feel good, and to do so unashamedly! Find things that work for you and wear them as many times as you like. I've included 55 outfit ideas for the third trimester below, from both of my pregnancies. You can click on the links under the images to view more info about them.

Office Outfits:

In the third trimester, I still wore my ASOS maternity pencil skirts often, but the standout pieces were my wrap dresses. They were such an easy outfit that always fit the growing bump and never failed to look good. I wore wrap dresses a lot! I was able to find some regular non-maternity dresses in my wardrobe that still accommodated the baby bump too.

Maxi Dress Outfits:

Just like in the second trimester, I found many of my existing maxi dresses still accommodated the bump nicely in the third trimester. Anything stretchy works. My maternity maxi dress was worn often, as I love the pink colour, but I wore my non-maternity dresses too. Maxi dresses have the benefit of never getting indecently short as the bump grows and pulls them up, so you can get a lot of wear from your existing pieces.

Maternity Denim Outfits:

When I was in the final trimester over autumn my maternity skinny jeans were worn a lot. Recently, having an incredibly hot summer and being in the final weeks over a few heatwaves meant that I was wearing my denim shorts more. I bought all my maternity denim at Jeanswest, they were so perfect I didn't look elsewhere.

Maxi Skirt Outfits:

My existing elastic waisted jersey maxi skirts saw me through both pregnancies. And despite the different brands and low price points, none got stretched out (even when worn around a third trimester bump!) so I could go back to wearing them post-baby too.

  8. I repeat my outfits all the time unashamedly. Probably the reason why I am such a fail when it comes to fashion. Luckily repeating makeup looks isn't frowned upon!

    1. I repeat outfits too, I think everyone does :) I try make them a little different with accessories, but in pregnancy I don't try as hard and I repeat everything head to toe a few times, haha!

  12. Your constant attention to tiny outfit details, such as accessories, and bags just blows my mind. There are times I accidentally re-wear the same outfit in two weeks and you never seem to wear the same one twice, but re-wear your entire wardrobe? Crazy! You are seriously so inspiration and "real" when it comes to dressing and staying functional! I admire it!

  15. You have such an eye and such a purpose for why you choose and why you wear the things that you do. I'm not sure what your office job is but I definitely think you should start doing styling in some way shape or form for other pregnant women. You have a gift. USE IT!

  21. These posts are so fun because I get to see outfits you wore before I started coming to your blog, so it's just kinda interesting! Especially the dresses like the Aztec print + lace LBD. I always thought it'd be really hard wearing dresses during pregnancy but you look really good in all of these :) Haha, the ninja baby tee is probably my favorite, it's so cute!
