Jacket: Barkins beige trench coat
Scarf: Gifted Burberry cashmere tartan scarf from a friend
Necklace: House of Harlow gold mini key pendant necklace
Dress: French Connection star dancing jersey dress in red rust/almond
Shoes: Asos Cleo leather boots in tan
Bracelets: the usual plus gifted Ferragamo double wrap bracelet
Bag: Marc By Marc Jacobs Classic Q Fran bag with gold hardware in carob brown
Wore a bit of maroon for the final State of Origin match! Really like this dress and tall boots combination after trying it out before. And of course the maroon blended in nicely with all of the Queensland footy shirts around. Was pretty cool that Queensland won for the 8th year in a row :)

Here's what I wore to work today:
Jacket: Asos Black by Markus Lupfer printed leather jacket
Scarf: Alexander McQueen pink pashmina in skull and floral print
Necklace: gift from DH
Top: gifted grey team polo shirt
Skirt: Jeanswest zip detail ponte pencil skirt
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs logo plaque flats in black patent
Bracelets: the usual plus Marc by Marc Jacobs enamel turnlock stripey hinge black and white bangle and gifted Balenciaga classic pearly grey double tour bracelet
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff MAB mini in soft grey
The truth about this branded polo shirt I was given through my work is that it is two sizes too large. They ordered a batch to hand out to celebrate the success of a large project, and there were not a lot of size options available. This was the smallest, but at the time I didn't see it as an issue as I wasn't expecting to wear it often.
When we were asked to wear it again today, it was a little tricky. I couldn't tuck some of it into jeans or hide it under a hoodie like last time, as they are not the best mid-week office clothes. After comparing the options on facebook, I decided to just wear it with a pencil skirt. It was fun talking to the other ladies in the office and comparing the ways they had worn theirs today - a few of us are smaller than a size 12 so we were in the same situation with shirts too big.
Although my office is business casual and people do wear jeans every day of the week in the office, I do try to keep them just to casual Friday. Not every team or department is as relaxed with their dress codes, and I want to make a good impression. Will see if I change my tune when I have to wear the polo again next week of course!
Last worn: leather jacket, pink Alexander McQueen pashmina, polo shirt, pencil skirt, patent flats, Rebecca Minkoff grey MAM.

So beautiful outfits. I really like the grey bag :D
ReplyDeleteI love the star print dress and I especially like how you styled the black tights with brown boots! I feel your pain on the polo for work. I'm a teacher and we have several school pride tees that we are required to wear once in awhile...definitely not the most stylish shirts! I usually try to throw a blazer over it and pair it with a pencil skirt as well.

Good to know that other careers have this issue, hehe! :)
DeleteMica, I love that maroon, camel and purple together. It looks so good on you girl! I need to try that! HAHA I saw your dilemma with that shirt. I think you styled it well. It conceals the largeness of it. Two great outfits :)

Deletecute looks and that ferragamo bracelet is really nice! i've never really looked into their accessories before (i have a few belts that were gifts but that's about it!) but now you've made me curious :) love the classic trench and i like the way you wore your work shirt with a pencil skirt, i think the scarf kind of hides it in the end too even if you didn't have a hoodie ;)

Hehe you know I'm a sucker for pretty accessories by any brand! I like the two Ferragamo bracelets I have, both gifts and both beautiful :)
