What I wore:
Sunglasses: Ray-Ban new Wayfarers
Necklace: Ruby Olive Softies Ava elephant pendant teething necklaceDress: Kmart Tropicana sleeveless tiered maxi dress
Shoes: Rebecca Minkoff Georgina studded gladiator sandals in blush (on sale, 44% off!)
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC in aquamarine with python embossed leather (on sale!)
Why I wore it:
Last time I wore this dress I shared that I bought it after seeing it on Instagram. Quite a few of the #everydaystyle ladies have it, and I always smile when I see it pop up in my feed. It also makes me smile every time I wear it, such a cheerful colour. Perfect for a hot day and I love how the aquamarine Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag matches with the print on the dress. We had a fun morning attending rhyme time for some singing and the dancing with the boys, a quiet day.I don't always go matchy matchy with accessories, but the necklace and bag worked so wonderfully with this print I was glad I did it this time. I'll probably wear this similarly again, I liked it so much. It's only March but this is easily my favourite outfit of the year. Wouldn't change a single thing.
Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarer, coral printed maxi dress, studded gladiator sandals, Rebecca Minkoff aqua mini MAC.
Other ways to wear: coral printed maxi dress for Christmas day, studded gladiator sandals worn 30 ways, Rebecca Minkoff aqua mini MAC and pink vest.

What I wore:
Sunglasses: Ray-Ban new Wayfarers
Dress: MEV Havana maxi dress C/O Zibibo
Belt: Kmart thin gold glitter beltShoes: Balenciaga studded sandals in sorbet RGGH (on sale, 58% off!)
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff medium MAB tote in moon navy (on sale in black, or in blue)
Why I wore it:
Unlike the outfit above, I wore this for a much busier day. We had Baby Boy's weekly weigh and then a trip into the city for another specialist appointment, and family visiting in the afternoon. I really like this bright maxi dress as it's a nursing dress, perfect for a busy day and breastfeeding on the go.I kept thinking of this bag after sharing it (and all my other bags) in my wardrobe inventory post, as it's really only worn in the office. Thought this tote would be a good carry all for the folder of documents I bring along to appointments for Baby Boy. Unlike my neverfull, it's quite a stiff bag and not very flexible or easy to use when you have a baby on your hip. You can't just use one hand to dig around inside when it's on your shoulder due to the inflexible sides. It spent most of the time hooked onto the stroller which I actually didn't mind.
Pink and blue is one of those colour combinations I really enjoy, but this bag just isn't practical for stay at home mum life. I was annoyed by this bag most of the day. It's going back to sit in the wardrobe awaiting my return to work in a few months.
Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarer (above), Mothers En Vogue maxi dress, gold glitter belt, sorbet Balenciaga sandals, Rebecca Minkoff medium MAB tote.
Other ways to wear: Mothers En Vogue maxi dress and denim jacket, gold glitter belt in the office, studded Balenciaga sandals and maternity shorts, Rebecca Minkoff medium MAB tote and fit and flare dresses.

ReplyDeleteI love both looks. They're colorful perfection! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe bright printed maxi looks so fabulous on you, and I love how you played up the turquoise accents with your bag and necklace. Sometimes seeing an item on a person you like is the most powerful way to fuel your desire for it.

Yes browsing instagram often makes me want things!
DeleteI love that first dress. It is such a bright, happy color and pairs perfectly with your teal bag. I love those RM sandals too. I have them and cannot wait to wear them again this season. I like your color combo in the second outfit too. I tend to like stiffer totes myself.

I look forward to seeing you wearing yours again :) You're the inspiration behind me getting them!
DeleteLove all the bright accents in that first look! And I agree, pink and dark blue is a great combo! I don't really wear pink but I would always wear it with darker colors to tone it down a bit, haha

That floral maxi dress! I love everything about it--the colors, the print, the minty accessories you paired it with... LOVE. I also love the addition of the belt in your second look. It's such a little thing but it makes the outfit so fun! I hope the doctor's appointment went well for baby boy!
ReplyDeleteIt was only $25 too, such a bargain dress! :) The appointment did go well, thank you.
DeleteTwo pretty dresses! I'm partial to the first one though, probably because it's red.
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's actually coral :) Beautiful either way!

ReplyDeleteI like both dresses and i agree on your comment too: people are the ones that gimme the most stress when taking pictures. Just to think I'd have to explain...
haha yes, it's so normal to do online but trying to explain to people who don't follow blogs would be awkward....
DeleteThat floral maxi dress is so pretty on you! I love the bright colors for Spring and Summer and you pull it off perfectly! Especially with the bags!

I LOVE the gorgeous floral pattern of that dress!! Can you tell I'm ready for spring? :D
ReplyDeleteThe bag in the first outfit perfectly pulls the colours from the dress. I’d think you were on vacation if I saw you walking down the street in this (& didn’t know you lived in QLD!) haha

You look great in color Mica! Both solids and prints! Isn't blogging wonderful. I know many people (such as yourself) have encouraged me to step out of my style safety zone.

ReplyDeleteI am ordering a purple maxi dress, I am looking forward to owning it, they are comfy, easy to wear and pretty xox
Hope you love the purple dress when it arrives! :)
DeleteAw, you are so sweet - thank you for the shout-out! I ADORE the first dress - you look so gorgeous in all that colour. How do you feel in it? Like everyone's looking at you? I've realized that people are really more wrapped up in themselves to bother with me.
ReplyDeleteI love the pink/blue combo as well - a bit more subtle than the first, but so pretty on you. I hope you feel beautiful in these, Mica! You sure look it!
Thanks Sheila! :) I certainly don't feel too out-there in this dress, even though I'd feel that way in an outfit of separates if I pulled all the same colours together. It's a nice way to transition to a more colourful wardrobe :)
DeleteI need a dress like that first one! I've never been super into plain colored maxi dresses. I honestly have no idea why. I feel more comfortable in patterned ones. The bright orange just makes me so ready for Spring!
ReplyDeleteMost of my maxi dresses are printed, so I get you :)
DeleteThank you all for your kind comments!
