Blue Printed Dresses With Green Accessories - Rebecca Minkoff Mini 5-Zip Bag

This little green Rebecca Minkoff mini 5 zip bag has been on frequent repeat lately. It was a nice nod to the festive season over December and it's the perfect size for all my essentials when I'm out with the boys. I love how green and blue look together to so thought I'd group 3 of these recent blue dress and green bag outfits together onto one outfit post.

What I wore:

Bracelets: the usual plus Roie Designs labradorite bracelets
BagRebecca Minkoff emerald green mini 5-zip rocker bag (get 20% off with code "REAL")

Why I wore it:

First time I've worn this blue printed dress with green and I'm not sure why, I really liked this combination! It was a super hot day so picked this nice light dress, so easy to wear to church. It was just right for wearing to the Christmas fun fair and carol service in the evening too.

I decided not to wear a necklace and tied the tassels into a bow at the neckline instead. I picked some green bracelets to stack with my usual silver ones and match the green mini 5 zip bag. The rose gold sandals were great in the heat and they tied in with the gold zips on the bag nicely too.

DressJeanswest Rachel Lyocell chambray dress
ShoesWittner 'Jasmarie' studded sandals
BagRebecca Minkoff emerald green mini 5-zip rocker bag (get 20% off with code "REAL")

Why I wore it:

I'd planned something else to wear on this day but it was due to hit 38 degrees (100 Fahrenheit ) so I changed my mind and opted for a simple dress instead.

It was a busy morning with a big appointment for my son. I wasn't sure if we would be able to make the special Christmas messy play after it but thankfully the doctor was on time and we were able to quickly drive to the messy play morning. The boys had so much fun and with the extra shade and water play it wasn't too bad in the heat. Even if I did regret wearing this pretty dress a little when the boys got really messy, haha! Thankfully my dress stayed clean even all our legs ended up covered in blue slime! 😂

I really liked the green bag with the chambray dress, and the necklace was a fun way to add even more colour to my outfit. 💚

Last worn: chambray button up dress, Ruby Olive necklace, studded sandals, Rebecca Minkoff mini 5 zip bag (above).

Other ways to wearchambray button up dress and kimono, studded sandals and pencil skirt, Rebecca Minkoff mini 5 zip bag and yellow kimono.

Why I wore it:

This outfit felt very festive! With the navy and blue dress I added my green Rebecca Minkoff mini 5 zip bag again as well as this green and red statement necklace.

While it has 3/4 sleeves, this swing dress is a light viscose material and was perfect for a night out in the city. We took the boys our for dinner and then to the Enchanted Garden at Roma Street parklands. They string up lots of lights through the beautiful gardens there for Christmas and have music and fog...it's so beautiful and very magical to walk through.

Was such a humid night though, I was glad I just picked this light dress to wear!

Blue Summer Dresses Under $50:

How You Can Wear It:

Blue and green should definitely be seen! If you're not sure about trying the combination you can do it in a small way by picking a blue dress and adding green accessories. A green bag as a burst of colour like the first outfit is a nice way to ease into trying the colour combination, or you could try wearing two green accessories like I have in the second and third outfits with the green necklaces and bag.

Blue Printed Dresses And Blue Bags: Weekday Wear Link Up

More monochrome dress outfits for today's Weekday Wear Link up! Unlike last week's monochrome dress and bag combinations, this week they are two printed dresses and both blue. Easy options with longer sleeves for spring days.

What I wore:

Bracelets: the usual plus silver and turquoise bracelet stack set and old blue wood bead bracelet
BagRebecca Minkoff Regan Satchel Tote in moon

Why I wore it:

Decided to wear the Rebecca Minkoff Regan satchel with this blue printed dress as I needed something to hold water bottles and a few snacks for my son as we had a long but fun day of Christmas shopping planned with my sister. I'd picked this dress as although it's light it's got longer sleeves which work nicely to ward off the chill in the shopping centre aircon. It didn't appear that the aircon was working in the shopping centre though - or maybe it was just such a humid day it couldn't cope. Some stores were cool but walking through the main part of the shopping centre it was still quite warm.

It wasn't the most productive or successful day of shopping, but my son and I had fun with my sister anyway despite the issues that continued after the aircon failed and we set another date (and a different shopping centre location!) to get more done. Won't be going back to that shopping centre in a hurry! It was one we used to frequent when we were growing up and it's between both our houses so it's a good almost mid-point meet up but I think we will stick to other ones.

Kept my accessories simple in the heat, my little gold studded earrings and some blue and silver bracelets were all I wore, decided to go without a necklace with the tassels on the dress tied in a bow instead.

What I wore:

Shein navy flower print flowy swing dress with blue rebecca minkoff mini mac bag gold accessories | awayfromblue

DressShein navy flower print flowy dress (c/o)
ShoesNovo Tawny rose gold sandals
Bracelets: the usual plus Disney Couture Winnie the Pooh bangle
BagRebecca Minkoff 2012 sky grey mini MAC bag

Why I wore it:

Tried to dress up a little for our annual Santa photo! Of course it looked a little different this year with COVID restrictions, you aren't actually allowed to get within 1.5 meters of Santa. Still took the opportunity to dress up and get a nice family photo for Christmas 2020!

I picked this pretty floral print swing dress to wear as it's a light material, good for a hot day. It was an extremely humid day though and I kind of wished I'd picked something with shorter sleeves - while the long sleeves are a nice relaxed fit it still felt like a bit much with the heat. The curls in my hair didn't quite last the day either 😂 The red and blue in the dress did tie in well with the kid's photo outfits though!

The blue Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC wasn't quite a match with the navy dress, but I felt it was a complimentary shade and the gold hardware worked well with the gold sandals, bauble earrings and bracelets I wore to feel a little more dressed up for the photo.

How You Can Wear It:

It's easy to pick a handbag to wear with a printed dress - just chose one that matches a colour in the print of the dress. You can create a nice monochrome or tonal outfit that way depending on the colours of your dress.

Denim: Blue Dresses, Ankle Boots and Magenta Edie Crossbody Bag

I never tire of blue and pink together! I really like wearing this little magenta Edie crossbody bag with some of the many blue dresses in my wardrobe. Despite the different dresses here, I think it works so well with both!

What I wore:

Shoes: RMK Chester black ankle boots
Bracelets: the usual plus Marc by Marc Jacobs enamel turnlock stripey hinge black and white bangle and Hermes pink clic clac
BagRebecca Minkoff Edie small crossbody bag in magenta

Why I wore it:

Wore this for my May wardrobe clear out stall at Gladrags markets in Bulimba. It was a lot of fun. I made a lot more sales than my first market, and I ventured out of my stall a few times to wander through the hall. I ended up spending some of my earnings with the other sellers, but I got some great bargains too!

While this dress was maybe not the most practical choice for setting up my clothes racks, it was definitely very comfortable, and with the leather ankle boots the thick denim kept me cosy on a colder morning. I wasn't sure what necklace to wear with this, so opted for statement earrings instead.

Once again, the little Edie crossbody bag came in perfect for holding my essentials as well as a little cash float for my stall. I like how organised it is inside with the different compartments.

After my success at the markets that morning, I then took my son over to his friend's house for a playdate that afternoon.

Why I wore it:

Another day where it was warm enough to go bare-legged, even if I did have a slip under this dress and added the denim jacket on top for a little extra warmth! I liked this simple outfit for the school run and working from home. A dress is such an easy instant outfit, even when you do add an extra layer like a jacket to it.

I was also surprised to find that I haven't worn this magenta Edie crossbody bag with this navy printed dress before! I have worn this dress in the past with a lot of pink bags, but not this one yet, even though this dress is on its 28th wear. I'm hoping to do a 30 wears post with it later this year, when the weather is warm enough to get it out again!

Printed Dresses, Ankle Boots and Chloe Marcie | Weekday Wear Link Up

For today's Weekday Wear Link Up, I'm sharing some recent autumn outfits with printed summer dresses with ankle boots and my newest handbag purchase, the Chloe Marcie bag. Although the boots are tan and the bag is brown I think they are far enough apart that these outfits work.

What I wore:

blue printed dress in autumn with tan ankle boots chloe marcie bag | awayfromblue

Dress: Jeanswest 'Chelsea' printed dress
ShoesAtmos&Here tan Lola leather ankle boots
Bracelets: the usual plus Roie Designs howlite and hematite beaded bracelets
BagChloe Marcie medium shoulder bag in nut (new purchase)

Why I wore it:

A slightly cooler autumn day meant being able to get out my ankle boots! It was a very warm start to autumn, and it's still quite warm during the day, but it is starting to get a little more autumnal around here! I thought with the tan ankle boots and the brown Chloe Marcie bag this was a great way to autumn-ise this little summer dress. While it's light, the longer sleeves helped keep me warm.

Our plan was to go to the library to stock up on books for the upcoming long weekend and spend some time at the playground, but our time was cut a little short with the rain! It worked out though as we had someone coming round to the house to do a quote for some work that afternoon, and they were available earlier than expected. We were home earlier than expected with the rain too so they were able to come over!

Last worn: Jeanswest Chelsea dress, bracelet stack, tan ankle boots. First time I've shared the bag as it was a recent purchase.

Other ways to wearJeanswest Chelsea dress and pink bag, tan ankle boots and floral dress.

Why I wore it:

I probably should have added a denim jacket to this, as it was a little chilly that morning! I was glad I had a few errands to run at the local shopping centre after dropping the kids off at school so I could be indoors. Thankfully it really warmed up later in the day so I wasn't cold at school pickup!

This dress was such an easy instant outfit for such a busy day, as after I did some errands in the morning, I was working from home, had another errand to do in the afternoon, and then of course school pick up. One of those very busy days!

I really liked the neutral Chloe Marcie with this floral print tee dress. It's got so many colours in the print I often reach for natural accessories to wear with this dress.

Printed dresses can be worn after summer before things cool down too much just by adding a pair of ankle boots to keep you a little bit warmer!

Boho Printed Dresses and Denim Jacket: Autumn Layering With Rebecca Minkoff Bags

To try and change things up a little bit, I set my shorts aside and decided to wear some of my dresses that haven't been worn yet this year. I've been neglecting my dresses and skirts lately! With some cooler rainy weather, it was the perfect opportunity to add a light layer. The blue denim jacket works well with both these boho dresses, even though they are different styles. Denim jackets are classics!

What I wore:

ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs metallic mouse flats (on sale in black!)
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch C/O JORD
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote in plum

Why I wore it:

I like blue and purple together, so of course I've worn this purple mini MAB tote bag and blue dress together before. Although I don't have the baby bump this time!

I bought this dress 4 years ago and loved it so much, I wore it frequently and I was sure I'd be closer to 30 wears with it - this is only it's 14th wear! Having the blog to keep track of how many times I wear things has been eye opening.

No matter how many times it's been worn, I love this each time I wear it, and the blue dress and denim jacket work perfectly together. The purple bag is such a great accessory with it too. Wore this to run a few errands with the boys in the morning, with a trip to the library too.

The nice thing about this dress is that the ties at the neckline mean no necklace is required - really easy to wear!

Last worn: denim jacket, blue printed dress, gold mouse flats, Rebecca Minkoff plum MAB tote.

Other ways to weardenim jacket and pink shorts, blue printed dress layered for cooler weather, gold mouse flats in the office, Rebecca Minkoff plum MAB and maxi skirt.

Perfect for pregnancy: denim jacket in second trimester, blue printed dress in second trimester, gold mouse flats and maternity pencil skirts, Rebecca Minkoff plum MAB in third trimester.

Dress: Kmart Aztec print tiered little black dress

Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch C/O JORD
BagRebecca Minkoff micro Regan satchel in Harvest Gold

Why I wore it:

Another repeat here as it's not the first time I've worn this denim jacket and sundress together! Again, I liked the combo.

After a wet weekend, it was predicted to storm again. We had playgroup in the morning and a specialist appointment in the afternoon. Expecting it to rain, I added the denim jacket. Unlike the day above though, we weren't often in the aircon and I ended up taking the denim jacket off as soon as it heated up. Was such a humid day in the end. I was glad I'd worn such a floaty, light dress when I was sitting outside in the playground with the boys and left the denim jacket in the car.

Not the first time I've worn the mustard bag with the little black dress either, I love the way the mustard pops with the black.

Last worn: denim jacket (above), tiered little black dress, studded gladiator sandals, Rebecca Minkoff micro Regan bag.

Boho Printed Dresses Under $50:

How You Can Wear It:

Denim jackets are a great layer to add to a light sundress if the weather is a little cooler. If it heats up, it can easily be removed. You can even tie it around your waist if you don't want to leave it in the car like I did with the second outfit.

Remixing A Dress: Different Ways To Wear An Old And New Favourite

More dresses! Wearing two of my current high-rotation favourites, just trying to wear them a little (or a lot) differently this time around to keep things interesting.

Here's what I wore to go shopping:
Print Mixing Pattern Mixing Rewearing a Dress as a Top Florals and Stripes
SunglassesRayban new Wayfarers
DressAtmos & Here Willow printed tee dress (worn as top)
BeltAsos skinny pale yellow belt
SkirtCheap Monday interrupted stripe skirt in grey
ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs studded mouse flats in grey
BagRebecca Minkoff metallic silver mini MAC

Yes, it's that dress again! I've worn it so much since I bought it, really pleased with this purchase. I think it's because I don't have anything like it in my wardrobe already, I have lots of dresses and lots of printed dresses, but no tee dresses. I've worn it with ankle books and Converse before, but wanted to be a little different when wearing it out this time around. So I wore it as a top instead.

It was another a hot day, so I had to quickly do some Christmas shopping in the morning and avoid being out in the heat of the day. This dress had been hanging in the wardrobe waiting to be worn again, but as I've worn it so frequently lately I wanted to try and change it up a little. I thought wearing it as a top would be nice, and luckily this skirt was the first one I tried to wear it with, and the perfect length! A bit of print mixing too with the stripes and florals. As the skirt is nice and lightweight too it didn't make the outfit too warm to wear on a hot day either. Really liked how this outfit turned out! :)

Atmos&Here sell this same print in a tee as well, and I did consider the tee before I bought the dress, but I figured the dress would get more wear. Glad I went with the dress, as I can wear it like this to look like a tee too!

The last time I wore this skirt it was hiding a 20 week baby belly! I put a picture up on instagram a while back showing just how well it hid the bump. Glad to be fitting back into it post-baby.

BeltAsos metal keeper skinny waist belt in bright blue

And another new favourite dress makes a repeat appearance on the blog! This is a recent November purchase, and I've already worn it twice even though we are just halfway through the month.

Tried to style this dress differently this time around too, from when I wore it last. More tiny changes than major ones like my previous outfit though. Rolled up the sleeves (although one is unrolled in the photo already, oops!), belted it, left the neckline untied and wore flats instead of ankle boots. Was perfect for going out to a BBQ. No bag, as I just had everything I needed in the baby bag.

As this is the second time I've worn the dress, and I'm trying to reflect on all my purchases after wearing them twice, my purchase review:
I really like this dress. With all of my recent dress wearing, it's really obvious that I didn't need yet another dress in my wardrobe. It was an impulse sale buy after passing by a Jeanswest store with a little time to kill, haha. I did consider this when I got it home, and decided to keep it. I think I will wear it a lot, it's blue (my fave colour!) and such a pretty print. Practical for life with baby, and a good light option for the warmer months. I'm pleased I purchased it.

Last worn: Wayfarers (above), Jeanswest printed dress, blue belt, Marc Jacobs flats.

Monochrome Printed Outfits and Rebecca Minkoff Bags

It's funny seeing these outfit pics taken last month as autumn weather has really arrived here in Brisbane!

Blue is my favourite colour, although I do try to wear others and not just wear it every day! A monochrome blue outfit is always one that makes me happy. You can keep it easy and simple with a dress. A plain basic is a good partner for a printed piece if you're wearing separates, and I'm showing you how to wear both.

What I wore:

Jeanswest 'Chelsea' boho printed dress with rebecca minkoff accessories gladiator sandals | AwayFromBlue

Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC in aquamarine with python embossed leather | AwayFromTheBlue
ShoesRebecca Minkoff Georgina studded gladiator sandals in blush (on sale, 44% off with two sizes left! Also 30% off here in all sizes!)
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAC in aquamarine with python embossed leather (on sale!)

Why I wore it:

When you're not sure what to wear, a printed dress is an easy instant outfit. It's been such a long time since I wore this dress! Last time I wore it I was actually pregnant with baby boy. It's not breastfeeding friendly so it's been an unsuitable choice before. It was so good to get it out again. No teething necklace needed as the tassels on the dress keep baby amused!

It was perfect for a morning spent with my sister who was happy to keep baby amused while I had my drivers licence renewed, and then we went out for lunch. I even wore makeup to make the photo look better, but of course it's a drivers license photo so I still look terrible in it as you aren't allowed to smile!

Last worn: boho printed dress, Georgina studded sandals, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC.

Other ways to wearboho printed dress and ankle boots in spring, studded sandals and denim shorts, Rebecca Minkoff aqua mini MAC and a little black dress.

Perfect for pregnancy: boho print dress in second trimester.

Why I wore it:

Had a quiet day when I wore this - a few errands (like picking up a cake!) and then a special family birthday dinner in the evening. I've mentioned a few times when I've worn these shorts that during my wardrobe detox session the personal stylist suggested wearing them with similar colours to create a monochrome outfit. While I've worn it with contrasting colours too, I do like pairing these shorts with other blue pieces. Added the fun pink Balenciaga studded sandals and the colourful teething necklace for a little brightness with all of the blue.

This tee is a 'wardrobe basic' piece that I bought in October. However, this is only it's third wear since then! 3 wears in 7 months really isn't great, especially since I've not been shopping for 5 of those months and have added nothing to my wardrobe. A marle tee is a good basic, but this was my second choice after they didn't have my size in a white tee, and maybe I should have held off for a white one. Will be keeping it in my wardrobe though, just not wearing it as much as I hoped. At $3 though it's not a bad cost per wear already!

How You Can Wear It:

Printed pieces make monochrome outfits more interesting as you aren't just wearing a block of one colour. It's a nice way to ease into a monochrome outfit. If you're unsure about the perfect pieces to pair together, a printed dress is an easy instant option that will always look good with any accessories.
