Boots and Skinny Jeans: Printed Shirt, Grey Tee

Ended up taking photos with boots and skinny jeans twice in a row! I really like wearing boots and jeans in cooler weather, it doesn't last long here in Queensland.

Here's what I wore to visit family and go shopping:
SunniesRayban new Wayfarers
Necklacecustom Cooper charm by Silhoupette
Top: Jeanswest 'Ruby' mixed print shirt
JeansJeanswest 'Fiona' skinny leg pant in shiraz
ShoesAcne pistol boots in "skin"

It's the first time I've worn this shirt on the blog, but not the first time I've worn it. I bought it back when I was still pregnant and Jeanswest were having one of their 40% off sales. For those early days of breastfeeding, a button up shirt over a breastfeeding singlet is a great outfit idea when you have to get out of the house and you want to feel dressed up. I just wasn't organised enough when I wore it to get a photo for the blog.

Wore the shirt this time with skinny jeans and ankle boots, just like the suggested styling idea on the site. Was such a nice outfit, even if I didn't fully think it through. Baby T was being babysat by family as I had a few errands to run in the morning, and then we had a family BBQ in the evening. When I went to leave baby for a few hours I realised that I hadn't brought a bag for my own things - they were just in the baby bag! Ended up carrying my wallet and phone around in the morning, wishing I'd thought a little longer about what I was doing to have realised I'd need a handbag for when the baby bag was left behind. Just too used to going out and about without a handbag now I guess.

Last worn:Ray-Ban wayfarers, burgundy skinny jeans, Acne pistol boots. First time I've worn the shirt on the blog.

Here's what I wore to spend the morning at the beach:
SunniesRayban new Wayfarers
Jacket: Just Jeans dark brown cropped cotton trench coat
Necklacecustom Cooper charm by Silhoupette
TeeGrey v-neck tee with rolled sleeves
JeansJeanswest blue skinny jeans
ShoesAsos Cleo leather boots in tan
BagRebecca Minkoff coated canvas mini MAC in berry stripe

This tee is becoming my beach wear tee! Wore it to the beach last time too. It was a much colder and windier day this time around, but we went to out local dog beach despite the weather. It gave baby T his first chance to see the sea - after he slept through it the last time - and let Cooper stretch his legs and run off-leash. We left the baby bag in the car and wore baby in his carrier, so I made sure to take a handbag with me this time to have somewhere to store my camera and phone as we walked. Didn't want to make the same mistake as the day before! A cute little clutch was all I needed for the essentials.

The boots seemed like a good idea that morning to keep my feet dry and warm as we walked along the sand, as it was much too cold to go for a dip. We ended up walking in a lot of muddy and wet sand as the tide was out though, so leather boots were not the best choice. My feet stayed dry, but the boots look a little worse for wear! There are one or two days a year I wish I had Wellington boots, this was one of those days.

As this is the second wear of the grey tee from my August purchases and I'm trying to review what I buy, the final verdict:
I love this tee. I've only worn it with denim so far, but I know from experience that it pairs well with skirts too. Having this tee in other colours meant this purchase was always going to be a keeper, and something I knew I would wear. I'm really pleased I could score it on sale, as it's always been sold out in my size every time I've seen it previously. Very pleased with this purchase! I've actually worn it more often than I've taken photos of it, such a good tee.

Last worn: Wayfarers (see above), cropped trench coat, grey oversize tee, skinny jeans, Asos Cleo boots, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC.

Good and Bad: Wine Tee, Printed Skinny Jeans | Stripes, Owl Print and Maxi Skirt

Two very different outfits to share today! One that I loved, and one that was more comfortable than photogenic.

Here's what I wore to have a visitor over:
TeeAtmos&Here rolled sleeve oversized tee in wine
JeansSass and Bide 'The Archetype' feather print zippora skinnies
Shoes: Wittner 'Bolla' black bow detail flats

Nice casual jeans and tee outfit! I knew I wanted to wear these fun printed jeans, but I couldn't decide on a top. I've worn them with black and grey before, but wanted to try something a little different. Ended up picking this lovely burgundy tee, a different colour combination to what I'd normally go for. I think it worked quite well colour wise, and I love the slouchy tee with the fitted jeans. Would be so happy to wear something like this every day, one of my favourite outfits!

I was at home most of the day as I had someone over, and I only really went out to walk Cooper so I didn't need any extra layers to keep warm. Which was a good thing, as I'm really not sure what scarf or jacket would have looked nice with this! Used up all my thinking power wondering if burgundy and yellow would go nicely together ;)

Last worn: burgundy oversize tee, Sass and Bide zippora, black ballet flats.

Here's what I wore to go to the doctors:
ScarfLiquorish owl print scarf in grey (on sale!)
TopAtmos&Here 3/4 sleeve stripe tee in berry white (on sale!)
SkirtJeanswest plain jersey black maxi skirt (on sale with extra 40% off!)
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black

Bit of a cooler day with some rain, so I layered up for a short trip out to the doctors with baby T. I've paired this scarf and skirt together before, on an outfit I wasn't completely happy with after looking at the photos. Wanted to try the combination again though, as it is incredibly comfortable!

Thought that it may look better with a slightly more fitted tee underneath, but after reviewing the photo, I'm thinking again that it's not the best combination. I do prefer this outfit over the previous time, but I think the scarf and the skirt together just have too much volume, what do you think? Maybe best to keep the big blanket scarves to outfits involving jeans.

Last worn: owl print scarf, striped tee, jersey maxi skirt, Converse.

Printed Scarves: Grey Tee, Purple Skinny Jeans, Black Maxi Dress

Sharing what I wore to go to some mums and bubs meet ups with other local mums :)

Here's what I wore to go to a mummy meet up in the park:
SunniesRayban new Wayfarers
ScarfAsos pastel Aztec print scarf (on sale!)
TeeAtmos&Here grey Arizona zip tee (on sale!)
JeansJeanswest blackberry super skinny jeans
ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs metallic mouse flats
BagMarc by Marc Jacobs pretty nylon Eliz-A-Baby bag

I wore this pretty pastel print scarf with purple last time too! I think the pastel colours pair nicely with purple. The previous few times I've worn this scarf I wondered if its big blanket size was too overwhelming on me, but it came in handy for a rather chilly trip to the local park with baby. The slightly windy morning got progressively colder and windier as the day went on, leading to the mummy meet up in the park being postponed and a cold baby T and I stopping for a nice hot chocolate on the way home to warm up again. I really should have worn a jacket, but it didn't seem too cold when I got ready so I thought the scarf would be enough.

Although I still think the scarf is rather large on my petite frame, it does look nice with the skinny jeans and does keep me warm :) At $7.60, it's not a bad cost-per wear even if I don't wear it a forth time this year.

Last worn: Ray-Ban wayfarersAsos pastel scarf, grey tee, purple skinny jeans, gold mouse flats, Marc by Marc Jacobs baby bag.

Here's what I wore to go to my mother's group today:
SunglassesRayban new Wayfarers
ScarfSeed Heritage Paisley print snood
DressFrench Connection Meadow jersey maxi dress in black
Shoes: Wittner 'Bolla' black bow detail flats
BagMarc by Marc Jacobs pretty nylon Eliz-A-Baby bag

This was taken a few days after the outfit photo above, and the cold and wind had made way for a really nice sunny day. I even ended up taking the scarf off on the way home in the hot afternoon.

This scarf seems to have come to a lot of my mother's group meet ups! I wore it to go to the previous mothers's group meeting also. I thought about that as I put the outfit together, but decided to wear the scarf anyway. I really liked this scarf worn with my purple maxi dress, so although it's not very original, I had been looking forward to repeating the combination again with this black maxi dress.

It's inevitable with a finite budget and wardrobe space that I'll repeat certain combinations and items of clothing. It's a fact of life for most people :) I am pleased to see that I'm coming up with other outfit combinations that aren't jeans and a tee though. For a long time that combination made up the majority of my outfits, and I was a little worried I might end up choosing nothing but denim during my maternity leave. While I do slip back into the old jeans and a tee habit now and then, I'm trying to make the most of my wardrobe and wear more of what I own.

Last worn: wayfarers (see above), paisley print snood, jersey maxi dress, black flats, MbMJ baby bag (see above).

Maxi Skirts in Spring - Florals, Stripes, Denim and Hearts

At last, I'm caught up with the current season and sharing some Spring outfits! Have been a bit behind with blogging lately, having too much fun with baby T :)

Here's what I wore to head to the shops with baby T:
first day of spring outfit Floral tank colour block maxi skirt denim jacket
SunniesRayban new Wayfarers
Jacket: Bubblegum denim jacket
Tank: no label floral and lace top
SkirtAsos colour block maxi skirt in red (on sale!)
ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs metallic mouse flats

Baby T had a lovely long nap in the morning, which was helpful as I was fussing around my wardrobe wondering what to wear and taking longer than usual to decide. I knew I wanted to wear this pretty maxi skirt, but couldn't settle on a nice top. When I saw this floral one I thought it was too perfect - florals for the first day of spring! It was still a little chilly though, so the denim jacket was needed.

DH complimented my outfit when he got home that afternoon, so it was a winner in my book.

Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarers, denim jacket, floral tank, colour block maxi skirt, metallic mouse flats.

Here's what I wore to spend the day with my mum:
stella mccartney heart print scarf striped maxi skirt grey tee
SunglassesRayban new Wayfarers
ScarfStella McCartney heart print scarf
TeeSpectrum basic v-neck tee in grey marl
SkirtTarget black and white striped maxi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black

This was another "I don't know what to wear" day, this time because I had to dress for two very different events! My sister and I had been nominated for the ALS ice bucket challenge, so while I wanted to be comfortable for a day out with my mum, I also needed to be wearing something that would stand up to having a bucket of water thrown over me. "What to wear for an ice bucket challenge?" is not something I'd normally ask of my wardrobe, so it took me a while to come up with an outfit!

Ended up with a grey tee and maxi skirt, with a nice scarf to add a bit of colour and some print mixing during the cooler morning. Was really comfortable all day for being out with baby, and minus the scarf it worked well when I got a bucket of ice water poured over me in the evening!

Last worn: Wayfarers (see above), heart print scarf, grey tee, striped maxi skirt, Converse.

Grey Tee, Pink Leopard Print Jeans | Tie Dye Maxi Dress, Blue Cardi

Here's what I wore to spend the day with my mum and sister:
SunniesRayban new Wayfarers
ScarfAlexander McQueen modal skull scarf in white/pink
TeeGrey v-neck tee with rolled sleeves (new purchase)
Jeans: Portmans pink leopard print skinny jeans
ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs studded mouse flats in grey
BagMarc by Marc Jacobs pretty nylon Eliz-A-Baby bag

I like pairing pink and grey together as much as I do pink and blue! Very happy to be able to squeeze back into these jeans post-baby, they are such a fun statement pair. I used to have a grey leopard print jean as well, but I donated those and held onto these.

I wasn't too sure about the print on the scarf worn with the jeans, but my sister told me it looked okay. Glad I listened to her, I really liked this outfit. We went out to have lunch at the bayside, so the scarf was a good extra little something to kept the chill off. It was baby T's first time by the sea, but he was asleep for most of it, cuddled up with his auntie in the baby carrier. Such a lovely day, and a great lunch.

Last worn: Wayfarersskull scarf, leopard print skinnies, mouse flats, Marc Jacobs baby bag. First time I've worn the tee as it's a new purchase.

Here's what I wore to have a friend over:
Sunglasses: Cotton On 'Risky Business' sunglasses in sky blue
CardiJeanswest long blue drape cardigan
DressJeanswest 'Elodie' tie dye grey jersey maxi dress
ShoesNine West fascinate ballet flats in silver glitter

I love looking back and seeing the baby bump when I look up the last time I wore things. When I last wore this dress I was 39 weeks pregnant!

One of the ladies in my mother's group is starting up her own skincare business, and was looking for guinea pigs to practice on. I jumped at the chance for a pamper session! My mother in law and I had a really nice morning at home getting a free facial.

Ended up with a very blue outfit! Just wanted something easy to wear as I was really tired as baby T had been a little grouchy overnight, so wore a maxi dress with a cardi for warmth. Last time I wore a similar longline cardi with a maxi skirt I didn't like the way it looked, but I thought it looked nice left untied with the maxi dress this time. Maybe as the maxi dress has that elasticated section? Comfortable and practical outfit for a pamper session anyway :)

Last worn: blue sunglasses, blue cardigan, grey tie dye maxi dress, glitter flats.

Jeans, Grey Tees and Good Causes

Always wanting to be comfortable, I ended up wearing my favourite combination of jeans and a grey tee twice in a row. While I am trying to wear everything I have in my wardrobe and not end up in a denim rut..some days just call for jeans!

Here's what I wore to go out with DH and baby T:
Sundried Peruvian tribal print grey tee skinny jeans converse
SunniesRayban new Wayfarers
Scarf: Inca 4 Stripes tee C/O Sundried (use promo code 'INCA' for 25% off!)
JeansSass and Bide strayed misfits skinny jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black

Although I tried this tee on with my maxi skirt as soon as it arrived, for its first proper wearing out of the house I went with a classic and comfortable option - blue jeans!

Sundried sent me this lovely tee to wear, and I also get to pass along a discount code for you - just use promo code 'INCA' at checkout to get 25% off. I like the fun Peruvian-inspired tribal print, and it's great to know that the company is committed to doing good. The tee is made from organic cotton, and the company always works with fair-trade manufacturers. I'm the first to admit that I probably don't know as much about the origins of my wardrobe's contents as I should, which is why it's nice when you come across a company that proudly shares how they are trying to improve the world.

Last worn: Ray-ban, Sass and Bide jeans, Converse. First time I've worn the tee.

Here's what I wore for a casual day at home:
Oscar's law Help Break the puppy trade grey tee skinny jeans
SunglassesRayban new Wayfarers
TopOscar's Law 'Break the puppy trade' tee
JeansJeanswest 'spoylt' super skinny jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white

Another grey tee and denim combo! Did switch out the black Converse for my white ones, to make it a little different ;) Wanted to be comfortable for a quiet day at home - we had family over in the morning and went out in the afternoon for our usual walk.

I support Oscar's Law, and their message to "adopt, don't shop", and their goal of changing the law to prevent pet stores from selling puppies. Such a good cause to get behind. It would have been nice to have our little adopted dog Cooper sitting next to me for the photo, but he was busy catching up on his naps! He's still adjusting to baby T's cries interrupting his naptime schedule. Sometimes he lets out a big sigh when baby starts to cry, to let me know his nap has been cut short. It's very cute.

Last time I wore this tee I was stretching its limits in the third trimester of pregnancy, after getting it in the second trimester! It's so strange looking back at things I've worn during pregnancy and now, and a little odd wearing things I bought during pregnancy without a baby bump for the first time!

Last worn: Ray-ban Wayfarers (see above), Oscar's Law tee, skinny jeans, Converse.

Wearing Maxi Skirts in Winter - Scarves and Long Sleeve Tees

Although it is officially spring (and has been for 10 days now) I still have some winter outfits to post! Noticed that I'd been wearing denim a lot lately, so I'm trying to create some variety by wearing my dresses and maxi skirts more. I don't want to get stuck in a blue denim rut.

Here's what I wore to go out shopping with baby T:
SunglassesRayban new Wayfarers
ScarfSeed Heritage Paisley print snood
TeeAtmos&Here grey Arizona zip tee (New purchase, on sale!)
SkirtTarget black and white striped maxi skirt
Shoes: Wittner 'Bolla' black bow detail flats
BagMarc by Marc Jacobs pretty nylon Eliz-A-Baby bag

It was a little chilly, and I wanted to be cosy so long sleeved tee and a maxi skirt seemed like a good idea. I thought I'd leave the tee loose and baggy rather than tucking it in, I liked the long drapey layers when I added the scarf too. Normally I'd go for something tucked into the skirt, but I just liked the look of this with it hanging free.

This is the second time I've worn this tee since I bought it in August. As I'm reviewing all my monthly purchases after wearing them twice, the verdict on the tee:

I really like it! I'm glad I bought it and as it's such a lightweight piece I'm sure I'll still be able to wear it often in spring. A good purchase. The only thing that I'm unsure about is the zips on the hem - still haven't figured out if they are for anything more than decoration! I've tried unzipping and tucking the front in, but the stiff metal zipper doesn't make that comfortable. Maybe they are just for decoration?Do you own any tops like this? How do you wear them with the zips?

Last worn: Ray-BanSeed heritage snood, grey zip detail tee, striped maxi skirt, black flats, MbMJ baby bag.

Here's what I wore to go for a walk with baby and Cooper:

ScarfAlexander McQueen magenta skull scarf in roses print
TeeLiving Doll stripe 3/4 sleeve top
SkirtJeanswest plain jersey black maxi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
BagMarc by Marc Jacobs pretty nylon Eliz-A-Baby bag

Another casual maxi skirt outfit to get out of the house for a bit of lunch and a walk. Tucked the long sleeve tee in this time. I really liked this outfit when I put it on in the morning, but I am not too impressed with it in the photo. Certainly kept me comfortable all day though, which is my main goal for outfits lately!

Jeans and a Tee with Blazer and Scarf, Statement Metallic and Oversize Tee

Here's what I wore to go to a BBQ and spend the evening with the in-laws:
skinny jeans oversize tee boots blazer and scarf
Jacket: Zara black blazer
ScarfMarc by Marc Jacobs scarf in Island pine-print
TeeFrench Connection oversized khaki green tee
JeansJeanswest blue skinny jeans
ShoesAsos Cleo leather boots in tan

Last time I wore this tee I was in my third trimester, and enjoying the fact that the oversize style still fit over the baby bump. It was not one of my favourite pregnancy outfits though, I much prefer the tee worn lose and oversized with a bit of a drape, not all stretched out over a baby belly. Not all my regular clothes looked great as maternity outfits, but I had fun trying them out anyway.

Added the blazer to dress up this jeans and tee outfit a little for spending the afternoon with the in-laws, and to help keep me warm in the rain. I have a lot of blazers, but I don't think any has gotten as much wear as this Zara one! It's a jersey material that doesn't feel too formal, but dresses up a casual outfit nicely. My sister has a similar blazer and I've always loved the way she wears hers, so I was pleased to find this piece when op-shopping. Definitely a good purchase, one of those pieces that makes me understand why so many people have "a classic blazer" as one of their must-have wardrobe items.

Last worn: Zara blazer, Marc Jacobs scarf, khaki tee, skinny jeans, Asos leather boots.

Here's what I wore to go out for a walk and spend time with a visitor today:
sass and bide metallic skinny jeans wildfox skeleton tee converse
TeeWildfox Skeleton black tee with long sleeves (with Kmart black tank layered underneath)
JeansSass and Bide 'Three Words' metallic gold jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black

Trying to wear these awesome metallic jeans a little more casually, dressed down with an oversized top and Converse. Didn't need to be too dressed up, as I had a quiet day at home with Cooper and baby T, with a visitor in the afternoon. Was looking through my wardrobe for something warm to wear to pair with the jeans when I saw this little-worn tee.

Haven't worn this tee in over a year! I wore it a few times when I bought it in 2012, before the weather got too warm, and since then I've only worn it twice. I think the time I wore it to Fright Night at Movie World for Halloween was the best possible opportunity it could be worn. Not something I wear enough to justify keeping in my wardrobe, although it is incredibly comfortable for lounging around at home in.

Last worn: Wildfox skeleton tee, metallic skinny jeans, Converse.

Raues Eva Top and Jeans | Heart Print Scarf and Stripe Top

Here's what I wore to spend the afternoon with my mum and sister:
Raues eva polka dot peter pan collar peplum top jeans
SunglassesRayban new Wayfarers
TopEva top C/O Raues
JeansSass and Bide "Straight up" jeans
ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs metallic mouse flats

Second outfit with this lovely custom-made Raues top! It's a lot easier to see the details on this top now than the first time I wore it in the rain. Really enjoying the warmer weather that came along with spring! Although I'm wearing it with jeans for the second time in a row, I think this top will be so pretty with a pencil skirt when I go back to the office. We have generous maternity leave allowances here in Australia, I'm very lucky. I'm not scheduled to go back to work until next year, so I'm enjoying lots of time at home with baby T.

Last worn: Ray-ban WayfarersRaues top, skinny jeans, gold mouse flats.

Here's what I wore to spend the day with my family:

SunglassesBali sunglasses C/O Kameleonz (20% discount with code 'MICA')
ScarfStella McCartney heart print scarf (on sale here)
TopJeanswest 'Marina' stripe henley
JeansJeanswest 'spoylt' super skinny jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black

Windy day! Although the days are getting warmer, the cold winter winds haven't completely gone away. Rugged up a little against the cold with my big blanket scarf. I keep repeatedly wearing this scarf with stripes, and have done since I first got it. It just pairs so well! We were told at the clinic the other day that young babies focus best on things with high contrast - black and white stripes are perfect for that. So I can feel I'm helping baby spot me moving around when I indulge in my stripes addiction.

Wore this to go out on a walk with the family and get baby some fresh air, casual and comfy! The last time I wore this top I was in the third trimester and feeling rather large, after tearing my top at the seams the day before and being unable to squeeze my pregnant feet into shoes. It has a nice relaxed fit without the baby bump in the way!

Sass and Bide Jeans, Alexander McQueen Skull Scarves, Long Sleeve Tees

Happened to wear statement jeans twice in a row! Printed and metallic skinny jeans outfits below, as well as a summary of my August purchases. I liked analysing my July purchases, it influenced my shopping in August.

Here's what I wore to go shopping with DH and baby T:
Printed sass and bide jeans grey zip detail tee magenta alexander mcqueen skull scarf
SunglassesRayban new Wayfarers
ScarfAlexander McQueen magenta skull scarf in roses print
Top: Atmos&Here grey Arizona zip tee (New purchase, on sale!)
JeansSass and Bide 'The Archetype' feather print zippora skinnies
ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs metallic mouse flats

Wore this to go out shopping with hubby and baby T. We wanted to pick up a few little toys for baby. He's getting bigger now and wanting to play more, so we stopped in at Target and picked up a little gym for him. It's so cute watching him batting away at the toys dangling down!

Wanted to wear this new long sleeve tee, one of my August purchases. The zipper detail at the hem is really nice, and it made me think of the zipper detail on the jeans, so it seemed right to pair them together. I tried to pose for the photo to get a shot of the zip at the bottom of the jeans, but I failed there! With all the gold zips, the cute metallic gold mouse flats seemed the best shoe choice to continue on the gold theme. And of course, a nice colourful scarf against the grey. Really casual, comfortable outfit.

Last worn: roses skull scarf, Sass and Bide zippora jeans, metallic mouse flats. First time I've worn the tee as it's a new purchase.

Here's what I wore to go out with DH:
metallic gold skinny jeans acne pistol boots striped top skull scarf
SunglassesRayban new Wayfarers
ScarfAlexander McQueen modal and cashmere skull scarf
TeeJeanswest 'Melanie' Stripe henley in black/coconut (on sale!)
JeansSass and Bide 'Three Words' metallic gold jeans
ShoesAcne pistol boots in "skin"

Another long sleeve top and statement jeans combo! I've been a little predictable with my outfit choices lately. I like how this is basically the same outfit combination as what I wore previously (above), but it looks different enough. Still wearing a skull scarf, prints, and statement jeans. My jeans have been getting a lot of wear lately, but I'm conscious that I don't want to end up in identical looking outfits every day. Trying to take the same basic idea and change a few things about it, so I can get dressed quickly and easily without a lot of thought, but still look like I have some variation in what I'm wearing.

The only thing I didn't like about this outfit was the way I'd rolled up the cuffs of the jeans to have them sit over the boots - it kept coming undone and driving me a little crazy!

Last worn: Ray Ban Wayfarers, Alexander McQueen skull scarf, Jeanswest stripe henley, metallic gold skinny jeans, Acne pistol boots.

My August Purchases:

In August I bought a few accessories to help organise the baby bag, and picked up some things in the Iconic sale. A lot of grey clothes! I've returned one dress already, after seriously considering it when it arrived. I'm sure I'll get lots of wear out of everything else I purchased.

Preston raglan stripe dress (returned)
Grey marle jersey pencil skirt
Arizona zip tee
Grey v-neck tee with rolled sleeves

Winter Skinny Jeans and Boots: Orange and Burgundy, Blue and Purple

Sharing what I wore on a cold and rainy winter weekend in Queensland. Ended up wearing coloured denim and boots both days...continuing on with the denim theme from my last post! I do love a good jeans and boots outfit in winter!

Here's what I wore to brave the rain to go to the post office:
Jacket: Barkins beige trench coat
Knit: Vintage David Jones orange wool knit jumper from AWLQ vintage sale
Jeans: Jeanswest 'Fiona' skinny leg pant in shiraz
ShoesAsos Cleo leather boots in tan

Being on maternity leave I'm home with baby T for the majority of each day, yet I seem to have a special ability to be out whenever there is a parcel delivery! Had to go out in the rain to go to the post office and pick up a parcel I'd missed the delivery of. It was an unexpected and cute little outfit someone had sent us for baby T, so worth the trip in the rain to go get it.

A couple weeks back (when I took this photo) I was doing the Style and Shenanigans texture challenge and had been wondering what winter items I had in my wardrobe for each day of the challenge. The first day was wool, and I remembered I have this awesome vintage wool jumper that hadn't been worn all winter. It was such a cold and rainy day, it was perfect for it! Being in tropical Queensland, it doesn't often get cold enough to need wool. Thought I'd be a little more adventurous and pair the orange knit with some burgundy skinny jeans. Not a colour combination I've tried before, but I really liked how it turned out.

Last worn: trench coat, wool jumper, burgundy skinny jeans, leather boots.

Here's what I wore to go out for a walk with DH and baby T:
SunglassesRayban new Wayfarers
ScarfAlexander McQueen skull scarf in light blue
JumperJeanswest 'Serena' ombre knit
JeansJeanswest blackberry super skinny jeans
ShoesAsos Cleo leather boots in black

Expected it to be as cold and rainy as the previous day, but it was actually dry and quite warm in the sun. So left the jacket behind, just needed a jumper and scarf. Was funny wearing this ombre jumper - when I last wore it, I was overdue and wondering when baby would arrive! (He didn't wait long to make an appearance!)

To be completely honest, this is not the outfit I wore all day, it's just what I wore in the afternoon for our walk. We had visitors over so jeans, jumper and a scarf seemed like a nice thing to wear. After getting dressed and cleaning up the house, there was no time for an outfit photo before everyone arrived. I decided to wait and take the photo later in the afternoon when our visitors were gone and we went out for a walk. Right before we were going to leave, baby T decided that he didn't like the blue jeans that I was wearing, and made his opinion clear by peeing all over them! As they were the last pair of clean blue skinny jeans I had, I quickly changed into these purple ones instead so we could go out. I do like blue and purple together! Thankfully the purple jeans survived to the end of the day. Life with baby is many things, but it is always messy ;)

Last worn: Ray Ban Wayfarer, blue skull scarf, ombre knit, purple skinny jeans, leather boots.
