Sharing two casual Christmas maxi skirt outfits I wore recently. The first one for our annual Christmas Eve family day, the second for a couple of Christmas parties. It has been a fun but busy December with all the get togethers.

Why I wore it:
This is what I wore on Christmas eve. The past few years I've worn the same tee on Christmas eve that my sister bought as part of a new tradition, a festive glitter Santa tee. This year I wanted to wear this reindeer tee mum made me - she made matching ones for us all, even the kids. I'd already worn this tee to the Christmas night at Movie Word theme park, and I knew that since it went so well with my red printed maxi skirt then, it would work well with this navy striped maxi skirt too. This was the same skirt I wore last Christmas eve too - it's a very comfortable stretchy skirt. Perfect for Christmas crafts (machine washable!), making and decorating cookies, and for eating a lot of delicious food, spending time with family, and watching a Christmas movie. Once again we watched the Polar Express, as requested by my sons!
The little red saddle bag fit my wallet, phone, keys and camera, and was a nice matchy-matchy option with the red print on the tee.
Last worn: reindeer Christmas tee, gold bauble earrings, gold necklace, navy stripe maxi skirt, Havaianas, red studded saddle bag.
Other ways to wear: reindeer Christmas tee with red skirt, navy stripe maxi skirt and denim jacket, red studded saddle bag worn 30 ways.

All The Festive Fun From A Previous Christmas (2018)
What I wore:
Tank: Jeanswest 'Darcy' embellished top in winter coral
Skirt: thrifted Crossroads black ruffle hem maxi skirt
Shoes: Wittner 'Jasmarie' studded sandals
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Love cross body bag in grey
Why I wore it:
This was another fun, but very hot day, before the one above. We had a kids Christmas party in the afternoon and then a Christmas party with friends in the evening. Which we ended up having to leave early from unfortunately because the kids were just worn out from the huge day!
I figured with two parties in one day it was a good time to get this sequin tank out again. I've worn it to a Christmas party before, and to the office. It's the kind of piece you can wear year-round but it seems extra festive at Christmas time. I thought the black sequins would be so nice with this black maxi skirt. It's perfect for a hot day even though it's a dark colour because it's super light viscose. And thankfully it is easy to wash after there was lots of delicious food dropped and smeared all over it (at both parties!).
The Rebecca Minkoff Love bag is a nice neutral grey that goes with everything, and also matches the grey and silver sequins. Perfect size for the essentials and my camera too.
Last worn: Chanel earrings, burgundy sequin tank, black maxi skirt, studded sandals, Rebecca Minkoff Love bag.
Other ways to wear: burgundy sequin tank and jeans, black maxi skirt and pink tee, studded sandals and shorts, Rebecca Minkoff Love bag with jeans.
Perfect for pregnancy: burgundy sequin tank in second trimester, studded sandals in second trimester, Rebecca Minkoff quilted Love bag in third trimester.

How You Can Wear It:
A maxi skirt is a great option on a hot day, especially if it's from a light material or has a slit up the side. Perfect for a backyard party, or a quiet day visiting family, they are easy to dress up or down.
Love the maxi in both looks, the perfect style for a nice holiday :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful maxi skirts. I love striped items. The first striped maxi skirt looks great paired with that Christmas tee. Such a great Christmas look! I like the dark maxi you wore with the orange top too.
ReplyDeleteI wish you all the best in 2022!!!!!
I love these both - and I hope you had a really great Christmas! It's always such a hectic time and this year I got hit with a terrible cold which definitely put a damper on things for me...

ReplyDeleteI wish you a happy new year.
Two gorgeous outfits, Mica, so I'm not going to choose a favourite :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the pop of red from your handbag in your Christmas Eve outfit, and surely navy and red are always a match made in heaven.
Your second outfit is very festive too. I'm loving how the grey bag picks the grey in your tee's motif!
It's lovely to read you were able to attend quite a few parties. This years it's just Jos and myself, we've postponed the family get-together unit things are more safe! Happy New Year! xxx
Hope you get to have a catch up with the family soon! We were lucky there weren't many Covid cases around so we had a normal Christmas as usual :)
DeleteBeautiful skirts and outfits. The first is my favorite, you look really stylish.
ReplyDeleteWishing you all the best in 2022!:)

Me encanta el vestido rojo. Te mando un abrazo y te deseo un genial año para ti y tu familia.
ReplyDeleteLos dos outfits son muy bonitos, que pases un Feliz Año, saludos:D
ReplyDeleteYour mother made that tee? She is very talented, it looks beautiful. And wearing something with an elastic waistband is sensible, I did that too for Christmas Eve. We had my sisters and my niece over, it was so lovely to spend time with them.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a nice Christmas with family :)
DeleteAnd yes, I love that mum made this tee - she made one for us all, she is very talented! :)
I loved the looks. long skirts are so beautiful

I love the first one❤
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a great Christmas, Mica! I love your Christmas reindeer shirt and can’t believe your mom made it for you—def thought it was from a store. And you’ve got to bust the sequins out for the holidays! :)
ReplyDeleteI wish you all the best in 2022 to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteWonderful outfits, Mica! I love the low-key festivity of the first one (your delightful ribbon bracelet is so perfect), and appreciate the matchy bag. Your second outfit is amazing - the colours are just right together, and you have nailed the stylish-glitz without being overpowering. It's casual elegance personified!
ReplyDeleteWishing you and your family and your loved ones a very happy 2022. Thank you for all your comments - you are a trooper! - and especially for your wonderful email. It's one of the nicest letters I've ever received, and I can't tell you how much it means to me - I have read it many times and it always moves me to tears.
A huge hug to you, my friend. XO She

ReplyDeleteI love that your mom made that tee, how cute is that?! How fun to have everyone matching for Christmas too. I also love that embellished tank top. I hope your 2022 is off to a great start!
ReplyDeleteYes I love the matchy-matchy at Christmas time with festive tees! :)
DeleteI love how you style outfits, they always look so beautiful. Both of these maxi skirts are so cute, and I especially love the colour combo of the first one, it's so classic xx

Thank you very much =) Yes my new year's eve was really relaxed.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year too =) Thanks, I hope your start into the new year is nice too
Great post with cute outfits, I like them both but I like the first look a little bit more. Maxi dresses are pretty nice but I'm too small for them :D
I'm petite too! I thrifted the black one, I think it's supposed to be a midi skirt? And the striped one runs short so it works well for me! :)
DeleteOh very cute style
ReplyDeleteMy best wishes to you
Happy New Year 2022
I like the way you look in both outfits Mica. I hope you had a merry Christmas and wishing you a happy new year.
ReplyDeleteI love the Christmas shirt that you wore and with a maxi skirt! So cute.
