What I wore:
Necklace: terrazzo and wood rose gold bead necklace
Tee: Cotton On The One fitted v tee in washed red clay
Skirt: Nobody Denim Piper vacation skirt in black distressed denim
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff unlined saddle bag in cherry red
Why I wore it:
This clay colour tee is one that's not quite a true brown, not quite a true red, so I struggle a little thinking of what to wear it with. I thought I'd try it with a red bag, and needing a cover up as we would be inside in the aircon most of the day, picked this printed one with the red bits in the print that perfectly coordinated with the bag.I think that the print helped tie together the two different shades of red really nicely, and of course this black distressed denim skirt goes with everything. As do the Converse!
It was a quiet day, we had a few errands to run in the morning as well as getting the kids a much needed hair cut.

What I wore:
Necklace: thrifted pearl and heart charm long necklace
Tee: Jeanswest Emily cotton v-neck tee in coral
Skirt: thrifted Target black stretch denim skirt
Shoes: New Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff red micro Avery cross body bag
Why I wore it:
Had a bit of driving to do on this day, so comfortable sneakers were a necessity. Had an early morning start to drive the kids down the coast to the Animal Welfare League shelter where we adopted Cooper. They had a school holiday program where you could spend a day at the shelter learning all about it, and getting to play with all the different animals and teach the dogs some tricks. As it was over an hour's drive from home I stayed down the coast for the time the kids were at the shelter, at my parent's house which was a lot closer.Since most of the day was lounging around at my parent's and driving, I needed to be comfortable. Denim and a tee were an easy choice, and I liked how similar the shades of red were on this coral tee and micro Avery bag. The navy tie dye cape was a good cover up and it added a little extra colour too so it didn't feel like too much red.

How You Can Wear It:
If you have a colourful bag in your wardrobe it can be fun matching it to a similar tee. If the shades are different, like in the first outfit, or closer together, like in the second outfit, a printed cover up is a nice way to add a colourful printed buffer.
Lovely post. I love both cross bag. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteI adore the color of both of these bags! That first bag brings out the bold red in the kimono. So chic!

That kimono really does pull that whole first outfit together. I love pieces that have a bunch of colors so it's easy to wear them with anything

Unfortunately have to do that to support my knee - driving is quite painful otherwise!
DeleteI bet the boys had fun at the animal shelter. Love that red handbag in the first outfit.

LOVE the red bags with these outfits, Mica! They both pull focus but also coordinate so well with your tees and kimonos. That first bag really works for me - I would wear it in a heartbeat! I'm still on the lookout for the Perfect Red Purse!
ReplyDeleteI hope you find it! i have a couple but as much as I've tried I just can't pick a favourite, so I'll keep them all, haha!
DeleteIf the top is not quite brown and not quite red, it'll probably pair with both nicely, depending upon the shade. At least, that's what I think would work in theory.
ReplyDeleteYour studded red bag is gorgeous! You have the best Rebecca Minkoff collection ever! And that's so nice that your kids' school had a dog shelter learning day, especially at the one where you got your dog. ππΆπ
ReplyDeleteLos dos outfits me encantaron, saludos:D
