Striped Tees Matching Waterfall Cardigans With Jeans and Balenciaga Day Bags | Weekday Wear Link Up

For today's Weekday Wear Link Up, more jeans and tee outfits, which are becoming a staple with winter really taking hold here in Brisbane!

What I wore:

black skinny jeans sneakers navy stripe tee matching waterfall cardigan and purple scarf and magenta pink day bag | awayfromblue

navy waterfall cardigan with Balenciaga Day bag in 2005 magenta | awayfromtheblue

JacketJeanswest waterfall drape cardigan in navy night sky marle
ScarfMarc by Marc Jacobs mauve square scarf
TeeAtmos&Here navy stripe v-neck tee
JeansNobody Denim Siren skinny super high-rise jeans in power black denim (c/o)
ShoesNew Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
BagBalenciaga Day bag in 2005 magenta

Why I wore it:

With the navy stripe tee matching the cosy navy waterfall cardigan, and the black Nobody Denim skinny jeans and black sneakers, this could have been a really dark toned outfit, even with the white in the stripes. The magenta Balenciaga Day bag and purple scarf were the perfect way to add a bit more colour, and I appreciated the extra cosiness from the scarf too, it was a particularly cold day and I was thankful for the scarf on the school run, especially in the morning!

Had a quiet day of working from home before picking the kids up in the afternoon, and then sports in the evening. Jeans and a tee is the perfect casual outfit for that.

Last worn: navy waterfall cardigan, purple scarf, navy stripe tee, Nobody Denim black skinny jeans, New Balance sneakers, Balenciaga magenta day bag.

Other ways to wearnavy waterfall cardigan and shorts, purple scarf and printed dress, navy stripe tee and orange skirt, Nobody Denim black skinny jeans and blazer, Balenciaga magenta day bag and pencil skirt.

Perfect for pregnancynavy stripe tee in third trimester, Balenciaga magenta day bag in third trimester.

Jeans: Jeanswest Cecile dove grey skinny jeans
Shoes: Adidas Stan Smith sneakers in white and navy
BagBalenciaga giant hardware Day bag in 2009 tempete

Why I wore it:

This was one of those outfits I'd planned in my head that didn't quite translate how I wanted to when I put it on in the morning. It was a busy day though, with helping out in my son's classroom after the school run, working from home, and then last minute shopping for a birthday present for a birthday party the next day after school pick up. I had planned this scarf but realised it didn't look quite right, but had no time to try another. Not the worst combination, but I do think another scarf would have worked better.

The shoes are new to me! I rarely ever see shoes in my size at the opshops so getting a pair of Adidas Superstar sneakers for $3 the other year was an awesome steal. My mum found these Stan Smiths and was hoping they would fit her, but unfortunately they didn't. She brought them over for me to try though and they work for me, so she gave them to me. $0 sneakers is the best!

How You Can Wear It:

For a little bit of matchy-matchy, try pairing a striped tee in a similar shade to a cosy cardigan in winter. Adding other colours with accessories like I have with scarves and bags is fun to try too!

  15. Striped tops are a wardrobe staple and perfect for any season! I'm loving the pops of magenta and purple in the otherwise dark first outfit, but the real surprise was your second outfit. I think it worked out quite well. The scarf is perfect in my book, but perhaps a slightly darker pair of jeans would have been better? In any case, I just love the red cardigan! xxx

  19. You look wonderfully cozy in both outfits! Isn't it fun how scarves add just that little bit of extra to an outfit? And, that's a great deal on the shoes!

  21. I love the pink/purple combo in the first outfit, Mica - the striped top really grounds it and brings it all into focus. I like the second outfit - I think the scarf is fine - but I see where you might have wanted a more colourful one (a floral would be awesome) to give it a bit more of a lively look.

    Stay warm!
