What I wore:
Jacket: no label white drape jacket
Necklace: engraved interlinked silver circle family name necklace
Dress: Kmart Aztec print tiered little black dress
Shoes: Wittner 'Jasmarie' studded sandals
Bracelets: the usual plus Marc by Marc Jacobs enamel turnlock stripey hinge black and white bangle
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody bag in burgundy
Why I wore it:
This white waterfall jacket was definitely not needed for extra warmth! This sundress is the cutest but it has spaghetti straps I wanted to cover up for church. I have a few kimonos but settled on this jacket that hasn't been worn in a while. Last time I wore it I noted how it had been pretty underutilised in my wardrobe and I needed to wear it more. Well it's certainly been more than a month since I wore it last but I think it's been given another pass to stay in my wardrobe a while longer! I did like how it looked with the black printed sundress, even if I took the jacket off as soon as we got home as it was much too hot for it in the afternoon! With the simple black and white outfit I wanted to add a little more colour - this burgundy Rebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody bag seemed like a good choice and the silver hardware matched my necklace and bracelet stack well too. I always take the baby bag into church with some entertainment for the kids and all our water bottles, so a small crossbody bag was all I needed.
Last worn: waterfall jacket, silver circle necklace, black printed sundress, studded sandals, Rebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody. First time I've worn the earrings as they were a gift from hubby.
Other ways to wear: waterfall jacket and shorts, black printed sundress in winter, studded sandals and chambray, Rebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody and jeans.
Perfect for pregnancy: waterfall jacket in third trimester, studded sandals in third trimester.
My Favourite Rebecca Minkoff Bag:
What I wore:
Dress: Kmart strappy tiered sundress in watercolour blue and blush print
Shoes: slim navy and pink Havaianas
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Regan Satchel Tote in moon
Why I wore it:
The day before all the rains arrived it was a much too hot and humid 36͒ C (97͒ F). I didn't want to wear any layers or anything too warm, this printed sundress was perfect. Being a size bigger than the one above, it was really loose and heatwave friendly, perfect for the school run on a very warm day. I'm definitely getting the most from this $2 clearance sale find!I did try accessorise it a little with this long necklace - the stones aren't real so it's quite light to wear. I picked the Rebecca Minkoff Regan bag as I liked the navy with the blue in the dress, and also because it fit mine and my son's water bottles inside so I didn't need to carry the baby bag around. It was nice to not have to carry multiple bags around, even if we only went to grab groceries and then chilled at home in the aircon before school pickup!
Last worn: blue and pink Kmart sundress, Happiness boutique necklace, Havaianas, Rebecca Minkoff Regan bag.
Other ways to wear: blue and pink Kmart sundress and magenta bag, Rebecca Minkoff Regan bag and pencil skirt.
Tiered Sundresses Under $50:
How You Can Wear It:
A simple sundress is a great outfit for a hot day! It's an easy instant outfit and will keep you cool in the heat. If you're going to be in the aircon or you want to cover up your shoulders you can always add a light jacket like I have in the first outfit.Linking up with Mutton Style, On Mondays We link Up, Monday Runway.
Very cute looks :)

Both of those dresses are so pretty! I love the pop of burgundy in the first look too. And you're right about that second dress--it doesn't need much it is perfect on its own! That is one of my favorite dresses of yours.
ReplyDeleteIt was such a bargain buy too! :)
DeleteThe cut of that dress is one of my favorites, I think it's so flattering and comfortable. All of our Kmart stores have closed, glad they are still in Australia! Hope you have a wonderful weekend Mica!

These dresses both look amazing on you, Mica, and you are beating the heat in style! Kmart will forever be a bargain-basement type of store for me - we had one here when I was a kid.
ReplyDeleteYou can find so many bargains there, even if the US and the Australian stores are completely different!
DeleteLove both looks! I am a fan of dresses for sure and I have a bag really similar to the first one.

ReplyDeleteIt'll be quite a few months yet until I can get out my sundresses. I could definitely do with some sunshine, although 36°C is way too hot for me! I'm glad you are able to keep your "cool" by wearing these pretty tiered dresses, my favourite being the second one. I'm also loving the burgundy cross-body bag you're wearing with your first outfit! Wishing you a most wonderful weekend, Mica! xxx
ReplyDeleteyes I wasn't expecting those temps so close to the end of summer but I think we have a few more hot days ahead of us even though it's officially autumn now!

ReplyDeleteYou look adorable in these printed dresses. I like how you accessorized your first one and layered it with that white jacket. I like spagetti strap.dresses for summer but when going someplace formal one needs to wear something on top of it all.
ReplyDeleteI also really like your second outfit with a blue spagetti dress. That blue dress has such a lovely print. I really like the touch of pink.
Happy Sunday!
I love both your dresses, you are always so pretty!

I really like your dainty pretty sandals with the dresses. Thanks for linking to Muttonstyle Monday
ReplyDeleteSo what are the seaons over there? Do you have a period where it rains a lot? We usually don't have as much rain as we have had this winter. My sons and I keep saying that we would be covered under feet of snow if it actually was cold when it rains here.
ReplyDeletewww.chezmireillefashiontravelmom.com
Summer is our wettest season usually - after a very dry start it's been quite wet in 2020, thankfully! :) Winter can be quite dry.
DeleteI'm really loving your dress collection, babe! You have such a great selection of colors and prints. I love that black one especially.
