What I wore:
Earrings: Piper gold heart earrings
Jacket: Wittner 'Santa Fe' cobalt blue leather jacketScarf: Alexander McQueen modal and cashmere skull scarf
Dress: Atmos&Here navy stripe tee dress
Shoes: New Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff chevron quilted small Love crossbody bag in pale coral
Why I wore it:
This was a really fun day! Hubby took the boys for a day of birthday parties to celebrate three different kid's birthdays while I headed down the coast with my mum and sister for a day of shopping. Something we had been trying to plan for a while, but eventually everything aligned and we were able to go. Since Pac Fair shopping centre is part indoors and part outdoors, I thought bare legs were okay despite a little bit of a breeze. This was a really comfortable outfit to wear although when the wind picked up in the evening it was a little chilly. With the navy stripes on the tee dress and the cobalt blue leather jacket I thought this little peachy Rebecca Minkoff small Love bag was the perfect pop of colour, especially as I was wearing a neutral taupe skull scarf. I really like skull scarves with this striped dress! As it was a rare kid-free day for me I really didn't need to carry much. While my new wallet means this bag is a bit of a tight squeeze with phone, keys and hand sanitiser I just left the wallet behind and took a few cards with me, using it like a wallet on a chain. Didn't need to worry about having any payment methods with me in the end! I did try on a couple of pieces, but didn't buy anything as mum picked up the two tops I liked in the H&M sale for me. Can't wait for warmer weather to wear what she bought me!

What I wore:
Scarf: Fashion Scarf Girl lush forest scarf
Dress: thrifted Kmart white and navy long sleeve stripe tee dress
Shoes: New Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Edie small crossbody bag in magenta
Why I wore it:
Was planning for this to be a more leisurely day. We had a couple errands to run and some groceries to grab in the morning, before a trip to the library and then some time at the playground before heading home. Just as we pulled up to the library though my sister called to let me know another lockdown had been announced for Brisbane. It's not as bad as what Sydney is going through thankfully, just 8 days. Given the government hasn't bothered to secure enough vaccines for us these short lockdowns are a way of life for us now! 8 days seems particularly long as 3 days is our usual, but the virus got into a school so extra time was needed to make sure all the cases were identified and quarantined to get us back to zero covid cases outside of quarantine, which we are at now.The kids were really happy as it meant I let them stock up on a lot more books than usual! We did decide to go home after though, skipping the playground in favour of starting lockdown at home a little early and playing in the backyard instead. Even if our day was cut a little short it was a good morning.
I'd decided to wear this cute striped tee dress as I really haven't been wearing enough dresses this winter! And this one layers well with the black leather jacket. I changed my mind a couple times about the scarf, the one I'd thought would be nice with the little Rebecca Minkoff Edie crossbody looked a bit off so I picked this one instead. I've enjoyed wearing it with stripes before and I like the magenta of the bag with the purple in the scarf. It was a little warm with both the scarf and leather jacket though and I ended up taking the leather jacket off - warmed up much more than I expected!

How You Can Wear It:
A leather jacket is a nice way to winterise a dress a little for a warmer winter day. Stripes are a great base for print mixing too, and a colourful scarf can be a fun way to add a little extra to your outfit. A bright crossbody bag adds more colour too!

ReplyDeleteIt's such a unique shade, I really love it too! :)

Oops..I think I hit enter too quickly on my last comment. It sounds like the kids aren't bothered by it. Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteThat Edie bag with the black leather jacket is just perfect:) And I didn't know I needed a cobalt leather jacket until this post...love! Great outfits as always:) And so sorry to hear about the lockdown again but that's good that it's only for a few days. We're so used to super long lockdowns but any lockdown (no matter how short) does suck. Hope Australia gets more vaccines soon. XOXO
ReplyDeleteYes I'm glad that the lockdown is over for us while other states haven't been as lucky sadly :( things will change when the government gets us more vaccines I'm sure!
DeleteLoving both of these outfits! Love the first look with the blue jacket and orange bag!
ReplyDeleteJill - Doused in Pink
Love a leather jacket outfit - such a refreshing change from blazers and denim (not that I don't love those too!) :)
ReplyDeleteOh you should have joined our series with these lovely stries! But the blue jacket does it for me! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI should have! I have so many stripes in my wardrobe!
DeleteI love your stripey tee shirt dresses, Mica! And your moto jackets. Both are such cute looks!

ReplyDeleteA girl's day out shopping sound like so much fun! Love both of your striped tee dress outfits. You look so comfortable, but polished. I especially like the orange and blue color combination. Thanks for the link up and have a good week!
ReplyDeleteit was such a good day out, definitely!
DeleteStripes + florals is one of my very favorite combinations, and I like how yours turned out!
ReplyDeleteThose leather jackets suit you perfectly, Mica. I also like your bags, as you can wear them round the clock.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week.
I thought if your legs would be chilly, as I remember you saying it was winter. Nothing a pair of tights could solve. So nice of your mum to get you those tops, I can't wait to see them either. I hope your kids enjoyed the 3 parties in a row, wow. I hope your doing well : ) xoxo

We are lucky winter is coming to an end here so it's not too cold - especially with jackets and scarves keeping me warm :)
DeleteOh how I love stripes! Yay for shopping, and glad the kiddos got to hit up some fun birthday parties <3

I really like the juxtaposition of the tee dresses with the leather! Very cute! Monday has been so busy so far. I have one hours at home in between my morning errands and picking up the boys. I'm tired!

Wearing dresses during winter - even mild winters - can be a bit tricky. But I think you’ve done an excellent job. These are lovely outfits.

A moto jacket (or 10?) is on my list for this Fall. I am going to wait until they come into stock at one of our local discounted shops. They usually get a couple different colors.

yes I'd love to add more colourful jackets to my wardrobe but I always wait for a sale too! :)
DeleteThose dresses would also be cute with leggings, especially if it was much colder.
ReplyDeleteI've worn them with leggings in the past, they look cute with leggings and ankle boots! :)
DeleteT-shirt dresses are so versatile no matter the season as you've aptly shown in these two fabulous looks. Well done, Mica.

I hate those days where you're not sure which way the weather is going to go for your outfit, although we seem to get an awful lot of them here. I love looks like this, my wardrobe is full of basics like this that can be worn with just about anything x

Happens a lot as the seasons draw to a close I think!
DeleteThese are wonderful looks :-D
ReplyDeleteFantastic outfits, Mica! I love the pop of orange in the first one (you look wonderful against the orange backdrop!), and how lovely to get away for a shop with your mum! The scarf and the bag are such a good mix in the second outfit. Love it!
ReplyDeleteUgh, I hope you get more vaccines soon! Thanks so much for the link-party!

ReplyDeleteMe gustaron mucho las chaquetas en especial la del primer look. Es una buena combinaciรณn . Te mando un beso
ReplyDeleteI am so bummed to hear that you are in a continual lockdown loop because of limited vaccines! There is so much talk about more lockdowns with the Delta variant that I have no idea what to expect here either. I love both of your outfits here, though - these striped dresses and jackets look so good together. =)
ReplyDeleteI hope you are having a great week so far!

Hopefully you get more people taking the vaccines so that you don't need any more lockdowns! We are really hoping once we get some vaccines then we will have less lockdowns!
DeleteSo cool post!

Ugh, sorry to hear you're in yet another lockdown! Sounds like the US needs to start sharing some of its supply with Australia, since there are a bunch of folks here who don't seem to want it! Cute outfits though—it's hard to pick a favorite!
ReplyDeleteCheryl Shops | www.cherylshops.net
yeah it's a bit tough seeing it so readily available in other countries and it not being taken up!
DeleteI love the blue and orange together! That's one of my favorite color combos. That's also interesting that you guys have been going into short lockdowns, but it sounds nice if you actually get to do things afterwards! People have been so dumb here in the U.S... ugh.

I love the first outfit so much and it's great you had fun wearing it.
ReplyDeleteShopping with mother sounds like fun.
It is always nice to have some time for ourselves.
your blue leather jacket is so pretty. ...and looks great paired with the striped dress and chic running sneakers. I also like your other outfit with the leather jacket and the striped dress.
Beautiful outfits, both of them.
I'm sorry to hear you've had another lockdown. Keeping my fingers crossed that more vaccines will be available shortly.
ReplyDeleteI've been wearing striped quite a lot lately, so I definitely approve of both of your outfits. That photo of you against the bright orange background is fantastic! xxx
Yes we are all hanging out for more vaccines here! :)
DeleteLike both you rock it. Who more than one birthday in the same day the kids must had a blast.
ReplyDeleteLove these pictures. You are wearing the leather jacket in perfect way with stroped tee. Looking so nice on you, Thanks for sharing the ideas. Lots of Love: Mariann Yip

Colored leather jackets are so underrated! They can add such a cool, unexpected punch of color that is really fun to play with.

I've always believed that a leather jacket makes one look good and well-dressed. I've got several such jackets; they come in black and brown. The jackets of the past, however, used to be a bit too heavy, and not very suitable to our climate. I hardly wears them nowadays.
ReplyDeleteYour blue leather jacket looks light and bright, and suits you admirably!
I don't get a lot of chance to wear mine as winter is so brief here in Queensland but I love it when I do :)
DeleteI'm loving the blue of that jacket! Thank you for hosting this link up!

You look lovely in both outfits. It's a shame about the constant going in an out of lockdowns. Hopefully it will get better soon. xx
ReplyDeleteYes at least the lockdowns are short here! That's life sadly until we get more vaccines from the government so we can be safe that way!
DeleteBeautiful look! I like it to much.

have a lovely day๐
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteVery nice looks, the first is my favorite
Kisses ♥
I love the idea of making those striped dresses work in the winter. I never thought of adding cold weather accessories with them before and probably would have just packed mine away next the following spring, lol.
ReplyDeleteI do like trying to wear my summer pieces year-round :)
DeleteThat's nice it's just 8 days! We've not been to a restaurant in two months here. Hahah. I really don't know what's happening anymore. But I do know your winter dressing look with the leather jacket is popping! Can't wait to see what your mom got you from the sales when you wear them in a future outfit entry. Take good care and stay safe :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteThat's so sad your lockdown has been so long :( I hope things get safer for you and it's lifted soon! I'm wearing one of the new tops today so hopefully it will be on the blog soon!
DeleteHello Mica, checking out this posts and happy to read that you are able to go out and have some fun despite the covid.
ReplyDeleteI always love how you mix colors, in the first option that peachy bag makes a great contrast with the blue of the outfit. It is like playing with summer and winter colors at the same time, despite that it seems that winter in your area allows you to play with multiple layers and combinations :)
Stay safe and take care :)

I rarely think of my jean jacket but it looks so cute paired with your dress... I have a similar striped dress that I really should wear mine with (now that you've inspired me). I hope you had a wonderful day shopping with your mom and sister.
