What I wore:
Necklace: Lovisa mixed texture beaded necklace
Dress: Shein navy flower print flowy dress (c/o)
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs metallic mouse flats
Bag: Balenciaga first bag in 2006 Blue India
Why I wore it:
Wore this for my last official day in my old team before moving onto a new role! I'm so excited to start the new year off with a new job, even if I am just on the other side of the building from my old team.Despite the rain it was quite a warm day so this simple navy swing dress was perfect for the office and the commute. I kept the accessories simple with the gold spiral drop earrings, beaded necklace and gold mouse flats. I love a bit of matchy matchy! Thought that this teal-ish turquoise-y Balenciaga first bag would be a nice touch with the navy dress, I really liked this combination and I like that this bag seems a slightly different shade in different lights sometimes! it's hard to tell if it's more turquoise or teal!
Last worn: gold earrings, navy swing dress, beaded necklace, gold mouse flats, Balenciaga blue India first bag.
Other ways to wear: navy swing dress and sneakers, gold mouse flats worn 30 ways, Balenciaga blue India first bag and shorts.
Perfect for pregnancy: gold mouse flats in third trimester.
Balenciaga Bags Vs Rebecca Minkoff Bags:
What I wore:
Necklace: Tiffany & Co silver 5th Avenue notes heart pendant necklace
Dress: Kmart teal floral print midi dress
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs silver tuxedo flats
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Regan Satchel Tote in moon
Why I wore it:
The same outfit formula as the one above, just a little changed around and an extra layer added. This time it's a teal floral dress and a navy bag. I've worn a different Rebecca Minkoff navy bag with this teal floral midi dress before, I like the colour combo. I thought this Rebecca Minkoff Regan satchel went so nicely with the dress, and with the grey blazer it made it a little more formal for the office.I'd planned to wear this outfit the week before but the wild weather changed my mind. While it was still raining on this day, it wasn't as bad (and I could actually take blog photos on the patio without the rain blowing in). The blazer wasn't needed for warmth as it was still quite humid even with all the rain.
Last worn: grey blazer, Tiffany heart necklace, teal floral midi dress, silver ballet flats, Rebecca Minkoff Regan tote.
Other ways to wear: grey blazer and a-line skirt, teal floral midi dress worn two ways, silver ballet flats and pencil skirt, Rebecca Minkoff Regan tote and skinny jeans.
Perfect for pregnancy: silver ballet flats in third trimester.
Blue Floral Dresses Under $50:
How You Can Wear It:
A floral dress is a fun and easy outfit for the office. It looks great worn on its own or you can make it a little more formal with a blazer on top too. Picking a handbag in a different shade of blue is a great way to accessorise too.Weekday Wear Linkup #59

That's a really unusual first dress and it really suits you Mica. I've styled a lovely floral dress today, and I literally can't wait for warmer weather to arrive (in the midst of storms here) Have a super week, what's your weather doing? Jacqui xx
ReplyDeleteHope the storms clear for you soon! it's been back to normal summer heat here now our wild wet weather is over :)
DeleteYay! Congrats on your new position! I really like both dresses--they each have a Boho feel in different ways. I wouldn't have thought to add a blazer to the 2nd one, but it's oh, so trendy!

I'm loving both of your outfits equally here, Mica, there's no way I could choose a favourite. The first dress is fabulous, I do love the flower motifs near the hem and on the sleeves. Your second dress is one I've admired before, it's such a great piece. I love the colour and print and its midi length. And the grey blazer is just perfect with it. Wishing you a great week ahead, Mica xxx
ReplyDeleteThis is the kind of dress I will wear during summer. So pretty and freeing.

That first dress is a Jammy Dress, for sure! I love it (does it have pockets?). Your second dress is a close runner-up - it looks fabulous with the pale grey jacket and shoes.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, Mica!
I wish it did have pockets, them it would be a firm favourite! It doesn't sadly!
DeleteBoth dresses are great, but I really love the first one. I love the folk art feel to it. How fun and fashion forward.

Both of these dresses are fabulous and you wear them so well. The first one looks fantastic accessorized with a long necklace and a chic bag. You know that first look is giving me art deco vibes.
ReplyDeleteThe second dress looks lovely paired with a blazer. Fantastic outfits, both of them.
Dresses are such a great option since they're a complete outfit in one. And there's nothing more feminine than a floral motif.
ReplyDeleteI love all these blue outfit ideas! They all look so pretty! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThat first dress looks so cute on you! The colors and the print go perfectly together!

DeleteVery cute dresses, my friend. I especially like the print in the first one. And the way your necklace hangs perfectly with the print. I usually wind up lassoing one breast with my long necklaces. My 'girls' get it in the way of fashion!!
ReplyDeleteWould love to see where you keep your bags. Have you ever done a post like that? Might be fun!
I have a few videos on my youtube channel with my handbag collection - you can check the tab above!
DeleteBeautiful looks, Mica! I love the first look ... esp that handbag!

I like the teal dress a lot. I missed how you injured your knee? I hope it is better soon. I still can't believe you have Kmarts there. I guess with the rain the fires are done? I don't watch or listen to the news-- only what snippets I see on Facebook.... Is coronavirus anywhere near you and how are people feeling about it its threat?.....
ReplyDeleteWe had a field trip to a pretzel factory today.
Liberty from B4andAfters.com
yes the rain put out the fires thankfully :) Most of our friends and family haven't travelled to high risk areas so are safe from the virus too :)
