Colourful Knits and Printed Jeans With Converse & Rebecca Minkoff Bags

Two colourful knits and printed skinny jeans outfits, with some very different thoughts on each outfit! While both outfits features pieces I love but rarely wear, I'll be putting one piece back into storage for the time being!

What I wore:

cobalt knit and pink neon leopard print jeans with converse and purple bag mum style | awayfromblue

pink leopard print jeans with Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote in plum | awayfromtheblue

Necklace: Kmart pink multi-colour beaded necklace
Knit: thrifted Valleygirl blue knit jumper
Pants: Portmans pink leopard print skinny jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote in plum (on sale!)

Why I wore it:

I really like wearing these pink leopard print pants with blue, so on a colder winter day I thought this blue knit would be a great piece to wear with them. I'm surprised I haven't worn the combination before actually! It was a nice outfit for a warmer winter day - although it was a bit chilly in the shade, this light cobalt knit was all that was needed in the sun.

I did worry my outfit was maybe a little overdressed for a morning running errands and visiting the playground, as these pants can feel a bit loud, being neon leopard print! But they are so fun to wear and I enjoyed wearing them, they were definitely overdue a wear!

The pink beaded necklace matches the leopard print so nicely, and the white Converse continue on the white in the background of the pants. For something a little less matchy-matchy I picked my Rebecca Minkoff purple mini MAB tote bag to wear. I like purple with both blue and pink, it makes a lovely trio worn all together.

Why I wore it:

Unlike the outfit above, I didn't enjoy wearing this as much! I love the chevron printed jeans with the Converse, that's an outfit I've worn lots before, and the red Rebecca Minkoff micro Avery tote bag was a great pop of colour. It also matched the red on the rainbow knit nicely.

This Wildfox distressed knit is one I got from my friend's wardrobe clearout. It's so soft and special to me as it came from her. However it is a little tricky to wear around toddlers. I've tried it a couple of times over the years, and just like another time I wore it, I've rolled the sleeves up a bit to hide some of the distressing and make it less tempting for toddlers to pull on. But pull on it they did! It's already distressed so it's not like they were making new holes in it, but it's not designed for curious kids to try sticking their arm through the holes 😂

After wrestling them off my jumper I decided to still wear it out anyway for the morning - surely once distracted by the park the boys would give up playing with the cosy jumper. But by lunchtime it turned into one of those freak winter heatwave days and I was melting in my cosy outfit. It was easy for the boys to shed some of the layers I'd put them in that morning, me not so much. Thankfully we made it home without dying of heatstroke!

I promptly resolved to put this knit back in the winter box, to try getting it out again next year when the boys are a little bigger. Hopefully they will like it just as much then as they do now ("I like your jumper Mummy, it makes me smile"), but be a little less grabby with it!

Printed Jeans Under $50:

How You Can Wear It:

Jeans are a winter wardrobe staple, especially when paired with cosy knits. For something different, try a pair of printed denim instead. You can use the print to add more colour to your outfit, like I have in the first outfit, or just add more detail to an outfit like in the second outfit.

  1. i am in love with second outfit, Mica. I love bold statement pieces and the jumper is just one of them. I wouldn't worry too much about being overdressed, it's better to be overdressed then underdressed

  2. Awww! That's so cute that they love your jumper! But yes, hopefully next year they won't be so grabby with it, haha. I can see how it would be intriguing to toddlers! It's so cute.

I also LOVE both of your bags. The pop of red from the last one is so perfect. I've been eyeing up a red handbag myself, but have yet to make the purchase. You're helping to persuade me, haha!

Hope you have a wonderful week, Mica!

  5. Kids always find a way to make you see your clothes in a different light, don't they? Too funny that they were trying to fit their arms through the distressing. And I agree with Kellyann's logic! If you can't wear pink leopard pants for running errands, where can you wear them! Haha!

  13. Those pink leopard jeans are so adorable and they look great on you. I love the blue knit you paired them with. Pink and blue is such a cute pairing. Plus, that necklace is so chic. Very pretty styling. Why not get a bit dolled up for running errands? I think every opportunity to wear something we like is a good one. I also really like the casual vibe of the second styling. Perfect for a chilled day vibe.

  19. I love the pink leopard trousers - they don't read as loud or bright to me at all! When I look at them, I see a soft pale pink, as the neon/white blends together. The first outfit is my favourite, for sure.

Not a huge fan of the distressed sweater look - but that's just me! I do love the rainbow on it, and can see why it makes your son feel happy.

  26. The s Wildfox distressed knit is a fun piece and I guess your little ones must've thought so too since they were so tempted to poke their fingers through the holes. Good call to put it back into storage for now since the distressing will probably when your kids are older.
