What I wore:
Earrings: Kmart silver tassel earrings
Necklace: M initial silver pendant necklaceTop: Atmos & Here Arlene wrap top in navy
Skirt: Asos blue textured lace pencil skirt
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs logo plaque flats in camel
Bag: Balenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet (more affordable preloved)
Why I wore it:
This navy wrap top is such a comfortable piece to wear, because I sized up when I bought it as I was pregnant. I was surprised to see I hadn't worn this top and skirt together before, the navy lace works so well with the wrap top.I added the pink Balenciaga city bag for a little extra burst of colour. I wasn't 100% happy with the shoes though, I think another pair would have worked better, maybe a silver pair like I wore below.
Last worn: navy wrap top, tassel earrings, initial necklace, lace pencil skirt, camel flats, Balenciaga sorbet city bag.
Other ways to wear: navy wrap top and shorts, lace pencil skirt in winter, camel flats and olive pants, Balenciaga sorbet city bag and denim shorts.
Perfect for pregnancy: navy wrap top in third trimester, lace pencil skirt in second trimester, camel flats in third trimester, Balenciaga sorbet city bag at 37 weeks pregnant.
What's In My Bag: Balenciaga Sorbet City
What I wore:
Earrings: Kmart blue fringe crescent statement earrings
Necklace: Tous silver heart pendant necklace layered with custom Cooper charm by SilhoupetteTop: Atmos&Here Nile wrap front jersey tee
Skirt: Warehouse navy jacquard pencil skirt
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs silver tuxedo flats
Bag: Balenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet (more affordable preloved)
Why I wore it:
Since I liked the outfit above, I wore a similar outfit the next day I was in the office. I love taking an outfit and following the same formula to create something new without trying too hard! This time around it was my grey jersey wrap top and my navy jacquard pencil skirt. I picked silver flats this time, and liked the outfit a lot more. Surprised to see that this top hasn't been worn in over a year though!Again I stuck with the pink Balenciaga city bag - it's a fun pop of colour! And swapped the grey earrings for these navy ones instead. While the earrings are gold, I still went with silver necklaces and I don't feel they looked out of place.
Last worn: grey wrap top, navy tassel earrings, star necklace, Silhoupette, jacquard pencil skirt, silver ballet flats, Balenciaga sorbet city bag (above).
Other ways to wear: grey wrap top and printed jeans, jacquard pencil skirt layered for winter, silver ballet flats and little black dress, Balenciaga sorbet city bag and monochrome shorts outfit.
Perfect for pregnancy: jacquard pencil skirt in first trimester, silver ballet flats in second trimester, Balenciaga sorbet city bag in second trimester.
Wrap Tops Under $50
How You Can Wear It
While wrap tops work great for breastfeeding (and it was the reason why I bought these tops!) they work equally well when you're not breastfeeding. They are a nice alternative to a plain top, and neutral colours like these mean they work well in an office. If you're looking for a wrap top that will do double duty for corporate style, ones with a modesty snap like these ones are a good way to go.Weekday Wear Linkup #10

These are both such lovely office outfits, Mica! The wrap tops are so versatile and both skirts are so pretty. Love the bright pink bag with both outfits. Hope you guys fared ok with the storms. We lost power Friday night but thankfully no damage or leaking! ;) Thanks for the link up! Hope you have a great week! XXX
ReplyDeleteWe had the lights flicker a few times but our power always came back - how scary you lost power!
DeleteThat skirt is so stunning. I also am in love with that navy wrap. Especially paired with the pink Balenciaga. Those two are seriously two peas in a pod. Stunning Mica.

I really like that blue wrap top and it goes so well with the skirt! They look like they were made for one another, isn't that funny how that works? I liked the shoes with the first outfit but you could change the shoes out next time and have a different look. That's what's fun about accessories, right?!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a fabulous week Mica and thanks for the link up!
xo,
Kellyann
Definitely, accessories are the easiest things to switch out! :)
DeleteI'm not a big fan of wrap tops and dresses, but these two look absolutely lovely. I especially love how you styled the first outfit, the lace pencil skirt is gorgeous!

It's the easiest thing to do, take an outfit formula and just slightly change the pieces! :)
DeleteOh I LOVE the navy wrap top with the lace skirt! You probably know by now that's my favorite skirt of yours- such a great piece. And it's so perfect paired with the gorgeous pink bag.

Lately I've been going through my closet and finding the pieces that haven't been worn much this season. But I don't get out of the house often so I still have a bunch of pieces sitting unworn...OYY. I should start doing some activities out of the house or something but I'm too shy/lazy, haha

Hopefully you can find an excuse to wear them! :)

ReplyDeleteOur windy weather has finally dispersed and made way for a lovely bit of sunshine, let's hope it stays. x
I love wrap dresses, which I have a couple of, but I don't think I have any wrap tops ... Must remedy that soon, as they're very flattering. I'm loving your first outfit the most, you really suit this shade of blue! Hope you're having a great week, Mica xxx
ReplyDeleteWrap dresses are a classic, I love them so much I couldn't resist getting a few wrap tops too! :)
DeleteBeautiful and comfortable outfits, Mica. I'm drawing towards the first look. The colour of the blouse and skirt compliment each other nicely.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a lovely weekend. :-)

Using outfit formulas to help you figure out what to wear makes getting dressed so much easier! Your navy wrap top and skirt look beautiful together! These are both winning combinations!
ReplyDeleteYes, outfit formulas are the best! :)
DeleteOh a wrap top how fun and yes practical! I love both skirts. They look like the inverted versions of each other. The color and lace pattern is so feminine and pretty and totally good for the office

Wrap tops are definitely a great alternative to a plainer tee like you said. I love how you styled both looks. The tops look great with the printed skirts.

Great post, Thanks for sharing ! x.
ReplyDeleteThat first outfit is my favourite - the pieces go so well together (and you know that's my favourite skirt of yours). The second top, while flattering, is kind of a dull colour on you - I like seeing you in brighter, more saturated colours. Your "bag game" is always spot on. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week, my dear!
Thanks Sheila! I had my colours done and grey isn't one of 'my colours' but I love it so much I wear it anyway, haha!
DeleteWhen I see that first skirt I always think how pretty a dress it would make!
