I bought this denim jacket either before or during my uni days - can't remember exactly. I'm sure it's clocked up more than 30 wears but I didn't regularly take outfit pictures before I started the blog. I love a maxi dress and denim jacket outfit when it's cooler.
What I wore:
Jacket: Bubblegum denim jacket
Necklace: Nibbly Bits Abacus teething necklace in popDress: MEV Havana maxi dress C/O Zibibo
Belt: Ralph Lauren silk scarf worn as belt
Shoes: Balenciaga studded sandals in sorbet RGGH
Bracelets: the usual plus silver charm bracelet
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC in aquamarine with python embossed leather (on sale!)
Why I wore it:
This was my Easter Sunday church outfit! I usually go to (and volunteer at) Church Online. But for special occasions it's nice to go to an actual physical church building. Currently swimming lessons are stopping us from going regularly but I'll want to take the boys more often when they get bigger. This is easily one of my favourite maxi dresses - it was a perfect pregnancy dress too, and is a dedicated nursing piece. With the denim jacket it was perfect for a morning at church, watching the boys eat chocolate eggs with lunch and then going out for dinner with the family.
Picked the scarf to wear as a belt as pastels are perfect for Easter, and I'd started to feel I was always wearing this maxi dress with a gold belt so wanted to change it up a little. I think the pink, lilac and aqua of the bag all worked really nicely together in this outfit.
Last worn: denim jacket, Ralph Lauren scarf, MEV nursing maxi dress, Balenciaga sandals, Rebecca Minkoff aqua mini MAC bag.
Other ways to wear: denim jacket for double denim, Ralph Lauren scarf and little black dress, MEV nursing maxi dress at 39 weeks pregnant, Balenciaga sandals and denim shorts, Rebecca Minkoff aqua mini MAC bag and floral kimono.

What I wore:

Necklace: Nibbly Bits Wilma teething necklace in pale daffodilJacket: Bubblegum denim jacket
Dress: Kmart Tropicana sleeveless tiered maxi dress
Shoes: Rebecca Minkoff Georgina studded gladiator sandals in blush (on sale, 44% off!)
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff micro Regan satchel in Harvest Gold
Why I wore it:
This was another church outfit! Wore this to go to a new church that a family friend had started up. It was their first time in a new building and it's kind of close to where we live so we wanted to go and support them on their first day.Although this maxi dress is a bold and colourful choice on it's own, I decided to branch out a little and pair the mustard yellow micro Regan bag with it. A very colourful outfit for me, but one I really loved!
Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarers, denim jacket (above), tropical print maxi dress, gladiator sandals, Rebecca Minkoff micro Regan bag.
Other ways to wear: denim jacket and skirt, tropical print maxi dress for the beach, gladiator sandals and denim shorts, mustard yellow bag and grey tees.

I really like the first outfit, especially the scraf/belt situation. The second one, also very pretty, is too colorful for me.

ReplyDeleteMaxis and really all dresses in general paired with a denim jacket is one of my favorite transitional outfits! It's a great way to get more use out of those light summer dresses :) I absolutely love the one with the tropical print! Best of luck to your friend's new church :)

Love your wavy hair! Also- can't wait to see what autumn fashion looks like in your neck of the woods!
ReplyDeleteI have a denim jacket that I have gotten a ton of wear out of as well. Definitely a classic piece and a great investment. You look great in yours with the maxi dresses. I remember you wearing that first one while you were pregnant, and that printed one is so fun! Perfect looks for church. We usually go to our church, but it is also available online and I was so grateful when Ivy was little to be able to watch online.

It's really quite chilly here now, we had a couple of days of maxi dress weather and now it's definitely jeans and jumpers :( S was in Brisbane last week with work and he said it was lovely. I hope you're enjoying the new outfit possibilities a change in weather brings! I'm a big fan of the colourful dress and bag. It's such a happy outfit!
ReplyDeleteI think the denim jackets are one of those ageless pieces. At least I hope so since we are doing a series on them in two weeks...ha ha!!

Trendy & Tidy
Sadly, my denim jacket is something I've always neglected in my wardrobe and I have no idea why. Now that my wardrobe is very limited and our company has lightened up on the work place dress code, I might attempt to wear it over a dress or two.
ReplyDeleteIt is a good topper for a dress! I'm hoping to hit 20 wears of this one soon so I can do a post with different ways to wear it, maybe give you some wardrobe inspiration! :)
DeleteI love my denim jacket--I wear it all the time! It is perfect with dresses, it adds the perfect casual vibe. My church is always freezing cold so I always have to wear a jacket!
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful! I love maxi dresses but I feel uncomfortable wearing them. It's like I've been wearing the same outfit for years,I usually wear what I feel comfortable with but you gave me motivation to change my style a little!
ReplyDeleteGlad I gave you some inspiration - hope you find a maxi dress you are comfortable with :)
DeleteMy denim jacket took forever to find, I remember visiting many, many stores before finding the perfect one, its super old. Surely over 10 years and it has held strong !
ReplyDeleteWhenever I see someone sporting theirs it reminds me that i need to wear mine more.
Great looks Mica.
Yes they are such classic pieces that rarely show their age! :)
DeleteThank you all for your lovely comments - glad I could give some of you some outfit inspiration!
