Navy Dresses And Purple Bags

I like blue and purple together, no matter the shades! I accessorised both of these navy dresses I wore recently with little purple bags in different shades of purple.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted pastel pink and wooden hexagon bead necklace

Earrings: Mimco silver stud earrings (Christmas present)
Dress: Kmart short sleeve tiered knit dress in indigo ink with pockets
Shoes: Kmart tan crossover slides
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Polene numero neuf mini in textured mauve 

Why I wore it:

On another day of the summer heatwave I needed something simple to wear and this Kmart navy tiered dress was perfect for the heat. I kept the accessories simple with the blush wooden necklace, tan slides and my lilac Polene bag. I had the school drop off and a few hours of working from home before a couple of quick errands in the afternoon and then school pickup.

I like how simple dresses like this are for a hot day - instant outfits! And I thought the lilac and blush accessories worked well with the navy.

Why I wore it:

Another purple bag, and another navy dress. This Jaase autumn leaves print dress is one of my favourites and was perfect for a day at my parents. It was still warm despite being a very wet day, so this light viscose long sleeved dress was just right for the weather. I added the Adidas Superstar sneakers to have closed in shoes for the rain and as a practical choice for a quick errand before the drive down the cost to my parents.

With the red autumnal leaves colours in the print of the dress, I wasn't sure this purple Paraty bag would work, as much as I like navy and purple together. But I'm glad I gave it a wear with this dress, I think it worked nicely with the leaf print.

Printed Dresses and Red Saddle Bag

For my last blog post until after Christmas day, two pretty printed dresses with my little red Rebecca Minkoff saddle bag, that's gotten a lot of wear recently. It's a little nod to the Christmas season!

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

This is what I wore for our annual family Christmas photo. I try get one to put in our Christmas cards every year, although finding somewhere that accepts dogs every year isn't easy. We can't leave Cooper out of the family photo though!

Went with this pretty dress that I wore for a belated Christmas celebration at the in-laws last year. It feels festive, with the bright coral floral print. It's not the first time I've worn these gold bauble earrings or the nude gladiator sandals with this dress, they are great accessories with it.

It's the first time I've worn this little red saddle bag with the dress though - I was worried about the coral print and the red of the bag not looking good together, but I really liked the combination and I'm glad I gave it a try.

Why I wore it:

I wore this back at the end of November, to go down the coast and finish off my Christmas shopping. Just like the family Christmas photo above, it's an annual tradition! My mum and sister and I hit the shops for a full day of shopping to finish buying all our presents. It was a very productive day, we were there at the shops until we heard the closing messages again, and I got a lot of presents bought!

As I knew it would be a long day with a lot of walking and some driving, wore my comfortable Sketchers to support my knee. With the resin bracelet stack, the gold glitter earrings and the little red bag, this felt a bit Christmas-y, without being too festive as it was still November. I really liked this outfit! The red saddle bag looks so good with the autumn leaves print of the dress.

Navy Dresses And Metallic Accessories

Wearing two navy dresses with metallic accessories for two different spring days recently.

What I wore:

Earrings: neutral clay disc earrings
Dress: Jaase Celine autumn leaves mini dress
Shoes: Novo Tawny rose gold sandals
Bracelets: the usual plus Polka Luka resin bangles in red and yellow and orange
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch in champagne gold 

Why I wore it:

We spent the afternoon down the coast with my parents, so I dressed up this go-to floral print Jaase dress with the metallic gold envelope clutch and the rose gold sandals. Even though the shades of gold don't match I felt they were far enough apart that they worked. I hadn't worn these resin bracelets for a while so got them out again - I liked the yellow, red and orange as it was similar to the autumn leaves in the print of the dress.

Instead of adding a necklace, just went with some large but slightly hard to see earrings, these circular ones are a lovely mix of neutrals but it means they get a bit hidden in my hair!

Why I wore it:

This was a much busier day than the day above! I changed my hours for working from home so I could start and finish up a little earlier - had to take Cooper to the vets and then I had to pick the kids up from school to take them to the dentist in the afternoon. Needed a nice simple outfit, so went with this Kmart navy tiered dress that I'm surprised hasn't been worn more recently, I love it!

Just like the outfit above, I added metallic accessories with the silver Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag, and the silver necklace. Comfortable sneakers with the Adidas Superstar for a bit of driving around, and the denim jacket because it was a little too cold a spring day to wear this short sleeve dress with bare arms and legs.

For today's Weekday Wear Link Up I'm sharing two printed dresses and blazer outfits that I wore to the office recently.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

I wouldn't have normally have reached for this dress for a day in the office - it is a little casual, but I felt the ankle boots and the grey blazer dressed it up enough for a quiet day. And I wanted something that would be suitable for a day at work and an evening out, as after work I headed out to a graduation evening for a family member. Needed the big Louis Vuitton Neverfull to pack with everything for the day and the evening. It was so much fun, although a very late night for the kids, it was so good to celebrate the graduation.

I think this blazer was the perfect topper over this dress to make it more office-ready. The longer length was really good with the ruffle hem of the dress.

Why I wore it:

This dress, unlike the one above, has been worn to the office many times. It's such a good office dress as it's super comfortable and the teal colour goes with all my blazers. I liked this navy blazer with the teal background of the dress, and how the white gingham on the cuffs matched the white in the floral print. Needed comfortable shoes after aggravating my knee injury the prior weekend, so went with these blue Converse. I think the different shades of blue with the blazer, dress, Chucks and damier Azur print of the Neverfull all worked well together.

Floral Print Dresses With Boots and Cream Chloe Paddington Bags

Two floral dress outfits for autumn with ankle boots and little cream Chloe Paddington bags. One outfit for daytime, the other for a rare date night evening out.

Why I wore it:

Given that this dress is called the autumn leaves print I figured I should give it a wear in autumn! With the ankle boots it was perfect for lunch with my family down the coast. I thought that the cream beaded statement earrings were a nice bit of matchy-matchy with the little Chloe Paddington bag too. The cream is a very different shade from the whites and peaches in the dress print, but I still really like this bag and dress together.

As we were just heading down the coast for lunch and I didn't need to carry much, this little bag was perfect.

Why I wore it:

Date night outfit! I layered up with the tall leather boots and the leather jacket over this fun floral print dress. It is on its seventh wear, which is giving me great cost per wear as it was a $2 Kmart clearance find last year! I wanted to dress up a bit with a dress, but also wanted to be warm, so this was the perfect outfit.

We had a bit of an early date night for our wedding anniversary, enjoying dinner and a little stroll along the river (the leather jacket was definitely a good choice!) before enjoying a show at the Brisbane Comedy Festival. It was a lot of fun to go out kid free for a night. I dug out my old Chloe Paddington clutch bag - I wore this on my wedding day, and it has so much sentimental value, even if it's been a while since I last wore it.

It's definitely a date night only clutch - barely fits my phone, some cards and lipstick in it, as it's from pre-smart phone days, haha!

Printed Dresses and Mango Yellow Balenciaga Envelope Clutch

Adding a big pop of colour to my printed dresses for Easter weekend back at the start of April, with my mango yellow Balenciaga envelope clutch.

Why I wore it:

Wore this for an early Easter lunch and egg hunt with my family down the coast. I wanted to be comfortable, so flat sandals and this amazing Jaase printed dress were perfect. I thought that the yellow necklace and mango Balenciaga envelope clutch, along with the statement gold earrings, made this a little more formal for Easter lunch. But still comfortable and practical for a day full of eating and egg hunting and playing in the back yard! We actually all ended up staying for dinner as well, we had so much fun! It was a really good day.

Why I wore it:

Wore this to church on Easter Sunday. Unlike our family egg hunt, I wasn't going to be able to leave my clutch sitting as we ran round searching the garden for eggs. So I decided to take this little chain strap I bought on ebay last year to use with my MbMJ clutch, to turn this Balenciaga envelope clutch into a shoulder bag. It was pretty good for a quick hack, as you can see in the video. Even if the chain strap isn't centred in the bag I found it worked well enough for the morning and afternoon at church. And most importantly, it let me be hands free for the egg hunt with the kids, ha!

Although the Balenciaga envelope clutch has rose gold hardware, with the silver chain strap I felt silver accessories would be best so went with these statement silver leaf earrings and little silver Tiffany necklace.
