30 Ways to Wear: Olive Embroidered Target Tank

Since I've finally achieved over 30 wears with this olive embroidered peasant tank I bought from Target quite some time ago, it's time for another 30 ways to wear post showcasing all of the different outfits I've created with this top.

30 Ways To Wear: Olive Embroidered Target Tank

Cost Per Wear

I've worn this tank 31 times, not bad for a $10 Target clearance buy! It works out as just 33 cents a wear. It was an impulse sale find, after a day out with Beth (who used to be a blogger). I bought it browsing the target sale racks when she was visiting Brisbane, back in May 2016. In the almost a decade that I've owned it, 31 wears seems a bit low (an average of 3 wears a year) but I'd definitely have counted this tank as a workhouse in my wardrobe.

This is why I enjoy doing these 30 wears posts, I see the pieces I think I wear a lot and how often they are actually worn. It's a great way to understand my own wardrobe as well as hopefully influencing you to take a new look at some of the clothes in your own wardrobe.

The only downside with this top is that this super soft tank is a blend of modal and elastane, so it's definitely showed the wear over the years, and it's finally time to retire it from my wardrobe. I'm pickier with fabrics now and I tend not to buy anything new that is made with an elastane blend, just like I said the last time I hit 30 wears but had to retire a piece as it just wasn't holding up as the elastane had worn down. I have enough workout leggings and workout gear I won't have to buy new for a while!

I did enjoy having this tank in my wardrobe though, and I liked the tassels as well as it gave me a chance to try wear this a few different ways, by just knotting the tassels at the neckline, or leaving them untied and loose.

Here's 30 of my favourite outfits from the 31 ways I've worn this tank:

Olive Embroidered Tank With Printed Pieces

With the black embroidery on this tank I'm never sure if  a print will look too "busy"
being wore near the embroidered design. When I have tried printed pieces with this top though, I've really liked the combination. A good lesson that it's important to give new things a try before making up my mind.

Shorts and Olive Tank Outfit

This olive embroidered sleeveless tank, in such a light fabric, is ideal for Brisbane's summer heat, especially when worn with shorts. I've worn this tank with shorts a few times, enough for me to call it out as a separate way to wear idea.

Yellow Bags and Olive Embroidered Tank Outfits

Sometimes you want a bag that really pops against our outfit, and with this neutral olive green tank, yellow is a fun pop of colour to wear with it! I've worn that mustard bag a few times as you can see in the first 3 outfits, but the lighter and brighter yellow bag in the last outfit there looks great with the olive green too.

Olive Embroidered Tank and Blazer Outfits

Like most people attending the office after 2020, my business casual office is even more casual than usual, so denim is definitely a weekday appropriate outfit choice. I do try dress up the tank a little when I wear it with denim to the office, by wearing a blazer on top to add a little formality to my outfit.

Olive Green Tank With Pink Accessories

Neon pink is definitely my favourite shade to wear with this olive tank! I've worn the same neon pink Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag 3 times with this tank! I had tried other shades of pink of course, from the blush blazer or the lighter pink of the handbag in the top right outfit.

Olive Embroidered Tank Worn With Neutral Browns

Olive green is a good neutral shade, so you can't go wrong wearing it with more neutrals. As you can see in the outfit photos, different shades of browns (like the camel trench coat, leopard print skirt, or tan bag and brown floral skirt) pair so nicely with the olive green.

Olive Tank Worn With Blue

I like blue and green together, and while I do prefer brighter blue shades with this olive green tank, like the tie dye skirt or the cobalt blazer, less vibrant blues like the storm grey of the bag in the middle outfit, also work well.

Olive Embroidered Tank Worn With Black Skirts

With the black embroidery on tis tank, wearing it with other black pieces is an easy matchy-matchy outfit combination. I really like wearing this olive tank with black, as you've seen in the outfits above, and I was surprised I have worn it so many times with black skirts, so it deserved to be another outfit combination to call out.
