Leopard Print Tees and Distressed Denim Skirts With Aqua Mini MAC Crossbody Bag

Demonstrating my love of outfit formulas again by wearing two incredibly similar outfits with distressed denim skirts, sneakers and leopard print tees, a few days apart. One more colourful outfit and another more neutral one, but both with an extra pop of colour from my Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag in aquamarine.

Skirt: JayJays distressed denim mini skirt
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual plus House of Harlow sunburst wrap bracelet in cobalt
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAC in aquamarine with python embossed leather (get it in pink)

Why I wore it:

This was an easy outfit for a hot day! I like the boxy cut of this tee, although I do think that maybe I should have tucked it into this distressed denim skirt. I really loved it last time I wore it that way with another denim skirt. I felt comfortable and colourful in this all day though, it was only looking at the pics I thought I should have tucked the tee in.

I like orange and blue together so the cobalt beaded necklace and House of Harlow wrap bracelet were easy accessory options with this, and the little aqua mini MAC really pops with the neon orange leopard print. It's not the first time I've worn this bag and tee together, I really like the pairing!

I'd planned a relaxed day for some child-free time after dropping both kids off at school. I did have a couple of errands to run, but I managed to make it to my favourite opshop for a very long and leisurely browse too. I didn't get much for myself but I did fill a bag of clothes for the kids that was just $5! Pretty good deals! The Adidas Superstar sneakers were nice and comfortable for the little bit of running around I did in the morning before school pick up in the afternoon.

Ways To Wear a Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted Eb&Ive black wooden bead multi strand statement necklace (new purchase)
Tee: Kmart grey leopard print tee

ShoesNew Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bracelets: the usual plus Marc by Marc Jacobs enamel turnlock stripey hinge black and white bangle
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAC in aquamarine with python embossed leather (get it in pink)

Why I wore it:

Our usual Friday library visits have been pushed to the weekend now both kids are in school! After a great week at school I took the kids out to the library to pick up some new books, and then to the bike track for a little ride around. It was threatening to rain all morning but thankfully we were in the car on the way home before the rain started, perfect timing!

This necklace is one of my recent opshop finds - it's the same as the turquoise one I thrifted at a different opshop back in December, what are the chances! I thought I'd keep it simple and use it with a monochromatic outfit with this grey leopard print tee and the black Nobody Denim distressed skirt, and black New Balance sneakers. The grey tee was a bargain Kmart clearance find a couple of years ago and as this is it's 6th wear I'm definitely getting good value from the $2 I spent on it!

Of course I couldn't have a completely neutral outfit - I always want to add some colour - and much like it was in the first outfit above, the little aquamarine mini MAC bag was a great pop with this leopard print tee. It looks so good with black and grey.

Last worn: grey leopard print tee, distressed denim skirt, black and white bangle, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff aquamarine mini MAC bag (above). First time I've worn the necklace as it was a recent opshop find.

How You Can Wear It

Tess and denim are a summer staple! A printed tee, like these two leopard print ones, can add a little more interest to a simple tee and denim skirt outfit.

  1. Hi
I liked your first look more than the second! Because as you know I'm a woman of vibrant colors, and I'm at a stage where I love to wear orange. The tee with the denim skirt was perfect. Sorry I didn't participate in the link up, but I'm sick and didn't have time to comment on blogs!

  8. A good outfit formula makes getting dressed so much easier. I can see why you're such a fan of this combination. I tend to be the same way in that when I put together a neutral look, I always want to add a pop of color. I just love color and it makes me happy.
Thank you for your kind words of encouragement and support Mica! It means the word <3

  9. Is comfort more important than style? If you felt comfortable in the top, it was probably fine.

    1. So true, comfort is most important - but I felt amazing in this outfit and think it doesn't translate in the photo - maybe top tucked in would have looked better.

  10. Hey, when you have a formula that works, you have to repeat it! I love both outfits - that turquoise bag just pops, doesn't it? I love it with the orange in the tee. I agree, you could have done a front-tuck in the first outfit, but it's not terrible because you didn't. :)

Glad you got a little time to yourself, Mica! Have a great week!

    1. So true - I think I'm still learning with these denim skirts, but so far most of the time I find myself wishing I'd tucked tops in, haha! And I love repeating an outfit combo over and over :)

  11. Hello Mica, I hope everything is going well!

Seems that these outfits are perfect for running daily errands but they also have a great dose of style! I like that you added sneakers in both options, I'd say they can look good with almost everything!

    Have a great weekend ahead!

  12. I'm with Sheila, if you've got a formula that works, then why not repeat it. My favourite is the first outfit. I'm loving the pops of colour from the orange leopard tee and the aqua bag. Not wearing the tee tucked in looks just fine to me. It must have been heaven having some time to yourself although your long browse mostly resulted in clothes for the kids :-) xxx
