Navy Outfits With Marc by Marc Jacobs Electric Violet Bag | Weekday Wear Link Up

Enjoying some of the warmer spring weather, and making the most of this Marc by Marc Jacobs clutch that I thrifted last year. It only came with a short shoulder strap at the opshop. I've enjoyed swapping out the strap for some of my longer crossbody straps from my other bags in the past, but decided to get a simple silver chain strap for it too. I picked this one up from eBay, and although it turned out a little long on me, it was easy to double over. With the Marc by Marc Jacobs line revival, and the new chain strap, I can see myself wearing this bag a lot more!

What I wore:

navy tee, pink leopard print jeans, playdate outfit | awayfromblue

pink leopard print jeans, thrifted Marc by Marc Jacobs Dr Q Convertible clutch in electric violet | awayfromtheblue

Necklace: Target silver Alisha trinity pendant necklace
Tee: Jeanswest Ruby frill sleeve Ric Rac detailed tee in deep iris
Jeans: Portmans pink leopard print skinny jeans
Shoesslim navy and pink Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual plus turquoise and silver bracelet stack
Bag: thrifted Marc by Marc Jacobs Dr Q Convertible clutch in electric violet

Why I wore it:

Simple and colourful shorts and tee outfit for a playdate for my son. I really like wearing these pink leopard print pants in spring, they are just so cheerful and perfect. Of course I wear them with a lot of blue, as I really like blue and pink together, but surprisingly this is the first time I've worn this particular navy tee with them! Despite the extra little frilled statement sleeves I thought this was a pretty basic tee to let the jeans shine as the statement in my outfit.

It was a good first test of this new little chain strap for my Marc by Marc Jacobs clutch bag too! The electric violet is a very purple toned magenta, and I liked it against the pink and navy. I think this bag will get a lot more wear with the new crossbody strap, and it makes it easy to be matchy-matcy with the simple silver chain and my silver necklaces.

Last worn: navy tee, silver circle necklace, leopard print jeans, bracelet stackHavaianas, Marc by Marc Jacobs Classic Q convertible clutch.

What I wore:

Atmos&Here navy stripe tee dress with sneakers, Marc by marc jacobs classic Q convertible clutch bag electric violet | awayfromtheblue

navy black striped shift dress, thrifted Marc by Marc Jacobs Dr Q Convertible clutch in electric violet | awayfromtheblue

Necklace: Lovisa silver love knitted heart pendant necklace
DressAtmos&Here navy stripe tee dress
ShoesAdidas Stan Smith sneakers in white and navy
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: thrifted Marc by Marc Jacobs Dr Q Convertible clutch in electric violet

Why I wore it:

I really like this navy striped shift dress. While I do layer it up and wear it over winter, I love it worn simply on its own in spring with sneakers. These Adidas Stan Smith were really comfortable, even if I didn't have to do a lot of driving. Just working from home and picking up the kids from school. Again, just like the outfit above, I really liked the electric violet colour of the Marc by Marc Jacobs bag with the dark navy of the dress. It goes so well with navy!

Just like in the first outfit too, I accessorised with a silver necklace to be a bit of matchy-matchy with the silver chain strap. Because it's quite a light bag the strap isn't uncomfortable on my shoulder which is nice.

Last worn: navy stripe tee dress, silver heart necklace, Stan Smith sneakers, Marc by Marc Jacobs convertible clutch (above).

Other ways to wearnavy stripe tee dress and leather jacket, Stan Smith sneakers and jeans, Marc by Marc Jacobs convertible clutch and culottes.

How You Can Wear It:

Blue is my favourite colour so of course I think navy is the best neutral! It works well with other brighter colours, like the pink leopard print jeans or the magenta-purple of the MbMJ bag.

  16. Smart idea to swap out a short strap for a longer one. I like it when straps are adjustable or at least allow for switching them around like you did.

  18. I like color and shape of that color because look elegant, but in the same time is big enough so you can put a lot things inside. Also way how you style it with black dress is perfect.

  20. All handbags must have crossbody straps. At least in my opinion. It's too much hassle to wear them just over the shoulder. Pink and blue is a nice combo.
