Striped Tee Dresses With Pink and Purple Accessories: Balenciaga Bags and High Tops

Two incredibly similar outfits following an almost identical outfit formula. Striped tee dresses like these are perfect for spring, especially when you add bright accessories like purple high tops, Balenciaga bags and an extra touch of pink.

Why I wore it:

Wore this to take the kids out to the movies! Movie theatres have been open for a while when the restrictions lifted but we haven't really felt the need to go. We haven't been big movie goers since having kids, so it wasn't like we felt we were missing out when things were closed. My sister scored us free family tickets to a Paw Patrol movie though, so we decided to take advantage and take the kids out to their first movie of the year. The last one we saw at the movies together was Frozen 2!

While it was a warm spring day I knew it would be cold in the cinema so I took the opportunity to wear this long sleeved tee dress I thrifted a few weeks ago. Added more colour to it with the purple high top shoes and Balenciaga work bag. Even though the shades of purple are very different I thought they looked good together. The pink skull scarf was another way to add even more colour and picked again for extra warmth in the cinema.

It was a really fun morning out and I'm glad we went - even if the kids were getting annoyed with how frequently I was getting them to sanitise their hands!

Why I wore it:

This was another fun day! Had a rather boring morning of errands and getting my tax done, but I got to spend the afternoon with my sister who stayed for dinner with us.

This striped tee dress is actually one from my sister's wardrobe, I gained it in one of her wardrobe clear-outs luckily! With the neutral black and white stripes I used accessories again to add more colour, with the purple high tops (also from my sister's wardrobe clear-out... ) and a touch of pink with the marble necklace and Balenciaga sorbet city bag.

I've shared 30 ways to wear this pink Balenciaga city bag before and wearing it with black is a combination I've worn heavily over the 10 years I've had it. It just pops so well! I really liked this outfit. Perfect for such a hot day too.

How You Can Wear It:

A stripe tee dress is a good basic to have in your wardrobe, especially in neutral colours. You can change it up each time you wear it with brightly coloured accessories. Add more colours with shoes, bags, and scarves or necklaces depending on the weather.

  8. I sadly find that striped dresses never look great on me so I'm always a little envious when other people pull them off so well. I really love the second one shown here, those sleeve details are fantastic!

  11. This is embarrassing but my youngest has never even been to the movies! And my oldest was there maybe 2 years ago? Now who knows when we can go with the rising infection rates. The paw patrol movie sounds really cute! I'll have to look for it, both kids like paw patrol and I appreciate the wholesome helpful themes! Your striped dresses look really cute!

  12. Ooh, I love both striped dresses! They look amazing on you, and how cute are those purple high-top Cons, Mica?? That's so nice of your sister to give you some things!

I am way too cautious to go to a movie theatre right now - I just don't trust a bunch of people with their masks off, eating popcorn, and laughing and spreading their moist breath! ah! I run away! :)

  13. Stripes are so versatile and fun to style! I love that pink scarf with that first dress, it really adds a pop of color! That second dress is cute too and love how it has a darker color to it. Your bags are both perfect for a punch of color with both these looks!

  15. Hey Mica,

Hope you're doing great! Both outfits are good casual options with an interesting pop of color in the accessories, they say they are like the cherry on top right? They are definitely the best option to make an interesting outfit proposals (the colorful Balenciaga bags and the McQueen scarf).

Happy to read that you had the chance to go to the movies.... sincerely one of the things that I miss the most and unluckily movie theaters are closed again over here :(

And I bet those Balenciaga bags were good purchases that will continue to be with you for years.... I remember this model was very popular back in the day but they are still a good design and a hit of the brand!

    Keep safe!

  17. When you have a winning outfit formula, it makes sense to repeat it. Vibrant accessories are such a fun way to add color to your looks. I get a little tired of sanitizing my hands when I'm out so I can imagine it be really annoying for your little ones.

  18. I love both outfits! A stripe tee dress is definitely a good basic to have. I actually only have a colorful version, but a more neutral one seems like a great item to have.

I hope you had fun at the movies.
