I really liked the outfits though, despite not liking my hair! Stripes and maxi skirts with a bright and colourful bag is an outfit formula I'll always return to.
What I wore:
Sunglasses: Ray-Ban new Wayfarers
Necklace: Nibbly Bits Abacus teething necklace in popTank: Jeanswest 'Josie' striped back strap tank
Skirt: Jeanswest Luxe maxi jersey skirt
Shoes: black slim Havaianas thongs
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff neon pink mini MAC (on sale!)
Nails: OPI Rich Girls and Po Boys
Why I wore it:
I really liked this outfit. Last time I wore this skirt with a striped tank I wasn't so impressed with the result, but these pieces together I loved. The only thing I didn't like about this outfit was when I stood in a puddle and got the hem of my maxi skirt wet! Until that point, it had been a good outfit to wear when having some work done on the house and then running a few errands. This neon pink mini MAC bag is a great pop of colour against the black and white, especially when paired with the colourful teething necklace. I've worn the bright accessories with striped maxi skirt outfits before too, in this post.
Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarer, striped tank, drawstring waist maxi skirt, Havaianas, neon pink mini MAC bag.
Other ways to wear: striped tank and print mixing, drawstring waist maxi skirt worn two ways, neon pink mini MAC bag and jeans.

What I wore:
Necklace: Nibbly Bits Abacus teething necklace in pop
Tank: Jeanswest Jenni basic singlet in Royal Lilac purpleSkirt: Target navy side split maxi skirt
Shoes: Wittner 'Jasmarie' studded sandals
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff neon pink mini MAC (on sale!)
Nails: OPI Rich Girls and Po Boys
Why I wore it:
Luckily I managed to avoid the puddles when I wore this! This was a nice easy outfit, perfect for Baby Boy's weekly weigh and then spending time with my mum and sister in the afternoon. As I liked the accessories in the outfit above, I wore them together again the next day with this similar outfit. Unlike the first outfit, this one was a little more colourful with the blue and purple accessorised with pink. The purple tank and navy skirt have been worn together before too. That last time I picked a neutral bag instead.
I have a few colourful bags and while my favourite way to wear them will always be as a single pop of colour against a neutral outfit, sometimes it's nice to try wearing something more colourful. I'm trying to be more adventurous with colours in my wardrobe and wear different combinations.
Last worn: purple fitted tank, navy stripe maxi skirt, studded sandals, Rebecca Minkoff neon mini MAC (above).
Other ways to wear: purple tank and a baby bump, navy stripe maxi skirt and Louis Vuitton Neverfull, studded sandals and breastfeeding dresses, Rebecca Minkoff neon mini MAC and floral kimono.

How You Can Wear It:
A brightly coloured handbag can be worn just as much as a neutral one. If you're not sure how to wear it, you can't go wrong letting the bag be a single pop of colour against a monochrome or neutral outfit. You can be bolder and wear it with a brightly coloured outfit too - stick to colour combinations you often wear and you'll find a bright bag is an easy addition.

Such cute outfits! I love the first one especially with the pop of pink against the black and white, it has a bit of a retro vibe I've always loved. Also, that's so thoughtful of you to grow out your hair for the sole purpose of donating it! Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a great day!

Yes, it's a nice thing to be able to do - my bestie inspired me!
DeleteOh, I love that bright pink bag! What a fabulous accessory. Your purple/pink/blue combo is perfect, Mica. I like your idea of pulling a yellow scarf out for your purple maxi (per your comment on my blog). Colour!
ReplyDeletehehe yes I haven't tried it yet but I will! I think it will be nice and colourful!
DeleteI really love your hair! I think the waves are just right! I have yet to master a heatless way to make waves in my hair, it's so thin, it doesn't hold anything. Love your outfits too!

I really like my bright pink bag, but I hardly ever wear it, I think letting it pop against the neutrals works the best though!

I think it's so sweet you are growing your hair out to donate it! I also give you mad props for doing so. When my layers grow out, I get so cranky and do nothing but pony tail it for weeks. Then, I typically chop it all off. (; Totally what happened this last time. lol I hope you're able to find something that works for you!
ReplyDeleteI actually don't have anything for pop of color in terms of accessories. A few of my kimonos are busy, and I pair them with super neutral tops and a pair of jeans. (:
Yes, I'm hoping I don't hit that stage - I've done that a few times too! :)
DeleteYour hair looks good to me! I'm in that stage where I like how long it is but it also annoys me so I'm thinking of getting it cut...GAH! Haha

Oh wow I can totally relate to getting the hem of jeans or dress wet in a puddle. luckily you were wearing a dark skirt ;)
ReplyDeleteI like that first look and think its so nice of you to donate your hair. My husband donated his a few years ago.
Oh wow it's awesome your husband could do it!
DeleteI think the black and white look is lovely against the bright pink colour. It's also always nice to donate and give back, you look adorable with a longer hairdo. Have a great week, Mica! x/Madison
ReplyDeleteThat bright pink bag is fabulous!!! And I always love stripes! Both great outfits!

ReplyDeleteThat hot pink bag is so fun, I love it! And I like your wavy hair! How long will it get before you donate it?? That is awesome that you're doing that. Have a great week Mica!
ReplyDeleteHas to be at least 31 centimetres long when it's in a ponytail for me to donate it :)
DeleteI totally love the bright pop of pink! I hope your little man is getting better and the dr. appointment went well!

I am really liking the bright pops of color with these two outfits! That pink bag is darling! I have a bright pink bag, but don't think to pair it with anything but black. You've inspired me to try it with other bright colors!
ReplyDeleteyey, glad I could inspire you to try something different! :)
DeleteI was just going to comment on your hair looking darker...love the waves and the idea of donating it!
ReplyDeleteLove your outfit, especially your bag! I've been eyeing that Rebecca Minkoff bag for the longest time!

Your "not-so-perfect" hair is actually very lovely. Did you say you are growing it out to donate it? Wow. Some African women would die to have your hair. Really nice.
ReplyDeleteYour outfit is fab.
