What I wore:
Top: Jeanswest 'Tilda' black shirt
Pants: Jeanswest Vicki skinny pant in moss green (new purchase)
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs logo plaque flats in camel
Bag: Balenciaga truffle brown RH classic day bag
Why I wore it:
Wearing some of my recent purchases from Jeanswest! Yes, these olive pants are now my third pair of green pants! After thrifting a couple of pairs a few weeks ago, I probably didn't need a third pair, but couldn't resist snapping these up on sale. The scarf was the original piece I went in to buy, but with an extra 40% off sale items I browsed the sale rack too. It's not the first time I've worn mustard and green together, I really like the combination and I got so many compliments on my scarf when I wore this. The only downside to it is that the scarf was brand new and shed a little bit - a black blouse that attracts fluff was probably not the best choice. It did make for a great backdrop for the scarf to pop against though!
With the green and mustard together, the black blouse and tan accessories seemed like good neutrals. I really liked this outfit, and I was happy that the olive jeans passed as plain cotton pants for the office.
Last worn: black blouse, Marc Jacobs flats, Balenciaga day bag. First time I've worn the scarf and olive jeans as they are recent purchases.
Other ways to wear: black blouse and a-line skirt, Marc Jacobs flats and wrap dress, Balenciaga day bag and printed dress.
Perfect for pregnancy: black blouse in second trimester, Marc Jacobs flats in third trimester, Balenciaga day bag and hidden baby bump.
What's In My Bag: Balenciaga Day Edition
What I wore:
Earrings: Kmart blue fringe crescent statement earrings
Top: Jeanswest chana long sleeve stud top in night sky navy
Jeans: Jeanswest 'Fiona' skinny leg pant in shiraz
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs metallic mouse flats
Bag: Balenciaga truffle brown RH classic day bag
Why I wore it:
The credit for this outfit goes to all the American bloggers posting about fall! It's a very autumnal coloured outfit for spring, with the navy studded blouse and burgundy pants. I added the leopard print scarf as leopard print has been everywhere on blogs lately. I really liked all these pieces together!Navy and burgundy is a colour combination I've frequently worn with these pants. With the gold statement earrings too, I just had to wear my gold mouse flats for a little matchy matchy. I was in a bit of a rush this morning to get photos and get to work on time so as you can see I didn't notice I hadn't put the mirror back in the bag before snapping some pics. I still loved the neutral brown bag with the navy and burgundy though, even if it shows how much of a rush I was in that morning by being a little untidy.
Last worn: statement tassel earrings, navy blouse, leopard print scarf, burgundy pants, gold mouse flats, Balenciaga day bag (above).
Other ways to wear: navy blouse and grey jeans, leopard print scarf and ombre knit, burgundy pants worn two ways, gold mouse flats and pencil skirt, Balenciaga day bag and printed dress.
Perfect for pregnancy: burgundy pants in second trimester, gold mouse flats in second trimester, Balenciaga day bag for second trimester travel.
Colourful Pants Under $50:
How You Can Wear It:
Colourful pants are a fun touch to a casual office outfit, or just for everyday wear. A plain, block colour blouse is a great topper with colourful pants. You can stick to a neutral shade so you don't have to worry about things matching. You can add more colour or interest to your outfit with a bright or printed scarf too.Linking up with Style Sessions, Trend Spin, Confident Twosday, Style On The Daily.

I love the olive with the yellow - what a fabulous colour combo. The tan accessories are perfect. I also really like the navy/burgundy/leopard mix.
ReplyDeleteExcellent business casual outfits, Mica! Would you believe my office is also business casual? Most people would not guess, based on my outfits!
I think you nail business casual, professional and stylish when you go to work each day! :) Sometimes I dress a little casually, but not all weeks involve many important meetings!
DeleteI think that's smart to have a blazer nearby just in case. But really these outfits are fabulous! I especially love the leopard scarf!

ReplyDeleteLoving the second outfit. You sure know how to rock colored jeans. I hope you have a great week. We just stay in this past weekend.

Thanks Amy! I do love my colourful jeans! :)
DeleteThis first look is definitely one of my favorites of yours. I love the darker colors and then with that mustard scarf it's perfect!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.mylittlenest.org
Thanks Ruth! I think the scarf really makes the outfit! :)
DeleteWe don´t hae a strict dress code either, I could technically show up in denim and a tee, but I have impromptu press events and meetings with my superiors that require a certain dress code. I tend to dress up for the office, but for those days when I went a little more casual I have an "emergency blazer" in my wardrobe at work.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Linda, Libra, Loca
An emergency blazer is a good thing to have! I'm not really customer facing so I do have more leeway with what I wear!
DeleteBoth outfits are beautiful! I love the combination of the bright scarf with the darker colors in the first look and all the lovely rich tones in the second look work so well together. Your look great!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful week.
Kathrin | Polar Bear Style
I really love the first outfit! That scarf and the bag go together perfectly, and I really love the sunny yellow look. I definitely always have a backup blazer in my office, though it rarely ends up being needed.
ReplyDeleteSame - didn't need a blazer either of these days! :)
DeleteOh this is funny, Mica! I'm posting a VERY similar outfit to your first one tomorrow. And I *also* just got a pair of olive jeans!! Love your wine-colored pants too. Gorgeous color!

I think it is an huge advantage if one has some leeway corresponding outfits at the own workplace - lucky you! I like both of the looks you show here and I'm not surprised you got many compliments for the yellow scarf. And you got perfect inspiration from the American bloggers as I also love your second look. This navy with the burgundy works so well together with the camel shade. Kudos to you that you take always pictures although you are so busy each morning. Thanks for that.

Thanks Rena - it's part of my routine to take photos now so it doesn't take long at all !I've been doing it for a few years so I've gotten lots of practice, haha!
DeleteI LOVE both of these looks Mica. You always have such gorgeous color combos. I love the mustard and olive together--I love both colors but I rarely combine them. Making a mental note to do that more. And the burgundy and navy is so pretty too--it does give a nod to the fall weather we're having here in the US. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Shea! I am trying to be more adventurous with colours :)
DeleteI love the purple pants. You're lucky - I have to wear an awful suit uniform!
