JORD kindly gifted me another beautiful watch. I was excited to start wearing a watch again, hoping it would help keep me on time for things. Really it's just become another way for me to see how late we are running! Typical of life with two under 3 I think. As well as a review, I wanted to show you some of the different ways I've worn the women's wood watches I'm lucky enough to own.
I picked the Cora watch as it's a little more dainty than the unisex Fieldcrest watch I have. I was also really intrigued by the purpleheart wood, which looks lovely with the mother of pearl face. As well as the little cut-out detail on the face to see the inner workings of the watch, the back of the face is clear so you can see all the cogs moving around inside which is fascinating - especially to a toddler!
Being a wood watch, it's splash-proof but not waterproof. It means I can wear it through all the constant hand washing that comes along with two boys still in nappies, although I do have to take it off when washing the dishes or showering. It handles stay at home mum duties perfectly. My Fieldcrest watch has held up to a year and a half of use and over 30 wears. It's also been tough enough to cope with being pulled off the bedside table and worn by the toddler more times than I can count, so I'm confident this Cora watch will last as well.
The ordering process was a little different this time around than last time. When you pick your wood watch, you can specify the size of your wrist and get it custom sized for you right out of the box. I used this feature, it's cheaper than getting the band changed at my local watch repair place and it fits perfectly. Being petite with tiny wrists and not always being able to find things to fit me properly, I appreciated this extra service.
The only downside I can find with this watch is that it's an automatic one, so it doesn't use a battery. This means if you get over excited and don't read the manual (guilty!) you won't wind the watch enough when you first set the time and you'll be confused the next day when it stops ticking. Once you read the manual and follow the instructions to properly setup the watch, you won't have any problems and the watch will keep the right time.
Just like my first experience with JORD watches, I was impressed with the speedy shipping time from the US to Australia and the absolutely beautiful presentation. I shared my delight at opening the box on my insta story. These wood watches make great gifts! They are so unique.
If you are inspired by the different ways I've worn my watches or have someone in mind to gift one to, you'll love this generous giveaway! Just by entering you'll get a little something and one lucky winner will get a $100 e-gift voucher. As this is my second wood watch from JORD, I'd be happy to help answer any questions you have about them in the comments too.

The Cora is such a chic and feminine style! I'm terrible about reading manuals when I get new things as well. Blame it on the excitement ;p

DeleteThat's a gorgeous watch, I love the one you picked!! I've seen these watches around the blog world and have always admired them--the wood style is so fun and unique!
ReplyDeleteA lot of bloggers have them! They are definitely the 'in' thing at the moment I think! :)
DeleteHa, Jord pesters me to take a watch and promote it - I never do, not my thing. There's a local store that sells them, and I've admired them, but I rarely wear a watch these days. I really like the one you picked!

I actually think that the watch being an automatic is a plus! I would imagine you need better quality manufacturing in order to make a reliable automatic watch instead of a quartz one. I love the little viewing window as well. Does it keep time well when it's wound? Have you noticed any discrepancies?
ReplyDeleteOh it's definitely better in the long run, just confusing if you haven't wound it up enough the first time haha. Since reading the manual and setting it correctly I haven't had any issues, keeps time perfectly even if not worn everyday.
Deletewhat a gorgeous wood watch! I love the packaging as well, so cute it comes in a wood box too! :)

Your new watch is so pretty! I have tiny wrists too, so I love that Jord makes an effort to size the watch to each person. And I wear a watch mainly to see what time it is when I inevitably wake up in the night, so I could definitely relate to your plight of using a watch to see how late you're running!
ReplyDeletehaha yes, it's not always a good thing to constantly see the time! Being able to order a custom size is a wonderful idea :)
DeleteI absolutely love JORD watches and so does my husband! They are so lightweight and a great accessory! Love the one you chose!
ReplyDeleteYes they do great unisex ones too! :)

Jord watches are always gorgeous. Plus, I like the ecological politics of this company. This watch you got is really nice, so great that you could order your exact size. My wrists are also tiny so I often struggle to find the right watch. Now, I wear a watch that my husband got for a present as a kid, so basically it's a kid watch:)
ReplyDeletehaha kids watches are a good solution for petite wrists if you can't get a custom band or a leather one you can punch more holes in!
DeleteI have the Cora and love it, but I must say I love yours even more! Beautiful wood and watch face.
ReplyDeleteI love Jord. I have their watches and the two you are wearing are my favorites!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day

DeleteThanks for the giveaway promo. Entering for sure. I live the idea if having it custom sized as I too have petite wrists and struggle to find a well fitting watch! Plus they look fab.
ReplyDeleteGood luck! They do look great and the custom sizing option is a wonderful idea for us petites! :)
