Floral Dresses and Black Bags

Two colourful floral print dress outfits I've worn with black strappy sandals and black Rebecca Minkoff bags.

What I wore:

Earrings: gold angel stud earrings
Necklace: For King & Country Priceless Australian coin and crest necklace
Dress: Orange Sherbet Zoe tiered dress in geranium print pink
Shoes: thrifted Anko Kmart black strappy sandals
Bracelets: the usual plus vintage silver charm bracelet
BagRebecca Minkoff medium unlined tote in black with shellac studded dome hardware

Why I wore it:

I had a hard time picking what to wear for this day as I had to WFH in the morning, but picked my son up from school early for an important appointment.

In the end I settled on this pretty red floral tiered maxi dress I'd worn recently for a birthday party, along with simple black sandals and my black unlined Rebecca Minkoff tote bag to store a copy of some of the documents we needed to bring.

This was the perfect outfit to wear in the end - the dress even has pockets, it makes me smile every time I wear it as the print and colours are just so cheerful. Might have been a little overdressed for working from home, but it was comfortable and was ideal for that afternoon appointment, and for when my mum and sister came over in the evening.

Last worn: gold angel stud earrings, For King & Country necklace, Orange Sherbet floral tiered maxi dress, strappy sandals, Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote bag.

Other ways to wearOrange Sherbet floral tiered maxi dress for Christmas, strappy sandals and skirt, Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote bag and shorts.

What I wore:

Jacket: Anko Kmart classic denim jacket
Necklace: Tiffany & Co pink double heart tag pendant necklace
Dress: thrifted no label pastel floral print babydoll dress
Shoes: thrifted Anko Kmart black strappy sandals
Bagthrifted Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Why I wore it:

This was a cooler day so I was happy to wear this denim jacket over the floral babydoll dress for church. I got the denim jacket from the opshop in one of our pre-Christmas opshopping trips, when I saw it I grabbed it right away! Luckily it was my size so mum got it for me for Christmas. I liked the darker blue denim with the light pastel floral print on the dress.

Again I went with black sandals as it wasn't that cold, and it did warm up nicely later. I also wore my little Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag, as I felt I hadn't taken it out in a while, and it matches nicely with the sandals. It's actually a really dark navy, but when the bag and shoes are worn far apart they both look black.

Last worn: Tiffany necklace, floral babydoll dress, black sandals (above), Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag. First time I've worn the denim jacket as it was a Christmas present.

Other ways to wear: floral babydoll dress and blazer, black sandals and jeans, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag and jeans.

Printed Dresses, Sneakers and Marc By Marc Jacobs Fran Bag

Dressing up some casual dress and sneaker outfits with some statement earrings, making the most of the days back in December when there were no Covid cases in Brisbane and no mask mandates. Not sure the outfits worked being so casual then adding the statement earrings, but these were great comfortable outfits and it was nice to give my big earrings another wear!

Earrings: Piper gold and turquoise disc dangle earring

BagMarc By Marc Jacobs Classic Q Fran bag with gold hardware in carob brown

Why I wore it:

This was a busy day! Our usual errands after the school run as well as a trip to the library. After picking up my eldest from school in the afternoon and going to swimming lessons, we headed out to the bay to see the Manly lantern display being switched on. It was really pretty, although we didn't stay too long. We bumped into my sister in law and her family too but the kids were getting hungry - ended up picking up takeaway on our way home which the kids were happy about. It was a hot day and evening so this floral print shift dress was the perfect outfit.

These Adidas Superstar sneakers were comfortable for a little bit of running around during the day and for walking around the lantern displays in the evening. The Marc by Marc Jacobs Fran bag hasn't been worn in a while, it was definitely overdue a wear and was perfect for putting in all our water bottles along with all the essentials.

Last worn: turquoise and gold earrings, floral tee dress, Adidas Superstar, Marc by Marc Jacobs Fran bag.

Marc By Marc Jacobs Classic Q Fran Bag Review:

What I wore:

EarringsKmart blue fringe crescent statement earrings
Dress: Jeanswest 'Chelsea' printed dress
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
BagMarc By Marc Jacobs Classic Q Fran bag with gold hardware in carob brown

Why I wore it:

Again I wore the simple outfit formula of printed dress, statement earrings, sneakers and Marc By Marc Jacobs Fran bag. Wore my cute blue Converse as I thought they went well with the navy print on the dress, even though the shades are different. The navy tassel earrings are a perfect match with the navy tassels on the dress though, making my matchy-matchy self happy.

Even though it was a hot day I liked the longer sleeves on this dress as the aircon in church was a little chilly. The Marc by Marc Jacobs Fran bag was good for church too as it fit water bottles in it as well as a couple books for the kids to read before kids church started.

How You Can Wear It:

Printed dresses are easy instant outfits for summer, and work well with sneakers.
