Kmart Floral Dresses and Louis Vuitton Damier Azur Neverfull MM

Most of my outfits follow a similar formula - bargain clothes and splurge worthy bags! These two are no exception, with the cheap and cheerful floral dresses from Kmart (both under $25) paired with my Louis Vuitton damier azur Neverfull tote (which costs almost 100 times more than the dresses 😂).
Makes a very simple, if expensive, outfit for a hot summer day!

What I wore:

Jacket: no label white drape jacket
Necklace: Lovisa gold filigree heart pendant
Dress: Kmart Tropicana sleeveless tiered maxi dress
ShoesNovo Tawny rose gold sandals
BagLouis Vuitton MM damier azur neverfull

Why I wore it:

Found this old white waterfall jacket in my wardrobe when trying to organise my new wardrobe room (post and video coming once I have it setup the way I want!). It's survived a few wardrobe declutters and it's many years old but it's only been worn a handful of times. The last time was back in 2016! It is a nice simple, lightweight cover up that will go with everything, so that's why I keep justifying keeping it despite how little it's worn. I did enjoy wearing it with this maxi dress, it was a good way to cover up the spaghetti straps and keep warm in church. So for now, it's staying in my wardrobe, and if I don't wear it any time over the next month I'll be donating it.

Kept the accessories simple, and since the Louis Vuitton neverfull tote has gold hardware I went with my rose gold accessories - these strappy sandals and the filigree heart necklace. Simple outfit for the morning at church and a quick stop at Bunnings.

Last worn: white waterfall jacket, rose gold heart necklace, floral tiered maxi dress, gold sandals, Louis Vuitton neverfull tote.

30 Ways To Wear: Louis Vuitton Neverfull

Earrings: Kmart mustard gold tassel earrings
NecklaceSilhoupette gold plated Shih Tzu necklace
Dress: Kmart teal floral print midi dress
ShoesNovo Tawny rose gold sandals
BagLouis Vuitton MM damier azur neverfull

Why I wore it:

Completely outfit repeating here! While it's the first time I've worn the neverfull tote with this dress, I've worn the mustard and gold earrings with it before, and the rose gold sandals. Also wore the same sandals in the first outfit! Wanted a slightly dressy option for our family photo.

For the past few years we have been taking our annual family Santa photo at the RSPCA "Santa Paws" event. It's a great way to get a pic of the whole family, including our dog, and we use the photos for our Christmas cards each year. We were prepared this year, and I wore this for our family photo back in November. Our little one had gotten over his Santa fear a few days before Christmas last year, and we had a tablet lined up with a pre-downloaded video to capture the boys attention. Bag of tricks packed (this neverfull holds so much!) I was feeling confident this year about getting a good photo.

All was good until we actually sat down next to Santa, and the tears began and both the photography staff and Cooper were terrified. Our poor pup, he'd been enjoying the Santa cuddles just moments before! In the end we worked on a comprise and Santa went away and hid so we could get a picture without him. Boys and dogs now calm, Santa snuck up behind us for the final pic and we finally got a good shot. It seemed even more stressful than last year, and I'd thought we were so prepared! I think we may need to look into a Santa-free photo next year! 😂 I did like my outfit at least, even if the day didn't go as smoothly as planned.

Last worn: gold tassel earrings, teal floral midi dress, gold Shih Tzu necklace, rose gold sandals (above), Louis Vuitton neverfull tote (above).

  3. Hahahahaha! SO many things to cover in this post - let me see if I can remember to comment on all of them. That first dress is beautiful and I just love the way you pair a $1000+ (USD) bag with an inexpensive dress. It always makes me smile. And DO NOT get rid of that jacket - it's wonderful! I can see it over a tank top and skinnies and sneakers or sandals or even ankle boots and it looks so cute on you. That second dress is very much like the one Kate Middleton wore for their family Christmas photo. She apparently paid $180 for it but then it went on sale for half price and sold out in minutes. I think she copied you :) Except her bag collection isn't nearly as fancy as yours. And for the Christmas photos - I hope the photographer was snapping away and you got some great bloopers, too! I have one of my daughter crying next to Santa and another of her running away from Minnie Mouse (not a Christmas picture) with her hands stretched out toward me. And no, I never got a good picture of her with Santa. My husband wanted to take our two girls to PetSmart for pictures with Santa. I played that out in my mind in like 3 seconds and said no.

It's been about 12C/55F here the last few days and on Christmas they're saying 20C/68F. I'm OK with that. I can do a warmer Christmas. I'm so glad the week is over and I've pretty much finished all of my Christmas shopping except maybe a few gift cards for the crew that bathes and does my girls' nails and watches them when we have to go out of town without them. Then everybody comes over Christmas Eve and maybe a couple from out of town. Yay :/ At least it'll all be over for me on Christmas day. I hope yours isn't a stressful time and that you have a wonderful weekend and a beautiful Christmas!

    1. haha thank you! i'd love to think I inspired her but she has a much more classical style than mine! :) We did get an okay photo with Santa in the end - but I think we will avoid Santa next year! Hope you had a nice warmer Christmas, even though those temps sound very cold to me, ha!

    1. I love doing that - I am harder on my clothes than my accessories (or I should say the toddlers can be harder on my clothes, ha!) so it makes sense to invest in the accessories!

  8. And yet people still think you can't mix high and low. It can totally be done if you find the right pieces! I love the print and color of that second dress, so pretty :)

  27. I really loved both looks, and your dresses are so beautiful, my favorite is the one in the second look, love the color! I have been doing the same recently but with my clothes, since I've been slowly getting rid of some items, mostly giving them away- so, my style is also a mix of - I wouldn't say designer pieces but I think they still are - so it's a mix of that and fast-fashion which I am trying to reduce on buying and I love it, you can create and throw in different looks and experiment as well. A mix of high and low fashion, one should splurge on accesories, shoes and/or bags, but I've been doing it with clothes, I find that the pieces I own so far are key pieces and ones I will be wearing for many more years. Also, that's something I also call being a smart shopper too! :)

Have a beautiful and happy weekend!
