Black trench, Knitted Maxi Dress, Wedges, Leopard Print Scarf, Mulberry Alexa

Here's what I wore to work today:
JacketTemt Black trench coat (similar here)
ScarfAsos crinkle oversized leopard print scarf (similar here)
Dress: Asos midi black knitted dress (sold out, similar here)
Belt: gifted Ralph Lauren silk scarf worn as belt (similar here)
ShoesBigW Emerson black platform wedge (similar here)
BagMulberry regular size Alexa bag in foggy grey from Reebonz sale
Umbrella: I don't even remember! Crazy Clarks?

Close up of accessories and print on the scarf:
NecklaceHouse of Harlow 5 station necklace in black and silver
Bracelets: the usual plus Marc by Marc Jacobs enamel turnlock stripey hinge bracelet in black and white

It was very cold and rainy today! Had to take photos in the rain. Took my Mulberry Alexa out and it coped really well - I made sure to waterproof it first with waproo spray. My bayswater is "natural leather" which means it gets marks and stains very easily as it is untreated leather. The Alexa is "soft buffalo leather" which is a lot softer and more resilient in water. Like my Balenciagas, I'll be able to use this a lot on rainy days.

I wasn't too impressed with this dress today so it's going into the donate pile. What do you think, would you have made any changes to today's outfit?

This is the first (and last!) wearing of the dress on the blog. The wedges have been worn before here, coat here, scarf here and bag here.

  8. Of course, I love black and/or dark coloured outfits so I'm ever-so-slightly biased. But...

I'm not sure why you're down on that dress. It looks really lovely - , it offers a great canvas for colourful accessories, like you did with the leopard print scarf, the scarf/belt, and jewelry.

And the way you paired it with the platforms and black tights/leggings really creates an impression of refined verticality.

I'd say keep the dress and have fun ornamenting it with pops and splashes of colour and patterns. :)

    1. Thanks Frederik! I've had it quite a while and rarely wear it - as fun as it is to dress up with scarves I think it's best to make more room in my wardrobe!

  11. I love the dress actually, I think a Maison Martin Margielastyle mirror belt would REALLY set everything off.
