What I wore:
Tee: thrifted navy stripe Coca-Cola logo tee
Skirt: thrifted Tree of Life ochre maxi skirtShoes: slim navy and pink Havaianas
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight
Nails: OPI Dutch tulips
Why I wore it:
I thrifted this tee two years ago for just $1 and I realised it was overdue another wear. Surprisingly I hadn't worn it with this ochre maxi skirt before. I do love stripes with this skirt, it's an obvious choice with the block colour skirt going with any print. I also couldn't resist a little matchy-matchy - the navy Havaianas and the navy Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag match the navy stripes on the tee well.I think I should try wearing this ochre maxi skirt with red again - the little pop of colour from my red nail polish and the red Coca-Cola logo on the tee was a nice subtle way to try the colour combination out.
Unfortunately my day didn't quite go as planned - as there was a (minor!) incident at the holiday care and I had to go rush to pickup my son early before trying to cram in more work before I left again to take my son to his appointment. At least my outfit was comfortable!
Last worn: Coca-Cola stripe tee, ochre maxi skirt, Havaianas, Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford.
Other ways to wear: Coca-Cola stripe tee and chambray skirt, ochre maxi skirt in winter, Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford and floral dress.
Necklace: Lovisa blue leaf long necklace
Tee: Cotton On The One Deep V tee in marle nep white body black
Skirt: thrifted Billabong 'Don't Think Of It' bikini red printed maxi skirt
Shoes: slim navy and pink Havaianas
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight

Why I wore it:
This day didn't quite go to plan either, but in a much more relaxing way! I had been sure that my son had an appointment to attend on this day as I'd written it down in my phone calendar. So we had our usual routine of getting up and getting the kids dropped off, trying to log onto work as early as possible to make up for leaving early for the appointment. During a gap in meetings I realised that I hadn't yet got an appointment reminder text... turned out I had not only the wrong day but the wrong time too, so there was no mad dash to finish work early to log off for the appointment. It made for a much less stressful afternoon!Again I went matchy-matchy with this outfit, with the navy leaf necklace and the navy Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag. Although the tee is more of a marle than a pure white, it's very subtle and you can't beat a classic red white and blue combo. This thrifted red maxi skirt will always be a favourite in the summer heat too. Well worth the $3 I paid at the opshop a few years ago, this is its 23rd wear!
Last worn: white marle tee, leaf necklace, red printed maxi skirt, Havaianas (above), Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag (above).
Other ways to wear: white marle tee and shorts, red printed maxi skirt and mustard knit, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag and jeans.

How You Can Wear It:
A classic white tee, even a printed one, is a summer staple! To help your outfit feel a little more pulled together than a standard shorts and tee combo, try it with a colourful maxi skirt instead!
I cannot believe you got that tee for $1! What a score! Have a great weekend Mica!

It was such a bargain find!
DeleteI'm sorry your days didn't go to plan but I love your outfits, especially that red maxi skirt, it's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLovely and comfortable outfits.
ReplyDeleteYou look so nice in both of your outfits Mica. I love that you got them thrifting. My daughter and her friends love going to thrift stores and she does online thrifting too. Have a nice weekend Mica.
ReplyDeleteI find online second hand shopping a bit painful once you factor in shipping, I much prefer browsing in person :)
DeleteLoved your outfit my dear! <3

Both look fabulous, but my favorite is outfit no. 2. And loving the bag! Such a beautiful shade of blue!
ReplyDeleteHope all is well over there. Dreaming of summer over here. We just had a big temperature drop which created instant ice on the roads and up to 40 mile/hour winds and blowing snow. It was only a few inches of snow but still created white out conditions on the roads. Glad we didn't have to drive out of town!!

Crazy it's so cold for you when it's so hot and humid here!
DeleteNo one pulls off a maxi skirt like you, Mica. I'm sorry those days didn't go as planned but look at you being resilient and being well dressed for them!

I love the Coca Cola t-shirt. I had a similar one that I inherited from my father and literally wore until it fell to pieces.
ReplyDeleteWhat a special piece to have had! :)
DeleteI miss thrifting!! Once I'm all vaccinated I may have to make that one of my first outings, haha....so many things I miss being able to do.
ReplyDeleteI almost had a similar appointment situation. I had told my husband to make his dentist appointment the same day as me and then when he was requesting the day off we realized he did the wrong day... *sigh* So I had to call and fix it. Luckily nothing got missed, haha!

Hope you are able to get the vaccine soon! :) The shops near me stays shut a little while after lockdown last year but I'm glad they are open again!
DeleteSometimes our days just have a way of not working out the way we planned but it's good that in the second case, it turned out to be way less stressful for you.
ReplyDelete
DeleteYes it's rare to have those days so close together, but at least the second one worked out better! :)
Great outfits. I like the first skirt and of course love your nails. Don't have that one haha! :-D
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's an OPI red, I forget the name though!
DeleteSuch great thrifting. Adoring these colors of the skirts. Lovely. (sorry if I pressed early on a the last moment the first time I tried to comment).
ReplyDeleteGreat post.
ReplyDeleteI wish you a wonderful weekend.
Great outfits :) thanks for your sharing...
ReplyDeleteLove that coca-cola shirt! It is so fun! And both skirts are fabulous. You always know how to put colours and patterns together with ease.
ReplyDeletethe creation of beauty is art.
Hooray for maxi skirts! These are both excellent! I like the subtle red pops in the first outfit (red shoes would also be good!), and I love the blues in the second. Your yellow mask is the perfect pop making that outfit all primary colours!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that the incident wasn't anything too major - I've gotten appointments mixed up too, and I always feel so silly about it.
FYI, I've added you to a "Link Party" list on the right sidebar of my blog, to ensure that I'm always reciprocally linking to you - I do appreciate your weekly link-ups, and I know they are a lot of work. So, thank you! :)
Have a fabulous weekend, Mica!
Thanks so much Sheila, I appreciate it! :)
DeleteBoth outfits are great. :) Have a nice weekend. :)

I love the combination of that maxi skirt with a coca cola t-shirt. The second maxi skirt and t-shirt combo is wonderful as well.
ReplyDeleteI love both outfits, especially the first one. Those maxi skirts have inspired me...I haven't worn one for quite a few years, so have updated my wish list!😉
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, you are a real inspiration!😊😊
I'm sorry your day didn't go to plan...it is rather annoying when those things happen, isn't it!🙄
Have a super weekend and stay safe, my friend!

I love a good maxi skirt - such a mum staple for me! :)
DeleteSuch cute skirts and I love the way you styled them.
ReplyDeleteI love that t-shirt with Coca-Cola sign. It look so beautiful. I hope so that you doing fine and enjoy in sunny weather.

Having to break up your work day for an appointment, and then work earlier or later to make up for it, is the worst. Zoom therapy is really working out in my favor! haha Glad to hear your son is okay! And you looked very fashionable for these crazy days! :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes I miss the days of online appointments, haha!
DeleteYour skirt collection is so perfect - loving both of these maxis!

Love the ensemble very chic.
ReplyDeleteWonderful outfits! I, too, prefer skirts or dresses in the summer. I think they are both much cooler than shorts.
ReplyDeleteHope your weekend is going well!

I'm sorry your day didn't go to plan (but the other one sounds a lot better). I love the colour of the first skirt, and totally agree that the small pops of red work really well with it. 23rd wear? I always admire how you keep track of things like that so thoroughly, it's food for thought! x

Thanks! I only know the number of wears as when I search for the last time I wore things on the blog it shows me the number of results, and I always get a photo of what I'm wearing each day to post! :)

Dearest Mica,
ReplyDeleteSo, you now have to wear a mask as well...?
Hope you and your little ones stay well.
Hugs,
Mariette
Oh we did when I took that pic back in January! We had a 3 day lockdown then we all had to wear masks indoors for a week or so afterwards. Back to mask free life now though! :)

DeleteI am really loving the blue with the red skirt. That ochre skirt is a great color too and I could see it with navy too (I can't tell if the stripe is navy or blue). Looking forward to wearing skirts again in a month or so!
ReplyDeletewww.chezmireillefashiontravelmom.com
It's navy but you're right the skirt looks great with both shades! :)
DeleteThank you so much Mica!! I'm so glad that you liked my new ins! Yes, the comfortable clothes are what I'm wearing most of the time, hehe, as since all the covid situation began, I'm working from home :P About the earrings, I've never been very fun of pearls but when I saw those in that not-rounded shape I loved them, hehe :) I also like your summer looks! As we're in cold winter here in Spain, I can't avoid looking forward to summer when seeing your pics, hehe :P Happy week! Kss

yes working mum life is so busy, haha! :)
DeleteYou styled your maxi skirts beautifully! I'm always impressed by the amazing deals you find on clothes. I think the best I've managed is $5 for a top.
