Blue Printed Kimonos, Grey Tees and Skinny Jeans

While autumn was so mild in Brisbane I took the chance to get in one last wear of my favourite kimonos before the winter weather arrived. And of course, they were both blue!

What I wore:

Away From Blue | Autumn Coffee date outfit navy printed kimono grey tee prima denim skinny jeans

AwayFromTheBlue | Rebecca Minkoff Love cross body bag in grey
TeeAtmos&Here grey v-neck tee with rolled sleeves (similar in black or white)
JeansJeanswest Bindi skinny 7/8 jeans in indigo luxe
ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs silver tuxedo flats (on sale!)
BagRebecca Minkoff Love cross body bag in grey (on sale!)

Why I wore it:

Felt all dressed up in this because I wore makeup for a change. I had the chance to catch up with fashion & beauty blogger Beth from Almost Posh while she was on holiday in Brisbane. I figured I should wear makeup to meet up with a makeup guru!

Nice simple outfit for coffee and cake, and we even had a little time to browse some of the stores. I picked up a cute tank in the Target sale before heading home.

Last worn: navy printed kimono, grey oversized tee, Jeanswest prima skinny jeans, silver ballet flats, Rebecca Minkoff Love bag.

Other ways to wearnavy printed kimono and a newborn, grey tee and denim shorts, Jeanswest prima skinny jeans and blush blazer, silver ballet flats and a wrap dress, Rebecca Minkoff Love bag and a maxi dress.

What I wore:

AwayFromBlue | Grey tee skinny jeans navy floral kimono neon pink bag SAHM style

AwayFromTheBlue | Rebecca Minkoff neon pink mini MAC floral kimono
SunniesRay-Ban new Wayfarers (30% off at Nordstrom!)
JacketCotton On 'Gemma' cocoon kimono in Laos blossom navy print
TeeJeanswest 'Lucy' colour block tee in grey marle/rosebud
JeansJeanswest Super Skinny Jeans in Mid Indigo
ShoesWalnut Melbourne 'Ava' black lizard ballet flats (also available in grey)
BagRebecca Minkoff neon pink mini MAC (new purchase, on sale!)

Why I wore it:

Wore this to go out shopping for a new washing machine, not very exciting. The old one had been playing up for a while and despite paying a few hundred dollars to have it "repaired" and some parts replaced, it finally gave up this month. A new one was urgently needed. With two boys under 2, there is a LOT of washing required! Since I liked the grey tee, denim and kimono combo above, I wore it again. Unlike the washing machine repair, I have definitely got my money's worth from this $3 kimono.

Wearing a new purchase too - this hot pink Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC. I'd been selling a few bags on ebay and of course when selling you have to browse the listings first and see what prices things are going for... Couldn't resist this bargain of a bag when I came across it. Really like the way the pink works with the floral print of the kimono.

Last worn: RayBan Wayfarers, floral cocoon kimono, grey teeskinny jeans, black ballet flats. First time I've worn the pink mini MAC as it's a recent purchase.

Other ways to wearfloral kimono at 39 weeks pregnant, grey tee and printed shortsskinny jeans and a striped henley, black ballet flats and a wrap dress

  4. I love your kimono collection Mica. Blue & grey are always so pretty together. Very soft. Love both of your outfits. I had to buy new washer machines last year! They're so fancy! HaHaHa I appreciate the upgrade. My water bill has been better because of the new machines also. >.<

  7. I love all of your cute kimonos and I'm thinking that I need to get a few so I can layer this summer without getting too hot. So frustrating about your washer... I'm praying mine holds on for a few more years!

  8. Oh, Mica, I'm swooning hard over that second look! Everything about the outfit is perfect, the bag matches perfectly with the florals in the kimono! I've tried to do some shopping on eBay and have had negative experiences with fakes, even though the reviews were descent for the seller. Do you have any tips on shopping and even selling on eBay, if you don't have a post on this already? I'd love to read some of your suggestions! I hope you're having a great day so far and thanks so much for sharing!

  16. Both of those kimonos are so pretty! They really elevate your outfits to something special. I agree - $3.00 is a great score on that! You could wear these over a turtleneck for winter? Just a thought - if a pink bag could work with 'em, what about a pink turtleneck??

    1. Thanks so much Sheila! I'm not such a fan or turtlenecks, but I have tried kimonos layered over long sleeve tees when it's been a little cooler...might need to try that again this winter!

  17. You are the queen of kimonos, always and forever, gorgeous Mica. I love both especially the second one. And hey your outfit formula of pairing them with a tee/tank, jeans, flats and a great designer bag works, especially with two very young children under two. You are one polished mom. I love both of your bags, especially the first dusty lavender one. I bet Beth loved your outfit. Gotta check out her blog too. And the other day I bought my very first floral kimono (first one I cannot believe it). Through the last couple of years you have inspired me so much with all the ones you own!

Sorry I have been a bad blogging friend but the last month especially I have worked a 'part-time' job with full-time hours, plus I tutor once (sometimes twice) a week and I am a mom to a toddler and a wife. I promise I will catch up more with you this weekend. But I did want to take my time to comment today, thank you for your awesome linkup and for linking with me on Thursdays too. You are one sweet friend! And yes I have to write this message to a few of my favorite bloggers because I have been slacking on commenting and stopping by lately. But you look great today, you usually do!
