Spring Dresses: Daytime and Evening Outfits

I've really been enjoying wearing dresses this Spring! I recently wore two dresses, for day and night looks. One I'm adding to the donate pile, and one that's definitely staying in my wardrobe!

Here's what I wore to take baby T for his vaccinations:
Spring Daytime Outfit Skater Dress LBD Converse Chucks Skull scarf
SunglassesRayban new Wayfarers
ScarfAlexander McQueen magenta skull scarf in roses print
Dress: Glassons black cotton skater dress
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black

This is only the fourth time I've worn this dress since I bought it over a year ago. I've been wanting to wear it for a while recently, but as I often do, when getting dressed I've passed up wearing a nice basic dress for something more interesting. It took me a while to get around to actually wearing it, and I wasn't really very comfortable wearing it, so it's time for it to leave my wardrobe.

This was an okay outfit for baby-wearing in theory, and the dress, skull scarf and Chucks combination is one I've worn a lot recently, but I just didn't really like the dress this time around. Looks perfectly okay in the photo, but I didn't feel that great in it.

Last worn: Ray-Ban wayfarer, Alexander McQueen skull scarf, Glassons skater dress, Converse.

Here's what I wore to go out into the city with my sister for the evening:
Coach Madison Sophia bag, Atmos&Here Willow Tee Dress Black Blazer
Jacket: thrifted Zara black blazer
Necklacevintage gold initial necklace
DressAtmos & Here Willow printed tee dress
ShoesAcne pistol boots in "skin"
Bracelets: the usual plus Disney Couture Winnie the Pooh bangle
Bag: Coach Madison Sophia satchel in black (borrowed!)

Wore this outfit for an evening out with my sister. We went out for dinner, some delicious gelato, and stopped by the Coach Fall 2014 event at Brisbane Wintergarden. I even had a cheeky glass of champagne!

As we were heading out to a Coach event I wasn't sure if I should be wearing something from Coach.....not sure what the rules are, I don't really get invited to many brand events! Luckily my sister has a couple of Coach bags so I took the chance to borrow hers for the evening. Was a really nice bag to carry actually. My sister has taken it around the world (literally!) and it still looks really good. Sadly, we didn't see anything in the new collection we wanted to buy, but it was fun to have a browse. The little paper bag I'm carrying behind the purse was just a gift bag.

Once again I wore this printed dress with ankle boots. I'm repeating it a lot lately, it's just such an easy piece to wear. Pretty much wearing it as soon as it's washed and ironed from the last time!

Last worn: Zara blazer, Atmos&Here tee dress, Acne Pistol boots. First time I've used the bag as it was borrowed from my sister.

  3. You look gorgeous both times but the second dress you wore for dinner with your sister is my favorite and also my favorite outfit of the two. Beautiful dress and pretty Fall Booties. Love the neutral butterscotch color they have, Mica. =)

  4. As much as I like that first dress, I agree with your decision. I tend to look over the most basic pieces in my closet too. If you have to FORCE yourself to wear something then you're not in love with it.

  6. it's a shame that the black skater dress isn't comfortable because it does look really cute in your photos! definitely a good move to get rid of anything you don't feel good in though. attending the coach event sounds like a lot of fun! by the way, thank you for the tips on my last post -- i never thought of wearing that shirt with a sleeveless dress. such a good idea!!

    1. It does look cute, but I didn't feel great in it. Funny how photos can make an outfit look so different from how you feel in it, haha! :)

  7. I wouldn't have known what to do at a brand event either. Sounds like fun! Every time you wear those tan Acne booties I love them even more.

  8. Although I like the top dress, it's a little more of an office-y shape and doesn't seem to gel with your style. I do like the scarf and sneaks with it.

Love the second dress, especially the lovely pattern. I never get the love for "brand" handbags, sorry!

    1. I do love your unique handbags! As long as you love it, doesn't matter what the brand is IMHO! :)
I did wear that dress to the office a couple times, but yeah definitely time for it to leave my wardrobe. Trying to be more ruthless! :)

So exciting with the Coach event! You looked just perfect for it and a little Coach really hit the mark I think.

  19. I just picked up my first Coach bag a few months ago and am wearing the heck out of it.
I like both looks, first you dressed down the black dress with the sneakers and then you managed to wear ankle boots with a dress and made it look great. i cannot do boots and dresses.
