Striped Tee Dresses With Snoods and Denim Jackets: Weekday Wear Link Up

For today's Weekday Wear Link Up, I'm sharing what I wore when I layered up some striped tee dresses with denim jackets and cosy printed snoods for winter, back in June.

What I wore:

Converse, navy white striped tee dress, denim jacket, jean mac bag | awayfromblue

white stripe tee dress with Rebecca Minkoff Jean MAC bag in fig | away from blue

Jacket: Jeanswest Kitty denim biker jacket
ScarfSeed Heritage Paisley print snood
Earrings: Kmart silver leaf drop chandelier earrings
Dress: thrifted Kmart white and navy long sleeve stripe tee dress
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
BagRebecca Minkoff Jean MAC bag in fig

Why I wore it:

I really liked this outfit, although I wish it had been worn on a better day! I love this navy and white striped midi dress with pink bags, I've worn it with a neon pink bag before, and I really liked this pink Rebecca Minkoff Jean MAC crossbody bag with it too. This paisley print snood is a firm favourite and print mixes with stripes well, and it's so very cosy.

Because this is a long sleeved dress, the denim jacket was just the right layer to wear on top to keep me warm. It was a milder day and I had a lot of running around to do as well so I didn't feel the cold much.

After the school run we had to take Cooper to the vet. We were able to pick him up later in the afternoon, after I'd picked up my son from school. Sadly, it wasn't good news that afternoon as the tests confirmed that he has heart problems. Luckily they think he will still live a long life but still not the all-clear we had been hoping for.

Last worn: silver earrings, moto denim jacket, paisley print snood, white midi stripe tee dress, blue Converse, Rebecca Minkoff Jean MAC crossbody bag.

Other ways to wearmoto denim jacket and maxi dress, paisley print snood with navy blouse, white midi stripe tee dress and skull scarf, blue Converse and shorts, Rebecca Minkoff Jean MAC crossbody bag and floral dress.

Perfect for pregnancy: paisley print snood in second trimester.

Why I wore it:

This was a much more fun day than the one above! Jess had invited me to a little Arbonne session she had with a friend - she sells Arbonne products so I thought I'd go along and see what it was all about. With the promise of trying out a 5 step skin routine and some makeup it was going to be a relaxing spa-like morning away from the kids! 😂 I didn't buy anything but still had a good time.

Kept my outfit simple following a similar formula as the one above: with a navy striped tee dress, white denim jacket this time, and ankle boots instead of Converse, as I felt they were a bit dressier. This pretty pastel print floral snood was a Christmas present from a friend and I'm so pleased I was able to give it a wear! Decided to go with my little emerald green Rebecca Minkoff mini 5 zip bag to compliment the greens in the scarf too. Really liked the different shades of green with this navy striped dress.

How You Can Wear It:

Long sleeved tee dresses like this are a great option when the weather starts to cool, and easy to layer up with a classic denim jacket. Adding a scarf or snood lets you add more colour and print to your outfit too, as well as a little extra warmth on a winter day.

Kmart Tiered Midi Dresses, Chloe Paraty Bag For Kids Birthday Parties

Easy weekend outfits for a fun weekend hosting birthday parties for my son! Kept it simple with my Kmart tiered midi dresses in bold colours, sneakers for all the running around, and my cute little periwinkle blue Chloe Paraty bag that works so well with both outfits despite the different colour schemes.

What I wore:

Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD, House of Harlow sunburst wrap bracelet in cobalt
BagChloe periwinkle small Paraty

Why I wore it:

My son had been asking if he could have a birthday party at this indoor play place for a while, so we decided to go for it. It meant two birthday parties - this day with his school friends running around playing and then another party the next day for family.

It was a very loud day but thankfully the play place provided us a party host, so when all the parents kept complimenting me on how well the day had gone and how smoothly everything had run I could just point to the wonderful staff who knew how to handle groups of overexcited screaming first graders much better than I!

With the bright amber dress there was no way the parents wouldn't be able to spot me as I moved around the play place, although I did add the white jacket to cover up my arms a little in case it was a cold day. The party area was upstairs and the play area downstairs so I'm glad I wore the Adidas Superstar sneakers as I had a lot of running up and down stairs during the day!

The blue necklace and wrap bracelet, although different shades from each other and the periwinkle blue Chloe Paraty bag, go so nicely with the amber midi dress. I liked how I could fit the camera in my Chloe Paraty too although I kept forgetting to take pics through the day - it just flew by so quickly! My son really enjoyed it.

Necklace: engraved interlinked silver circle family name necklace
Dress: Kmart short sleeve tiered jersey dress in Fuchsia
Shoes: Kmart sparkly silver glitter sneakers

Why I wore it:

After the hectic and extremely loud party the day before, this was much more relaxed. Instead of a room of loud first graders we invited some family around to celebrate at home. There was a small last minute panic when I realised I'd forgotten to get some fruit salad for the younger attendees and so a quick run to the shop was needed, but for the rest of the time it was a very laid back day.

I've worn a magenta pink dress with this purple cocoon cardigan for my son's birthday party in the past, I knew the purple cardigan would work with this pink dress too! I liked the silver necklace with it as well, even if the hardware on the Chloe Paraty bag is gold and I was wearing gold earrings. The necklace matched my fun glitter shoes well.

It was a lot warmer day than I anticipated - I ended up rolling up the sleeves of this cardigan for a bit and considering removing it entirely as we spent some time enjoying the sunshine and playing outside in the back garden.

Last worn: purple cocoon cardigan, heart earringscircle necklace, fuchsia Kmart tiered midi dress, silver glitter sneakers, Chloe small Paraty bag (above).

Other ways to wearpurple cocoon cardigan and shortsfuchsia Kmart tiered midi dress for dinner, silver glitter sneakers and shorts, Chloe small Paraty bag and blue sundress.

Perfect for pregnancypurple cocoon cardigan in second trimester.

How You Can Wear It:

You can easily layer up a short sleeved midi dress for a cooler day with a light jacket or cardigan. You can stick with a neutral denim jacket like in the first outfit, or go more colourful and cosy like I have in the second outfit with the purple cardigan.

What I Bought In June - Chloe Ethel Bag!

Short and sweet what I bought post this month! While I made it through April and May without making any fashion purchases, June ended up much like March - I stumbled across a handbag on eBay I'd been thinking about at a price I couldn't resist, so I made another impulse buy.

What I Bought In June:

I've you've followed my blog since the early days this bag may look a little familiar to you - I had a pink version of this bag in 2012/2013 that I often regretted selling! As mentioned in the video I'd been thinking about it lately and searching a few sites for it, looking at options when I got rewarded at work with a gift card a few weeks ago, that spurred me on to buy this!

You haven't seen this pop up on the blog or even my Instagram yet. I'd been trying to find a place that could fix up the weak point on the strap around the local area, so it wasn't being worn while I was taking the strap out to the cobblers. No luck with that sadly, as I talked through in the video, but at least I have a few places in mind to go to if the strap does snap, ha!

I'm really looking forward to wearing this. I have my "wear twice in the month you buy it" rule for all new purchase that this bag hasn't met, but given the colour I know it will work with a lot of things in my wardrobe. I did get it right at the start of June but between authenticating, cleaning it up, trying to find a cobbler, the rain and our little 3 day lockdown we had in Brisbane recently there hasn't been a chance to wear it before I drafted up this post.

In lieu of a how I wore it, these are the pics I texted to my bestie when I tried it on immediately after it arrived!

Now hopefully I can copy what I did in April and March and make it through July without buying any fashion items - for my sixth year of attempting No Buy July! While I'm not near the budget I set myself this year I am getting near the fashion spend I achieved last year and I'm curious to see if I can pull off such a low spend again this year!

I'm going to try the Slow Fashion Season #FashionDetox challenge too. Buying no new fashion from July to September. We will see how I go!
