When we were walking around the festival today one of my sandals snapped! I was extremely lucky though as we were standing right opposite a sewing stall. The ladies there were mending and altering some clothes and kindly let me borrow a needle and thread to repair my shoe. It was quite funny as I'm not a talented sewer at all, so my friend had to capture the moment.

We had a good laugh with the ladies, as I was the third person who had stopped by with a wardrobe emergency they had helped to fix, hehe. I think there should be more of these little repair stalls dotted around the place, it certainly came in very handy today. My shoes lasted for the rest of the day, but maybe won't last much longer which is a shame as I wear them a lot and they go with so much. Will need to look for a good replacement! Any suggestions?

My sister, friend and I went shopping today. I didn't want to spend too much so I thought if I took my envelope clutch I'd have my hands full and not want to carry too many shopping bags with me. Didn't really work, we ended up buying quite a lot in the outlets.... It was a fun day though, lots of laughs as you can see from the photo!

My friend and I went to the Brisbane Frock Up vintage fair today. It was really good having a look around all of the different stalls, although some of the items were out of our budget as we didn't have too much cash left after yesterday evening. Although I didn't buy everything I wanted I picked up a gift for my bestie and a really cute jacket for myself. Today I shopped the Reebonz Australia Brisbane sale in my lunch break with a few colleagues. It was a really good sale! There were so many people there and so many bags and accessories to choose from. I also had the chance to meet some of the lovely Reebonz staff. Even though the sale was busy they took the time to chat to me about the sale and bags in general, and they had some lovely input on the possible purchases I tried on. Everyone was so friendly.

Just wanted to be warm and comfortable for being back in the office today, as it was so cold and rainy. Wish I could have stayed in bed instead as I was still struggling to talk at some points today. It was good to have the big scarf to wrap around me at my desk.
Giant scarves and pashminas are amazing in winter, or when you're not feeling well! On reflection I probably should have taken it off for the photos so you could see the dress better...I'll remember for next time.

Today is a special day! If you've read my blog for a while or seen the image in my sidebar you'll know I support Oscar's Law. One year ago today, Debra legally rescued Oscar from a puppy farm. Today is Oscar's "gotcha" day, celebrating his first year of freedom. 

Before being rescued, Oscar was stuck in a cage in a puppy farm and used for breeding over and over. Now, he is able to run around on the grass, get love and attention from humans and get to play with other dogs. He can curl up in a blanket when it's cold and play with toys whenever he wants. He can be a dog. You can watch the video below to see how his life has changed. I recommend it, it's such a feel good video. Especially at the end.

Pet store puppies come from puppy mills. That cute little puppy in the window has parents stuck in cages. Don't buy animals from pet stores - buy from a reputable breeder or adopt. I want Oscar's Law so that every puppy farm dog can experience freedom and have the happy ending Oscar has.

DH, Cooper and I went to the jumble sale at the Animal Welfare League today. We really like being able to support the shelter that we adopted Cooper from, they make a difference in the lives of so many animals. :)

They had their jumble sale special on, fill a bag for $5. And they were big bags too! I don't usually have much luck op shopping (thrifting), but at the AWL op shop sales I always manage to find plenty. It was very easy to fill my bag and worth the very long trip after getting stuck in traffic.
I picked up a cute vintage dress and jumper from the Thrifty Kitten stall as well as my $5 bag of clothes.

I got all of the items below for just $12, very pleased!

I laid everything out to take a picture and Cooper thought I'd made a special bed for him to lie on, haha! He couldn't understand why I was laughing at him...

Really liked this casual jeans and a tee outfit today - didn't need anything fancy. I had my purple leopard print scarf on in the morning but took it off in the car as it wasn't needed. It was so warm and sunny today, really nice after the wet week. I was pleased with the bargains I got at the sale too, what do you think of my purchases?


I've worn the jeans before here and the mouse flats here. This is the first time I've worn the tee and bag.

Those of you who follow me on instagram or twitter would have already read, but we had to rush Cooper to the emergency vets last night. Luckily he is okay now, the vets were lovely and really helpful. 
The vet warned us that he would be sedated after the injections and probably feel sick, but apart from a short nap in the car home he spent the remainder of the night running around like a crazy dog. It was very funny to watch him running around and being so hyperactive after being so worried about him. Very good to see him back to normal so soon too.


I wouldn't normally have paired all this colour and print together, but after last night's stress worrying over Cooper I just threw on some of my favourite pieces I think it works okay. Would you have worn anything differently?
