Weekday Wear Linkup! Navy Blouses and Colourful Pants Business Casual For Spring

I love a good outfit formula, so for today's Weekday Wear Linkup I'm sharing two very similar outfits I recently worn to work with colourful pants and classic navy blouses and my slouchy Balenciaga Part Time bag.

What I wore:

Target Preview navy long sleeve collared shirt with burgundy pants statement necklace for the office | awayfromblue

Balenciaga part time in black 2010 with SGH | awayfromtheblue

awayfromtheblue Instagram | burgundy skinny pants with Target navy collared blouse with balenciaga part time bag
Necklace: thrifted statement gunmetal hardware necklace (new purchase)
Blouse: Target Preview navy long sleeve collared shirt (new purchase)
PantsJeanswest 'Fiona' skinny leg pant in shiraz
ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs silver tuxedo flats
BagBalenciaga part time in black 2010 with SGH

Why I wore it:

First wearing of this new navy blouse I picked up in the Target clearance sales! In the last days of the sales things are often reduced to $5, so when I needed a break from the office one lunch time I headed to target in the city to browse the sale. I got this great blouse reduced from $39 to $20 and then the extra 50% off made it $10, not a bad deal! I tried on a few other things but this was the only one that worked. The statement necklace was another new purchase and impulse buy, just $3 from the opshop! September was a month of impulse buying for me.

It's not the first time I've worn these burgundy pants with navy tops, it is a frequent go-to combo! I kept the rest of the accessories simple, with the silver ballet flats, black Balenciaga Part Time bag and metallic necklace, to let the colours be the star of the outfit.

The only thing I did notice with this blouse is that the collar on the back pulls it down quite a bit with the extra weight - as it's a flowy swing style it's not fitted enough to stay in place. I'll need to try tuck it in next time I wear it! It was nice and comfortable for work, and I like the cute piping detail along the sides of the sleeves, even if I did forget to get a good pic of it as I was so busy giving our little doggy guest some pats! She's squeezing in all the pats she can while being dog sat by us before she returns to her family.

Last worn: burgundy pants, silver ballet flats, Balenciaga Part Time bag. First time I've worn the navy blouse and statement necklace as they are both recent purchases.

Other ways to wearburgundy pants for work and weekend, silver ballet flats and pencil skirt, Balenciaga Part Time bag and little black dress.

Perfect for pregnancyburgundy pants in second trimester, silver ballet flats in third trimester, Balenciaga Part Time bag in second trimester.

30 Ways To Wear: Balenciaga Part Time

What I wore:

BlouseJeanswest chana long sleeve stud top in night sky navy
JeansJeanswest Vicki skinny pant in moss green
ShoesWalnut Melbourne 'Ava' black lizard ballet flats
BagBalenciaga part time in black 2010 with SGH

Why I wore it:

Unlike the first navy blouse, this one is an oldie. I picked it up on sale last year and it's been the best addition to my wardrobe. I like the studded detail for a little extra interest, and the tie at the neckline means that I didn't need to add a necklace with this. I did add my teal earrings though for a little extra colour. With the navy blouse, olive pants and teal earrings I kept the accessories simple again, going with my fave black ballet flats and my Balenciaga Part Time bag.

Just like the outfit above, these olive pants have been worn with navy before, even though it's surprisingly the first time I've worn this blouse and jeans together before. Got to love a business casual environment where people can wear jeans through the week - these olive ones look deceptively like standard pants but have all the comfort of jeans! They are so good at doing double duty for work and SAHM days.

My nails are OPI a good man-darin is hard to find, just like in the outfit above. I felt like getting this bright colour out again for spring.

Space Dye Tees With Bright Scarves and Colourful Skinny Jeans

Adding colour to two neutral space dye tees with scarves and different shades of denim.

I recently thrifted these two space dye tees, bringing my collection up to 3 space dye tops, all thrifted! Maybe space dye was a trend a while back and now everyone is over it? I am really loving it though, it's a nice twist on an otherwise basic tee. Both of these tees were pieces in my "fill a bag for $5" opshop sale haul.

What I wore:

double denim matching red skull scarf and skinny jeans with cream space dye tee balenciaga part time | awayfromblue

red skinny jeans, Balenciaga part time in black 2010 with SGH | awayfromtheblue

Tee: thrifted Kmart space dye cream and black longline top (new purchase)
Jeans: thrifted Emerson red skinny jeans
ShoesWalnut Melbourne 'Ava' black lizard ballet flats
BagBalenciaga part time in black 2010 with SGH

Why I wore it:

Was thrilled to get this tee new with tags in the opshop! It's just a Kmart one and the original price sticker wasn't very high but it's good to be able to give new life to a piece someone kindly donated rather than throwing away.

The black dye running through this white tee makes me a little more confident wearing it. I'm a bit clumsy so white is not my usual go to colour, but the different colours in this make it easier to wear and hopefully will make anything I do spill on it less noticeable 😂

Went matchy-matchy with this, wearing my red Alexander McQueen skull scarf and skinny jeans together. The red jeans were also a thrift find! The blue denim jacket was a nice way to wear double denim but I ended up taking it and the scarf off and on through the day as it heated up.

A busy day of getting things done as I was kid free! Tax return done, more Christmas shopping done and after running a few more errands I treated myself to a massage!

Last worn: denim biker jacket, red skinny jeans, red skull scarf, black Ballet flats, Balenciaga part time bag.  First time I've worn the tee as it was a recent purchase.

Other ways to weardenim biker jacket and tee dress, red skinny jeans and kimono, red skull scarf with monochrome outfit, black Ballet flats and wrap dress, Balenciaga part time bag worn 30 ways.

Balenciaga Vs Rebecca Minkoff:

JeansJeanswest Vicki skinny pant in moss green
ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs metallic mouse flats
BagRebecca Minkoff emerald green mini 5-zip rocker bag

Why I wore it:

Wearing more new (and new to me!) things for a busy day. We had a playdate in the park after swimming lessons, and another Lion King toy swap day, and our new fluffy family member was being dropped off before I went out for the night with some Instagrammers. It was busy but manageable until... just as we were leaving the park my son poked himself in the eye with a stick.

Added a trip to emergency to our crazy day, but thankfully the scratches were minor and we were seen pretty quickly and on our way home again to get things ready for our fluffy guest.

I like mustard and olive together so this newly purchased scarf was an obvious choice when I wanted to add a little more colour to the neutral olive jeans and peplum tee outfit. I think it worked nicely with the emerald green of the bag too! The green Rebecca Minkoff mini 5 zip bag is another new purchase too!

Despite the hectic day, I liked this comfortable outfit and this tee has become a firm favourite! Such a great opshop find. I had a quick change into something more suitable for drinks and a night out - after the hectic day I was looking forward to just relaxing, and changing out of this dirt and tear stained outfit after the stick incident!

Last worn: olive skinny jeans, gold mouse flats, Rebecca Minkoff mini 5 zip bag. First time I've worn the scarf and tee on the blog as they are recent purchases.

Adding Colour To Neutral Knits With Skinny Jeans & Balenciaga Bags

The simple outfit formulas are ones I keep coming back to! Cosy neutral knits, skinny jeans and Balenciaga bags with a touch of colour make an easy outfit for a mum. While I wore these back in winter last month they would work on a cold spring day too!

What I wore:

ombre knit with green skinny jeans black balenciaga part time bag SAHM style winter | awayfromblue

Balenciaga part time in black 2010 with SGH | awayfromtheblue

JumperJeanswest 'Serena' ombre knit
Jeans: thrifted ASOS petite green skinny jeans
ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs logo plaque flats in camel
BagBalenciaga part time in black 2010 with SGH

Why I wore it:

A busy but fun filled day! Had to take my son to an appointment before Kindy and then drop him off at Kindy a little later. It was a stressful morning trying to fit everything in but I had the whole afternoon to myself before Kindy pickup. I headed to the opshop to drop off three boxes of things we no longer wanted, and had a little browse of the clothes as they had a fill a bag for $5 sale on.

I certainly made the most of being kid free, trying on a basket and arm full of clothes and filling up a bag for the boys and a bag for myself - 19 pieces all together! Not bad for $10! Made some time to film some videos before going to pickup the kids too.

I like wearing this ombre knit with my colourful denim collection, I think the neutral colours work well with brights and it's the first time I've worn these green jeans and knit together. I really liked the combination.

I added the black Balenciaga part time bag as it fit everything I needed for the appointment, but I did wonder if I should have worn black ballet flats instead of these tan ones with the black bag. Still liked my outfit though!

Last worn: ombre knit, coin pendant necklace, green skinny jeans, camel flats, Balenciaga black part time bag.

Other ways to wearombre knit with leopard print, green skinny jeans with navy, camel flats and wrap dress, Balenciaga black part time bag worn 30 ways.

Perfect for pregnancyombre knit at 40 weeks, camel flats in third trimester, Balenciaga black part time bag in second trimester.

Why I wore it:

Wearing a similar outfit again, cosy knit and skinny jeans but this time I stuck with a classic black pair of jeans and added the colour through my accessories. This pink Fashion Scarf Girl crinkle scarf, while a different shade from the Balenciaga city bag, makes such a nice combination worn together. I've worn the scarf and bag together before here too!

This was a nice simple and colourful outfit for church. I like how the foil polkas dots on the grey knit are subtle enough that I can wear it with anything!

Weekday Wear Linkup: Textured Pencil Skirts In The Office With Brighter Scarves

For today's Weekday Wear Linkup I'm wearing two different textured pencil skirts to the office. I love wearing pencil skirts to work, even in winter, and these textured ones add a nice bit of interest. With the black in them, they work so nicely with my fleece-lined tights too!

What I wore:

JacketJeanswest Monica Mac coat in Indigo
ScarfMarc by Marc Jacobs bright blue stole
TopJeanswest 'Aubrey' pintuck yoke henley in deep teal
SkirtWarehouse navy jacquard pencil skirt
ShoesWalnut Melbourne 'Ava' black lizard ballet flats
BagBalenciaga part time in black 2010 with SGH

Why I wore it:

I really like blue and green together, so I thought this teal henley would go nicely with the navy jacquard pencil skirt. Surprisingly, despite them both being old pieces in my wardrobe, I've never worn both of them together before! I thought I'd definitely worn the cobalt scarf with the teal top at least, but nope that was a new pairing too!

With the navy skirt and blue scarf, I thought my navy mac was a good outerwear choice. It helped the teal henley stand out more too I think! The black Balenciaga part time bag is such an easy accessory, it goes with everything.

Last worn: navy mac coat, cobalt scarf, teal henley, jacquard pencil skirt, black ballet flats, Balenciaga Part Time bag.

Other ways to wearnavy mac coat and colourful pants, cobalt scarf and grey dress, teal henley and a-line skirt, jacquard pencil skirt and purple tee, black ballet flats and jeans, Balenciaga Part Time bag and shorts.

Perfect for pregnancyteal henley in second trimester, jacquard pencil skirt in first trimester, black ballet flats in third trimester, Balenciaga Part Time bag in second trimester.

30 Ways To Wear: Balenciaga Part Time Bag

What I wore:

Jacket: Barkins beige trench coat
Earrings: Ana Luisa 'Olivia' tassel earrings in pink

BlouseJeanswest 'Tilda' black shirt
Skirt: Cotton On 'Mica' mesh spot skirt in dusty pink
ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs silver tuxedo flats
BagBalenciaga part time in black 2010 with SGH

Why I wore it:

Another textured pencil skirt, this one again an old wardrobe favourite. Unlike the outfit combination above though, this black henley blouse is frequently worn with the pastel pink textured pencil skirt. It's a simple choice as it matches the black polka dots on the scarf nicely. The camel trench coat is another frequently worn piece with the skirt, as is the black Balenciaga part time bag.

For something a little different I picked this magenta skull scarf to really pop against the black and add a little bit of colour. Much bolder than the pastel pink of the pencil skirt, but I thought it complimented it perfectly.

Last worn: camel trench, gold tassel earrings, skull scarf, black henley, polka dot pencil skirt, silver ballet flats, Balenciaga Part Time bag (above).

Other ways to wearcamel trench and floral dress, skull scarf and little black dress, black henley and a-line skirt, polka dot pencil skirt with pearls, silver ballet flats and jeans, Balenciaga Part Time bag worn 30 ways.

Textured Pencil Skirts Under $50:

How You Can Wear It:

A textured pencil skirt is a fun addition to your work wardrobe, and just as wearable as a plain black option. You can go very colourful and pair the skirt with a brighter top and scarf, or keep it simple with a plain black blouse.

Printed Scarves With Tees, Skinny Jeans And Balenciaga Part Time Bag

Since it was a milder autumn day when I wore these outfits, I added some printed scarves to my casual jeans and tee outfits, no extra layers needed. A scarf is a nice way to add a little more interest to an outfit.

What I wore:

navy geometric print scarf with burgundy slouchy tee grey skinny jeans | awayfromblue

Balenciaga black part time bag in crook of arm | away from the blue

awayfromblue Instagram | navy printed scarf, burgundy tee grey skinny jeans mum style

TeeAtmos&Here rolled sleeve oversized tee in wine (similar in black)
JeansJeanswest Cecile dove grey skinny jeans
Shoesblack slim Havaianas thongs
BagBalenciaga part time in black 2010 with SGH

Why I wore it:

Jeans and a tee, a SAHM staple for a day with the kids! We had a few errands to run and spent some time at the library and playgroup. A really relaxed day.

The outfit felt a little plain though so I added the navy printed scarf for a subtle extra colour, and it was a nice layer for autumn. Even if I ended up taking it off in the middle of the day!

Picked my Balenciaga part time bag to wear as I've been feeling I've been passing over them a lot lately in favour of smaller bags. I liked the size of this one as it easily handled everyone's water bottles, a change of clothes for the boys in case of accidents and some baby wipes.

Last worn: navy mixed print scarf, burgundy slouchy tee, grey skinny jeans, Havaianas, Balenciaga part time bag.

Other ways to wearnavy mixed print scarf and shorts, burgundy slouchy tee and maxi skirt, grey skinny jeans and navy blouse, Balenciaga part time bag and printed dress.

Perfect for pregnancyburgundy slouchy tee in second trimester, Balenciaga part time bag in second trimester.

Shoesblack slim Havaianas thongs

Why I wore it:

I absolutely loved this outfit! I feel it looks a bit off in the photos because I decided to leave the tee untucked over the jeans when I'd normally tuck it in. These nobody denim skinny jeans are quite high waisted so I thought leaving the coral tee untucked was better.

This pretty striped scarf was a Christmas gift from my mum and I was excited to wear it. I wasn't sure how the blush in the print would work with the coral tee but I really liked the combination.

After a few stressful weeks, I had a fun day out shopping with my mum and the boys, getting a few more last minute must-haves off our list for our upcoming trip.

Last worn: coral v-neck tee, black skinny jeans, Havaianas (above), Balenciaga black part time bag (above). First time I've worn the scarf as it was a gift.

Perfect for pregnancy: Balenciaga black part time bag in second trimester.

Printed Scarves Under $50:

How You Can Wear It:

Printed scarves are the perfect way to add a little extra touch to an outfit. Jeans and a tee is a mum staple, and if you pick plain block colour jeans or a tee then you don't need to worry about the print on the scarf clashing with anything. Such a simple way to accessorise in autumn.

Weekday Wear Linkup! Sleeveless Tanks And Colourful Pants: Business Casual Autumn Style

The best thing about autumn weather finally arriving in Brisbane is the ability to unpack some things from their storage boxes in the wardrobe! Jeans! Scarves! It's nice to have them out again after them being hidden away during the heatwaves.

Colourful pants add a bit of fun to a business casual outfit for the office. And even though one of these pairs is jeans rather than pants, they easily pass as pants in the office (and if they didn't would fit right in to everyone else in my office wearing blue jeans)!

What I wore:

ShoesWalnut Melbourne 'Ava' black lizard ballet flats (also available in silver)
BagBalenciaga part time in black 2010 with SGH

Why I wore it:

Totally stealing my boss's style here! This kind of outfit; skinny jeans, a nice top and a blazer, is one she wears frequently in the office in cooler weather. I love pairing neutral pieces with these olive pants so black was an easy choice, and this brown printed tank is an easy neutral to wear. I did feel the outfit was a little flat though so I wanted to add a necklace - decided to step out of my comfort zone a little more and try green with green again. I thought the darker green in this necklace worked well with the olive jeans.

Yes, these are the same jeans I wore last week! I've been thrilled to get them out again with the cooler weather.

Other ways to wearblack jersey blazer and jeans, printed button detail tank and purple jeans, olive jeans and printed scarf, black ballet flats and a-line skirts, Balenciaga Part Time bag and denim shorts.

Why I wore it:

It's not the first time I've worn this tank with burgundy, I layered it up with a burgundy scarf for winter before. I really like the way to pastels in the print work with the burgundy pants. I decided to try something a little different and add this pretty pastel shimmer scarf on top too. it matches the pretty but impossible to see on photos peach pastel leaf print in the tank. I really liked the scarf and tank together. I don't usually wear so many pastels but I thought it really worked here.

I just picked a grey blazer to throw on and cover my shoulders in the office.

Got quite a few compliments on this outfit too. Mainly on the scarf, a pretty gift from my mum.
