Balenciaga Pink Sorbet City Bag, Jersey Blazer and Jeans

I enjoyed carrying my magenta Balenciaga day bag recently, so thought I'd pull out another pink bag, my sorbet Balenciaga city. With spring-like warmer weather, I decided to wear a blazer rather than the cardigans I've been favouring over winter.

I tracked this cream Zara blazer down on ebay. It's soft jersey material and I have it in black too. I really like this cream colour as it's a great neutral and goes with everything. The soft fabric makes me happy wearing it outside of the office.

What I wore:

SunniesRay-Ban new Wayfarers
Jacket: Zara cream jersey blazer
Scarf: navy bird print scarf
TankMEV Britney bubble tank in mood indigo C/O Zibibo
JeansJeanswest Super Skinny Jeans in Mid Indigo
ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs metallic mouse flats (on sale in black or silver!)
BagBalenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet

Why I wore it:

Wore this for a lunchtime catch up with a friend from out of state. She was in Brisbane for a couple days for work and managed to squeeze a little bit of spare time to meet up. It was so lovely to see her. The weather was not quite so lovely! It looked like an okay day and as it was supposed to rain a little I brought umbrellas just in case. After we made the decision to head off it started pouring! Luckily the stroller has a waterproof cover, but I realised on the way home that I had left the spare battery pack for my phone in the now waterlogged baby bag!

This pink Balenciaga looks pretty bad when it gets wet but (as I reassured my friend) it dries fine and it handles the rain well. The sun does more damage to it through fading the colour than any rain, especially since I've waterproofed this bag like all my handbags. It wouldn't be my first choice to wear for a stormy day, but at least I don't have to worry about it developing watermarks if I do get caught in the rain with it.

Last worn: cream blazer, bird print scarf, navy breastfeeding tank, skinny jeans, gold mouse flats, Balenciaga sorbet city.

Other ways to wearcream blazer in the office, bird print scarf and striped skirt, navy breastfeeding tank and a maxi skirt, skinny jeans and a trench coat, gold mouse flats and a maxi dress, Balenciaga sorbet city and denim shorts.

What I wore:

Jacket: Zara cream jersey blazer
TopAtmos&Here Nile wrap front jersey tee
Jeans: Portmans pink leopard print skinny jeans
ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs silver tuxedo flats (on sale!)
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch C/O JORD
BagBalenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet

Why I wore it:

I enjoyed wearing the jersey blazer so got it out again when I was trying to think what jacket would go nicely with the pink and grey outfit I'd put together. I did try a denim jacket with this, but it seemed to hit at an odd point on this top, I much preferred this blazer. Ran some errands, took toddler T for a haircut so he'd look nice for his brother's upcoming dedication ceremony and had dinner with the inlaws.

It's the second time I've worn this new top, so my purchase review:

I like it! It really is perfect for breastfeeding, and the fabric is softer (and a little cosier) than the navy one I have in the same style. The wrap top is kept together with a snap closure so I just need to unsnap it to breastfeed, really handy even though it's not actually a breastfeeding top. I'm pleased I bought this and see it easily getting more wear.

Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarers, cream blazer (above), grey wrap top, pink leopard print jeans, silver ballet flats, Balenciaga sorbet city (above).

Other ways to wearcream blazer and burgundy pants, grey wrap top with black and tan, pink leopard print jeans and ankle boots, silver ballet flats and blue jeans, Balenciaga sorbet city and a wrap dress.

Ways to Wear JORD Wood Watches and a Giveaway

If you've read my blog for a while you might remember last year when I was given my first JORD wood watch. It became a firm favourite to wear to the office as glancing at your watch in a long meeting is a lot politer than pulling out your phone to check the time!

AwayFromTheBlue JORD wood watch fieldcrest unisex worn 4 ways Bal and LV Bags

JORD kindly gifted me another beautiful watch. I was excited to start wearing a watch again, hoping it would help keep me on time for things. Really it's just become another way for me to see how late we are running! Typical of life with two under 3 I think. As well as a review, I wanted to show you some of the different ways I've worn the women's wood watches I'm lucky enough to own.

JORD wood watch Cora and Fieldcrest side by side comparison | AwayFromBlue

I picked the Cora watch as it's a little more dainty than the unisex Fieldcrest watch I have. I was also really intrigued by the purpleheart wood, which looks lovely with the mother of pearl face. As well as the little cut-out detail on the face to see the inner workings of the watch, the back of the face is clear so you can see all the cogs moving around inside which is fascinating - especially to a toddler!

Being a wood watch, it's splash-proof but not waterproof. It means I can wear it through all the constant hand washing that comes along with two boys still in nappies, although I do have to take it off when washing the dishes or showering. It handles stay at home mum duties perfectly. My Fieldcrest watch has held up to a year and a half of use and over 30 wears. It's also been tough enough to cope with being pulled off the bedside table and worn by the toddler more times than I can count, so I'm confident this Cora watch will last as well.

The ordering process was a little different this time around than last time. When you pick your wood watch, you can specify the size of your wrist and get it custom sized for you right out of the box. I used this feature, it's cheaper than getting the band changed at my local watch repair place and it fits perfectly. Being petite with tiny wrists and not always being able to find things to fit me properly, I appreciated this extra service.

JORD Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl women's wood watch silver bracelet stack | AwayFromTheBlue

The only downside I can find with this watch is that it's an automatic one, so it doesn't use a battery. This means if you get over excited and don't read the manual (guilty!) you won't wind the watch enough when you first set the time and you'll be confused the next day when it stops ticking. Once you read the manual and follow the instructions to properly setup the watch, you won't have any problems and the watch will keep the right time.

Just like my first experience with JORD watches, I was impressed with the speedy shipping time from the US to Australia and the absolutely beautiful presentation. I shared my delight at opening the box on my insta story. These wood watches make great gifts! They are so unique.

Office Wear at 37 Weeks Pregnant: Printed Wrap Dresses and Sorbet Pink Balenciaga City Bag

My last corporate style post during my pregnancy! Here's what I wore for the last two days at work before maternity leave. While baby has arrived, I was so behind with blogging I've got a few more pregnancy outfits scheduled to share still. Means I can relax and enjoy newborn cuddles as the scheduled posts go live.

For those who asked on my previous office wear post, in Australia we are entitled to a year's maternity leave, with the ability to extend that to 2 years. The government will pay minimum wage for 18 weeks and most employers also offer a paid parental leave period in addition to this, so some of the first year can be paid. Hubby even gets paid parental leave for 2 weeks to help with the crazy newborn days which will come in very helpful. I'm very aware that I'm lucky to live in Australia and have the benefits we do.

What I wore:

AwayFromBlue | 37 weeks pregnant easy office wear outfit printed wrap dress pink accessories

AwayFromTheBlue | Hermes pale pink clic clac bracelet tiffany silver stack Balenciaga sorbet city bag
NecklaceTai gold alphabet necklace layered with Tiffany diamonds by the yard necklace
Dress: thrifted Target printed wrap dress (with Supre pink singlet underneath for modesty)
Shoes:  Marc by Marc Jacobs two tone flats in blush and black
Bracelets: the usual plus Hermes pink clic clac
BagBalenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet

Why I wore it:

Fourth and final wear for this dress! Not bad for a $1 opshop (thrift store) bargain! I bought it just to give me another office option during pregnancy. Only being worn 4 times I probably didn't need it as much as I thought I did, but when you hit that panicked stage in the second trimester worrying that you have nothing to wear you can go a little crazy shopping...at least it was only a dollar. It will be donated back to the store now, it served me well!

The only thing I didn't like about this outfit were the shoes - at 37 weeks with the crazy humidity it was really painful squeezing my feet into these all day!

Last worn: pink singletprinted wrap dress, cap toe flats, Balenciaga sorbet city bag.

Other ways to wear: pink singlet and a floral dressprinted wrap dress in the second trimester, cap toe flats and skinny jeans, pink Balenciaga city bag and a chambray dress.

What I wore:

Away From Blue | Soon Maternity Madeline Printed Wrap Dress pink singlet sorbet Balenciaga city bag 37 weeks office outfit

AwayFromTheBlue | Balenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet
Necklace: Eye Candy LA gold and turquoise cuff necklace
Dress: Soon Maternity 'Madeline' grey print wrap dress (with Supre bright pink singlet underneath)
ShoesAsos 'five star' leather sandals
Bracelets: the usual plus Roie Designs black leather Swarovski beaded wrap bracelet
BagBalenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet

Why I wore it:

I saved my favourite office wear for my last day, this beautiful maternity wrap dress worked so well through two pregnancies for me. One of those pieces I'm so glad I invested in. Even though I got it second hand, it was a bit pricey and the most expensive maternity piece I bought. Worth it though as it's always made me look and feel good.

I did break the office guidelines just a little and wore open toed sandals on my last day - but there was no way I was squashing my feet into shoes for another 8 hours! These were much more comfortable, even if I did have to have them as loose as they could go. The swelling has been much worse with this pregnancy, probably because of the high humidity.

Last worn: pink singlet, Soon Maternity wrap dress, Asos leather sandals, Balenciaga sorbet city (above).

Summer Striped Tanks, Maternity Denim Shorts Outfits With Bright Bags

For the Fox In Flats DAREcember style challenge, there was a challenge I'd been really looking forward to and one I wasn't sure I'd be able to achieve. Luckily I was able to find something in my wardrobe to wear for both, and they both turned out to involve striped tanks!

What I wore:

Away From Blue | Print Mixing Somedays Lovin Kimono stripe tank maternity shorts second trimester summer

AwayFromTheBlue | Balenciaga sorbet pink regular classic city bag 2010 split tassels
Necklace: Lovisa silver love knitted heart pendant necklace
TankGlassons striped tank in silver marle and white
ShortsJeanswest Georgie maternity boyfriend shorts (available in non-maternity also)
Shoesblack slim Havaianas thongs
Bracelets: the usual plus JORD black Fieldcrest wood watch (C/O)
BagBalenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet

Why I wore it:

The style challenge for the day was 'print mixing' which I was really looking forward to as I knew I'd wear this tank and kimono together. I'd certainly not say I was an expert at print mixing, I've had a few fails, but I follow the 'formula' of making one of the patterns stripes and it usually winds up looking okay.

I absolutely loved this outfit. I wore it out to a play date with toddler T and I wouldn't change a thing about it.

As it's the second time I've worn this kimono since I purchased it, and I'm reviewing everything I buy to make sure everything will be a workhorse in my wardrobe, my purchase review:

I adore this kimono. I wasn't too sure about the print when I bought it, it looked nice but I wasn't sure if it would be very wearable. I bought it anyway, with another kimono, planning to return the one I liked the least. But when I tried this on at home with went with so many things and I have adored it every time I've worn it. A purchase I'm very glad I made, I'd been wanting more kimonos to wear over summer and this fits the need nicely.

Last worn: Somedays Lovin' Yakuza print kimono, striped tank, Jeanswest maternity shorts, Havaianas, Balenciaga sorbet city bag.

Other ways to wearSomedays Lovin' kimono and a yellow tank, striped tank and skinny jeans without a baby bump, denim shorts and Converse, Balenciaga sorbet city bag in the office.

ShortsJeanswest maternity rolled up shorts
Shoesblack slim Havaianas thongs
Bracelets: the usual plus Roie Designs waxed leather cream howlite beaded wrap bracelet
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAC in aquamarine with python embossed leather

Why I wore it:

Wore this to take toddler T to his last gymboree session for the year. The style challenge was 'safari' which I wasn't sure I would be able to find anything to wear for, but then I remembered this little worn tank. It's a trapeze cut so it fit the growing bump nicely, and with the khaki stripes and the tribal themed necklace I think I met the safari challenge quite well. Simple and comfortable outfit for running around with a toddler too.

Corporate Style: Wrap Dresses For Pregnancy Office Wear, Balenciaga Sorbet Pink City Bag

Now that the Christmas and New Year's holidays are over, I'm back to sharing my office style. Even though I wore both of these outfits before Christmas! Have been so behind with blogging, although I was dressing for the Fox in Flats DAREcember style challenge each day.

What I wore:

Away From Blue | Second Trimester Office Wear Printed Target wrap dress pink Balenciaga bag

AwayFromTheBlue | Balenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet Hermes pink clic clac
Necklace: custom Cooper charm by Silhoupette
Dress: thrifted Target printed wrap dress (with Supre pink singlet underneath for modesty)
ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs two tone flats in blush and black
Bracelets: the usual plus Hermes pink clic clac
BagBalenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet

Why I wore it:

The style challenge for the day was 'she's a lady' so I figured a lady-like wrap dress with pink accessories was a great way to dress for the theme and still be office-appropriate. You can never go wrong with a wrap dress, and for only $1 this was an op-shop bargain I couldn't pass up!

Last worn: pink singlet, printed wrap dress, two-tone flats, Balenciaga sorbet city bag.

Other ways to wearpink singlet and a floral dress, printed wrap dress and purple singlet, two-tone flats and a plaid pencil skirt, Balenciaga sorbet city bag and a chambray dress.

ShoesWalnut Melbourne 'Ava' black lizard ballet flats (also available in silver)
Bracelets: the usual plus JORD black Fieldcrest wood watch (C/O)
BagBalenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet

Why I wore it:

The style challenge for the next day was 'neck party' which I decided to do by layering some of my more delicate necklaces. This was before I got the awesome statement necklace from my bestie for Christmas, or that would have been perfect to wear.

Loved carrying my Balenciaga city bag the day before, so wore it again. I like the colour combination of pink and black. I've worn the bag and dress together before too, when I was in the third trimester with baby T.

Summer Kimonos and Denim: Jeanswest Georgie Maternity Boyfriend Shorts

In spring I realised that a tank and shorts would probably be my go-to outfit combo for coping with the summer heat during pregnancy, and kimonos seemed like a nice piece to add on top for a little more interest. I'd been hunting for some nice ones for a few months. There are a lot of polyester ones around but I needed something more breathable for the heat. I managed to score the two I'm wearing below in the Asos sale, already reduced with an extra 20% off so I'm pretty happy. Ended up wearing them both with the same pair of shorts for their first wears.

What I wore:

Away From Blue | Bright and Colourful Second Trimester summer maternity pregnancy outfit singlet shorts kimono

Away From Blue | Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC with python embossed leather in aquamarine
NecklaceAustralian coin and crest necklace layered with Roie Designs feather, quartz and love charm long necklace
Singlet: thrifted Cotton On yellow tank
ShortsJeanswest Georgie maternity boyfriend shorts (available in non-maternity also)
Shoes: Wittner 'Jasmarie' studded sandals
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAC in aquamarine with python embossed leather

Why I wore it:

I loved everything about this outfit! The style challenge for the day was 'brights' so I wore my brightest tank and a colourful bag. I liked how well the yellow and aquamarine worked with the print on my kimono too. Wore this to go out with toddler T for a play date with some other mums and bubs from playgroup, as we are still trying to catch up although playgroup has a break over summer.

Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarersyellow tank, Jeanswest maternity shorts, studded sandals, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC. First time I've worn the kimono as it's a recent purchase, but you can see another way I wore it on Instagram here.

Other ways to wearyellow tank and a maxi skirt, Jeanswest maternity shorts and teestudded sandals and a printed skirt, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC with flared jeans

What I wore:

ShoesBalenciaga studded sandals in sorbet RGGH (on sale!)
Bracelets: the usual plus House of Harlow sunburst wrap bracelet in cobalt
BagBalenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet

Why I wore it:

Wore this out to a Christmas party. I really like pink and blue together so I loved the colour combination in this outfit also. The style challenge for the day was 'killer heels' but no chance of wearing heels at this point in pregnancy! I figured the studs on my sandals made them 'killer' enough looking to meet the theme, and they were perfect for chasing around a toddler. Toddler T had a blast at the party, and got to meet Santa again. Even after Santa gave him a cookie he wasn't really sure of him, although it did make for some cute photos.

As it's the second time I've worn this tank since I purchased it, and I'm trying to review and reflect on all my purchases to find out if I'm buying the right things for my wardrobe, my purchase review:

I LOVE this tank. In my last pregnancy, I didn't try any of these maternity tanks and I just stuck to the regular non-maternity tanks, but I decided to try these on at Jeanswest one day and loved how comfortable and flattering they were. I bought three colours, and may have bought a few more in the recent sales....definitely a great pregnancy purchase. Although I am too clumsy for white and I'm frequently spilling things on it, so far I've managed to get all the stains out!

Last worn: white maternity tank, maternity boyfriend shorts (above), Balenciaga studded sandals, Balenciaga sorbet pink city bag. First time I've worn the kimono as it's a recent purchase but you can see how I also wore it on Christmas eve on instagram.

Other ways to wearwhite maternity tank and a maxi skirt, maternity boyfriend shorts and Converse, Balenciaga studded sandals and skinny jeans, Balenciaga sorbet city bag and a chambray dress

If you like the look of the kimonos above, now is a great time to snap them up! Final reductions are on in the Asos sale.

I sized down with the New Look Petite print kimono and got my regular size in the Somedays Lovin' Yakuza print kimono.

Frocktober: Black and Grey Dresses and Bright Accessories

Two more Frocktober outfits, one I wore to the office and the other to work from home. I'm wearing a different dress every day in October to raise funds for Ovarian Cancer Research foundation. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far!

What I wore:

Away From Blue | Second trimester office wear jeanswest floral print wrap dress outfit

AwayFromTheBlue | Balenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet pink
DressJeanswest floral wrap dress (with pink Supre singlet underneath)
ShoesWalnut Melbourne 'Ava' black lizard ballet flats
Bracelets: the usual plus Roie Designs black leather Swarovski beaded wrap bracelet
BagBalenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet

Why I wore it:

I rediscovered this wrap dress in my last pregnancy, so I was looking forward to wearing it again for Frocktober. Felt happy and comfortable in this all day. And I didn't need a jacket, unlike the last time I wore it in winter when I was layered up!

I had been talking with @therawedit on instagram about Balenciaga bags and it reminded me it had been a while since I'd worn my sorbet pink city bag. I pulled it out again and I've enjoyed wearing it the past few days! It's a great way to add some colour to a black and white outfit like this. I added a pink tank under the dress because I was wearing the pink bag.

Last worn: Jeanswest printed wrap dress, pink tank, black ballet flats, Balenciaga sorbet pink city bag.

Other ways to wearJeanswest printed wrap dress without a baby bump, pink tank under a printed top, black ballet flats and a maxi skirtBalenciaga sorbet pink city bag in third trimester.

More skater dresses under $50:

What I wore:

Away From Blue | Petite Blogger Striped Maxi cardigan grey skater dress red skull scarf

Away From Blue | Rebecca Minkoff MAB mini in soft grey
Jacket: Kmart striped maxi cardigan
ScarfAlexander McQueen red skull-print modal and cashmere-blend scarf
DressAsos grey skater dress (on sale!)
ShoesRMK Chester black ankle boots (on sale here!)
Bracelets: the usual plus Balenciaga classic double tour bracelet in pearly grey
BagRebecca Minkoff MAB mini in soft grey

Why I wore it:

Unlike the day before, it was a bit of a cloudy and rainy morning so an extra layer was needed. I wanted to add some colour with the scarf, although the striped maxi cardi kept me warm enough. Just thought I should add some colour after I swapped out the bright pink Balenciaga city bag for the neutral grey Rebecca Minkoff MAM. It's another bag that hasn't been worn in a while!

I wasn't looking forward to wearing this dress all, but knew I'd have to wear it at some point for the Frocktober challenge.  It's a lovely dress and normally I like it when I wear it, but while I was trying on outfits earlier in the second trimester (when I was still hiding the baby bump) I put this one on, and hated the way it looked with a baby bump. It also didn't hide the bump very well! I made a mental note to wear it on a quiet day where I wouldn't see a lot of people.

But after wearing this to work from home and do the day care drop off / pick up....have to say I really liked the way it felt and sat on the slightly bigger bump. Was really pleased with this outfit in the end, despite thinking I wouldn't enjoy wearing it.

Frocktober: Kimonos, Blue Dresses, Balenciaga Sorbet Pink City Bag and Monthly Purchases

First, what I bought in October. As I am doing Frocktober and wearing only dresses, I didn't buy any new clothes. I did buy a few accessories though! Using some store credit at Rebecca Minkoff, and taking advantage of the Shopbop sale in October. As the parcels arrived separately, about a week apart, I've got 2 'what I bought' videos instead of just the one!

What I bought from Shopbop:

What I bought from Rebecca Minkoff:

Some impulse buys in there, and two things (the bag and wallet) I'd been thinking about getting for a while. It was good to start doing some early Christmas shopping too!

Now, more Frocktober outfits! Two blue dresses this time. I'm challenging myself to wear a different dress each day in October as I take part in the Frocktober fundraiser for Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.

What I wore:

Away From Blue | Shein lace kimono jeanswest chambray shift dress ankle boots pink Bal city spring OOTD

Away From The Blue | Balenciaga 2010 pink sorbet city classic RH bag
Jacket: Shein cream lace kimono (C/O)
Necklace: Chanel necklace
DressJeanswest Rachel Lyocell chambray dress (C/O)
ShoesAsos airtime leather Chelsea boots in tan
Bracelets: the usual plus Edenborough Evans 'Ivy' silver cuff and enamel coated Marc By Marc Jacobs Katie bracelet
BagBalenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet

Why I wore it:

Shein were kind enough to let me pick something from their large range to try out, and I chose this lovely lace kimono. I think it would look great with jeans or shorts, and that's how I had pictured it. Of course, I can only wear dresses in October, so I tried the next best thing and wore it with this chambray dress. I actually quite liked the combination!

I gushed a lot about this dress when I first got it, and yet it hasn't been worn too frequently...it's not that I've fallen out of love with it, it's that I felt it was tricky to hide the baby bump in it! The dress is from the regular line, not the maternity line, but it still fits the bump nicely so hopefully I can squeeze in a few more wears before my belly outgrows it entirely.

Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarerschambray dress, Asos Chelsea ankle boots, Balenciaga sorbet city bag. First time I've worn the kimono as it's a recent wardrobe addition.

Other ways to wearchambray dress and a puple cardi, ankle boots in the office, Balenciaga sorbet city bag with a maxi dress and baby bump.

More cute kimonos under $50:

Some crochet/lace ones for warmer days and cosier knitted ones for cooler days.

What I wore:

Away From Blue | Colourful spring outfit second trimester teal pasiley maxi dress purple cardi pink bag

Away From Blue | Colourful bag and outfit Balenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet pink teal maxi dress
JacketJeanswest Peggie kimono cardigan in purple mulberry marle
Necklace: rectangle pendant necklace
Dress: thrifted JayJays teal paisley print maxi dress
ShoesIkwetta 'Circles of life' sandals (C/O)
BagBalenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet

Why I wore it:

Another blue dress! Well, teal, but close enough. I had been looking forward to wearing this dress as part of the challenge so much, I thought it would look great with the bump. And it does, but it was also very tight! I don't think I could have waited any longer to wear this. It's a lovely dress but doesn't have much stretch, so I won't be wearing this beautiful piece again until after baby's arrival sadly!

I figured I'd add a colourful cardigan to this for warmth in the morning, as I already had the colourful bag and shoes with it. There's purple in the print so the purple kimono cardi seemed like a great idea. I adored this outfit. Was perfect for spending the morning at playgroup with toddler T, and sharing our baby news with all the ladies we hadn't caught up with over the playgroup break.

Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarers (above), purple kimono cardi, teal printed maxi dress, Ikwetta sandals, Balenciaga sorbet city (above).

Other ways to wear: purple kimono cardi layered up for a cold day, teal printed maxi dress in winter, Ikwetta sandals with stripesBalenciaga sorbet city bag with monochrome outfits.
