Here's what I wore to visit a theme park:
Tee: Jeanswest 'Lucy' colourblock tee in grey marle/rosebud
Shorts: Jeanswest 'Scarlette' printed shorts (on sale!)
Shoes: black slim Havaianas thongs
Bag: Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere (with Coach feather bag charm)
The style challenge for the day was 'a statement necklace'. The baby teething necklaces I wear work as statement necklaces, as well as being great things for baby T to chew on and play with!
We spent the day at the Sea World theme park on the Gold Coast (completely different and separate from SeaWorld in America). It was forecast to be a really hot day, so I wanted to wear something that would keep me cool, but still be comfortable for a lot of walking around Sea World and looking after baby T, as well as going on some of the rides. The tee was good to keep my shoulders covered from the sun. These printed shorts were a much better option than denim shorts as we got wet going on the water rides and they dried out quickly during the day. I did think about wearing more supportive shoes like my Converse because of all the walking we would be doing, but it was much too hot to consider anything other than my Havaianas!
Baby T is still so small (only 7 months old), so I wasn't sure how much fun he would have at Sea World, but he really enjoyed it! He was even big enough to go on a few rides, and he had fun looking at all of the animals too. Although he missed the polar bears and the dolphins as he was napping! I'm looking forward to taking him again when he is bigger - he will be able to enjoy some of the shows instead of napping through them, and learn from all the educational stuff around the theme park. Plus the 'rescue, rehab and release' message Sea World Gold Coast operates under is a wonderful way for him to think about all animals, not just marine life!
Last worn: colour block tee, printed shorts, Havaianas, Louis Vuitton Speedy Bandouliere.
Here's what I wore to spend the morning with my grandparents:
Tank: Jeanswest round neck lace detail top
Skirt: French Connection green and black printed skirt
Shoes: Wittner 'Jasmarie' studded sandals
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Love cross body bag in grey
The style challenge for the day was 'mimic a style you love' - so I shared a pic of when I tried on a pair of boyfriend jeans. They didn't suit me, so I didn't buy them.
This is what I wore for the day - I spent the morning with my grandparents. Both the top and the skirt are pieces that haven't been worn a lot lately, so I wanted to give them a go. While I'm not really happy with how they worked together, I do love both pieces separately so they are staying in my wardrobe. Wearing this top again just reminded me of how much I love it, has been far too long since I last wore it! Need to wear it more, as I commented last time how little I'd been wearing it too. The skirt hasn't been worn in over a year and a half, but I did try to wear it in that time - I just couldn't zip it over the baby belly!
Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarer, lace detail tank, pleated skirt, studded sandals, Rebecca Minkoff Love bag.

so glad the bub still had a wonderful time at Sea World! you definitely need to take him back when he's a few years older :) loving those printed shorts too. flowy pieces are always a lifesaver when it comes to hot days especially with a lot of walking and crowds!

Sea World sounds like a blast, even with a little one in tow! Actually, I think theme parks become even more fun when you get to share them with your kids! I never thought of wearing soft shorts at a water park. That is a genius tip I'll have to remember!

ReplyDeleteSea World in America is horrible. So glad to hear you guys have your own. An animal education and rehabilitation center sounds fantastic! We went to the zoo when Penny was 4 months old. She slept the entire time. Now that she walks and makes animal noises, I cant wait to go again! (:

I especially love the french connection skirt, it looks amazing on you. I have so many memories from my childhood of going to Sea World. I still love my polar bear that I got from there. I hope it was fun and glad little baby T enjoyed it too.

DeleteSea World sounds really cool - I wish we had something like that here, since we're on the Pacific Ocean and all! I really like both pieces in the 2nd outfit as well, but it seems like too much volume when they're together. You are right - that top is all kinds of flattering on you!

I like the second outfit very much :) casual comfy and chic! I know how you feel about parting with our beloved bags! It took me a while to decide to let my Mulberry Alexa go. Mostly because there is no outside pocket and it's hard to get in and out quickly. But I feel like 10 bags is about the right amount for me to be manageable. Otherwise there will be bags that just get left out and not being used :)

ReplyDeleteYou know I kept seeing that cute necklace and the last thing on my mind was that it was a teething necklace ,I had never ever heard of this :)
